I hope you’ll make more videos like this. I just joined your channel because for the past year, I’ve been dabbing in industrial music but I love the EBM bass lines like Mindless Faith uses. I didn’t really notice it’s the percussive elements that I like though I’m just distorting it. Thanks for this!

thanks :) I'll make more like this for sure.. The key with industrial sounds like this is to gate them really short with filter envelopes so they're percussive.

@@studiobrootle By gate, do you mean to have a small gap between the notes played?

@@DielectricFailure I mean make the notes short. so they start and end abruptly. so the bass is percussive. You can do this with a filter envelope by making the decay really short.

I’m using a sign wave mixed with a square wave and using an appreciator. I use envelope filters but it’s a plug-in so it is still a bit of a mess. Logic Pro on iPad. 😡 I’m looking to get a laptop so I can use Ableton or FL Studio with Serum to make what I’m after.

@@DielectricFailure ableton operator is pretty good for this sort of sound too. You want to make it a bit too nasty and then filter it down :)

How do you get the downloaded rack in Ableton? I can't seem to just drag it in.

unzip it and put it with your other racks. (click on your other racks in the ableton browser and open the folder in explorer, then put the unzipped file in there).
