I got to see them in concert earlier this year, and I cannot possibly express that they sound EVEN BETTER live. I truly don't understand how. But I swear my whole body was covered in chills from start to finish.
Yes, me too! I was at the Atlanta concert. I don't think they sang Je suis malade but I got chills from songs I didn't even like beforehand. Doohoon's Gethsemane was especially amazing.
@@ren9955 Omg no way!! That's the show I was at too! :D And yeah, they sadly didn't sing Je suis malade, which I remember because it's my favorite of theirs so I was really hoping they would. But EVERY song was so freaking good. I'm still not over how they went from Doohoon's Gethsemane directly into Hyungho's Phantom. Talk about a one-two punch!!
Only discovered Forestella a short time ago and am totally overwhelmed by them.
So you got to see them live! Envy might be a deadly sin and I am sooo guilty! Will they ever get to UK - or even Europe - before I 'pop my clogs'?
I am officially jealous. I hate to travel but I will do anything to see them if they come back to the USA. Even get on an airplane or bus or train or (god forbid at my age) drive.
There are a fair number of fan cams from their US tour to hear more live stuff from an audience pov.

FORESTELLA is definitely one of the best the music industry has to offer. They are so versatile, tremendously creative and besides their unique voices and registers they have insane technical skills and musical sensibilities. Unfortunately, the acoustics of this recording are very bad. You may prefer to obfuscate the videos or overwrite them with text, fans are used to it. But good acoustics is a must in the case of such artists. Thank you for your renewed so appreciative react.

I had the wonderful opportunity to see them live a few months ago and words can't even describe the experience I had. The live videos don't even do them justice and that's saying something! I truly felt like I was in a completely different dimension through the entire concert 🤯
Waleska, your favorite is Bae DooHoon, he is a tenor, but in forestella he mostly takes the baritone role. He's specialized in Musical Theather and has the more modern sound out of the four.

The 2nd singer whom you thought Cho MinGyu was Bae DooHoon, the musical actor. DooHoon shined alot in this song. I love his acting in singing so much. The 3rd singer was Cho MinGyu, classical leggiero tenor. They are well-balanced like 2 classical vocals and 1 pop (Bae DooHoon has a nickname as Pop DooHoon BTW) and 1 rock (Kang HyungHo, a rocker with beautiful soprano falsetto) vocalist. This combination makes possible to sing any genre of music. They are very challenging like to sing pop(Shape of you, Bad Romance) , rock (Sweet Dreams, Warriors), classic pop (Scarborough Fair, the Sound of Silence) jazz (좋은걸 어떡해), waltz (그리운 얼굴), trot (곤드레 만드레), rock opera (Lazenca Save us), Kpop (MAMA, Stand by me, short Fake Love, short That That), Queen (Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, We will rock you), MJ (Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Heal the World), and so on. Surprisingly they nailed every single performance with their own uniqueness and I love it.
I can say ALL the Phantom Singer groups sing greatly. Each has their style. If you love harmony, Phantom Singer performances will be a deep rabbit hole indeed. However, after listening to all, you will notice Forestella has something special.
Ah, they sound much better in live! The videos don't deliver the actual sound and resonance. During their concert tour they get improved their singing even though it sounds perfect from the beginning of the tour. So I used to go the 1st and the last of the tour to enjoy the difference.
Soprano “Piitta”‘s “Phantom of the Opera” cover. I saw it in concert & couldn’t decide whether to be awestruck or burst out laughing (realizing immediately of course he’d have to sing both the Phantom/Christine’s parts). But the way he was “flaunting” it i was like
“Oh he knows he bad!😂” (by “bad” I mean good).
It was the big fat grin on his face…clearly not taking himself too seriously. That’s the great thing when you’re able to do something REAAAAALLY well you can just enjoy it & have fun with the audience.

“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973.
This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …).
When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours.
The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes.
Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad.
But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s.
At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version.
She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during is own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone.
Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on.

is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.
The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.
Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance this 2003 version is even more dramatic

I m French and their diction is amazing and Even Serge Lama, the original singer praised them . They are fantastic . The one who sing very emotionally is Bae Dohon the musical actor . Ko woo rim the bass also have sing an another French song , very famous , « Automn leaves » I suggest you to listen if you don’t have . His diction is more perfect than that one and his cover was so so beautiful and emotional.

I'm abit late but glad you checked them out. I've yet to see them live . Can I also recommend checking out BTOB either their lives or their killing voice that was released recently? Haven't seen a reaction to BTOB on this channel yet but they are regarded one of the best vocal kpop groups (balladols).
