how hasn't this had more views, first band I ran to see at download 2007 in the morning still stinking from the night before !!! But was worth it !!! One of the best forgotten bands of my teenage years !!! Underrated !!! still listen to them daily !! :)
I was at this show .. first thing .. in the rain .. with all my mates I was telling about Reuben .. they said it was a highlight of the weekend because they were not expecting this purest joy
Saw maybe 15 shows and honestly I got the same level of excitement each time and the same level of unbridled enthusiasm. They got just big enough to mean the world to 1000 people in a room in London. Had they been bigger it would've been a few thousand more hangers on (admittedly more money for them which their work rate deserved) but it might've neutered that atmosphere. Reuben were the definition of a cult band and the best thing was it all felt positive. People loved that band, still do love that band and I guarantee there's people who are discovering them right now who will love them :-)
Ahhh the days of being 14 running to main stage and this being the first band I saw of the Sunday , they made a fan out of me, brought the album and saw them on there uk tour the year after!
For no discernable reason a lump in my throat watching this. I think Reuben were far better than 99% of their contemporaries, opting away from tropey, pandering music, and i think they would have been considerably more popular if they'd been more marketable, if theyd had more trendy haircuts, more stylish or 25% better looking. But everything they were, for the people that loved them, made them what they were
Great band, I saw them support Vex Red once it’s a shame they didn’t become as big as another one of the supports Biffy Clyro, and Vex Red are awesome as well.
Anthony Quigley I’m not sure it’s as black and white as that. I think he was very much done with it by the end of Reuben but from the fact he still plays the songs, had Guy as his road drummer for his solo band and doesn’t outright dismiss any Reuben questions in interviews suggests that he’s in a good place with it now. I think his natural aversion to cheesy reunions would stop him short of touring the band again though... This is just going from things he’s said in the press over the last decade since it ended, you might be a close personal friend and know something different than me though 😂
One of the most underrated bands ever
Hard agree
Hell yeah
13:43 seeing their manager Barney in the crowd signing every word is so sweet. What a man.
Man that bass is just absolute thunder. Fucking killer show.
One of the most underrated bands to ever play a fucking note. Truly incredible music well ahead of its time.
Still have a chuckle every time Lenman says a sea full of girls and it cuts to the mortally offended Maiden fan in the crowd
Back for more in 2022! Can’t beat the authenticity of Reuben! Rock!!!! 🤘🏼
What a fucking drummer.

Incredible band. Jamie still knocking out amazing tunes on his own but would love to see one last Reuben show.
Fuck yeah!
First band i saw at my first ever Download, so glad i saw them in the nick of time
What a bitter crowd, it's freaking Reuben!
Reuben have inspired so soo many bands ..
I was at this show .. first thing .. in the rain .. with all my mates I was telling about Reuben .. they said it was a highlight of the weekend because they were not expecting this purest joy
I highly recommend Jamie Lenmen's solo stuff.
Such a great band, deserved more recognition
Was lucky enough to see them just once back in the day
Still listen to them a lot these days

What a shit crowd. This was the year before my first download. Absolute pity I missed them.
Morning sets are always tame people conserving their energy for the later sets
Reuben played 2006 as well, so this wasn't their only Download appearance
Ahhh the days of being 14 running to main stage and this being the first band I saw of the Sunday , they made a fan out of me, brought the album and saw them on there uk tour the year after!
The intro to Teenager on this is so brilliantly awkward
Do the kids call you HoJu?
I was thinking exactly the same just now - Jamie standing there headbanging to the backing track with his guitar. Epic. Man I miss Reuben so much.,
Kind of sums up Reuben, incredible music but something going wrong 😭🤣
Makes me sad when Jamie says see you next year :( thanks for sharing.
I know right. Love his solo stuff but would love to see a one off Reuben show for the memories :-)
Right? And Barney talking about how proud he is at the end. Broken.
I was there for this and can confirm the bass sounded as horrendous there as it does on this recording
How come we don't get footage from Download like this anymore? We don't even get the highlights anymore since Sky canned the deal with them.
I still miss these guys.
I remember seeing Reuben in a small venue in Southend called chinnerys and they were fucking awesome. Loved em ever since
Love Chinnerys! A great venue
@@RandomHeroXJackChinnerys was where Engerica played their last show, banger, cool venue
christ ! I was there it was haggard weather, everyone was hungover and it was one of the best sets of the day!
Fuckin rock overload. Literally struggling not to melt here.
Why can't my headphones play this alot louder ffs, what a band, would love to have seen these.

Just realized Jon is doing an impression of the moon at the very very end ha!
"One time I saw a man looking at me... then he picked up a tube... he made the Moon big inside a tube..."
Still the greatest band of all time
Still watching from home!
awesome guitarist
reuben shouldve been huge
Who knew Lenman had some DnB skillz 3:02, perhaps he could have tried his hand at being an auctioneer
i love that Lao Tzu song- that was pretty cool. Jamie is an Ace Wizard
The best.
Fuck, I miss this band...
awesome band! I put them in the same group as Therapy? and Kerbdog who have made amazing music but were totally underrated :(
Make or Break Media Completely agree and Jamie Lenman continues to be one of the most interesting songwriters in the UK!
@@RandomHeroXJack talented guy and great personality! Shame real talent isn't always recognised
Why does Jamie look like Dean Richardson?
Never seen them in the same room...
Great band, I saw them support Vex Red once it’s a shame they didn’t become as big as another one of the supports Biffy Clyro, and Vex Red are awesome as well.
2023!
Who else wants to see the drummer hit that China boy cymbal? Lol.
Jamie is weird looking but I find him interesting
butt hurt ironmaiden fan at 16:13 hahaha
I love this band, but this set list isn’t the best selection of songs at all...
Jamie HATED this band and hated playing in it

No, he didn't. Wtf are you talking about?
@@RandomHeroXJack lol he's literally told me he loved his Reuben days and was very proud of them. He's just moved on with his life.
No way is that true, it was just a shit ton of work for such little reward, Lenman was into it deeply, unless he is the world's greatest ever actor
It's like impossible to choose a favourite Reuben song they're all just interesting, cleverly put together and brilliant
