He showed me bullet wounds through his arm and on his head that he had received. All the while he was grinning mischievously and clearly enjoyed his part in having helped his holiness to escape. I felt honoured to speak to him!

HH the Dalai Lama was not the only enlightened being to escape from Tibet. He was of course the administrative head of the country but was actually head of only one of the four main Tibetan Buddhist sects. I personally follow HH Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, the 16th Karmapa as well as HH Pema Donyo Nyinje Wangpo, the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa. This is not to negate the extraordinary work of the Dalai Lama but to point out the time was ripe to bring Tibetan Buddhism to the West and many high lamas were/are involved.

I'm 70 and have experienced a lot so whenever I watch these interesting and inspiring videos where the word "spiritual" and "love" and "high vibration" are used many times I then find the word "ahimsa" comes to my mind very vividly. After this I immediately ask myself how many of these people who use these words have actually made the connection and have become vegan. Has anyone read the World Peace Diet by Will Tuttle?

I only have a very rudimentary knowledge of the region and religion but I am aware of Dorje Shugden and the "civil war" within Tibet and the Lama's part in that. I sometimes think the Tibetans were easier to overcome (or disheartened) because of this schism. Though I really do not intend to cause offense (as I mentioned I'm no expert)I'd love any feedback on this from Craig, Jane or anyone in the comments ❤❤
