I read Devdas many times, watched this film many times. Every time this scene has made me cry ! Tonight at 11/22pm watching at my home near London City; No exception! One of the greatest films in the world with best storey and best acting by Dilip Kumar, Suchitra Sen, Vaijaintimala, Motilal and Nasir Hussain ( Dharam da)! I can only compare it with Dr. ZIVAGO!
Yusuf Khan, Dilip Kumar Sb.was a great human being and unmatched artist. Such actors born in centuries. A journalist at an Airport once recognised Dilip Sb & asked him to act a little bit. Dilip Sb told him that he didn't know acting. On his insistence, Dilip Sb.kept a piece of paper in the middle of his face and showed a crying as well as a smiling face altogether. What a natural and enchanting personality he was.
What a movie?The director is the Jem.Casting is so and so perfect that till date no movie be so real and a perfect portrial of Sarat Chandra Chatterjee.Dilips portrial is no one can match.

None is praising suchitra sen . This is beautiful because the director is able to capture the bengali culture. Bhansali have failef to do it. A local story should be screened in local culture and tradition which is very important.

Shahrukh's Devdas is no where near Devdas depicted by Dilip Kumar. So also the two actresses Suchitra Sen & Vaijayanti mala. Bimal Roy is incomparable.
