These are good tips about how to do it. One other one though. You can slowly work up to an edge and then leave a thin area of tone to form a line. Example, a black circle on a blank canvas. You can then take some other color, like blue, and then starting from the middle slowly fill in the circle with blue paint and cover up the black. When you get up to the edge of the circle you can then leave just a little bit of the black paint left uncovered, and that will form the appearance of a black line around the circle. A good example of using a technique like that is when painting an eye. The basic idea can be used in a lot of different ways and it can really help to paint more freely and boldly. I picked up that idea reading a book about painting by Harold Speed. You have a really good channel going on here. Some parts are really funny too, the beginning here was hilarious. Maybe you should do more comedy bits, and maybe film more stuff outside. Just an idea. If you're asking me I would say keep a hat theme going, especially since it goes with the whole sporty "Paint Coach" theme going on. But either way is cool. Just do whatever you feel like. Yes this is how I’ve done it. And for a mahl, I did make one, but also I bought a cheap thin towel bar. Like it’s so badly made I can’t imagine it would last holding anything. But I can lay it outside the painting with left hand and lay wrist of right with brush to paint
Could you possibly do a video showing exactly how much paint you have on your brushes at different stages of the paintings? I tried the colored pear study and it was a fail. My colors blended way to much and at other times I think I might not have had enough paint on my brushes. Also I wondered if my brush was too stiff, so if you could show the softness/spring of the brushes you use, that would also be very helpful. I am used to painting with acrylics and I'm finding the transition quite tricky and challenging. Of course I've only been painting for about a year and a half...so, not a lot of experience to begin with. Although I do paint almost daily in an effort to improve. Thanks so much! Edited to add: I was thinking it would also be helpful if you could show how much of the mediums you use with the paints. 😉 Thanks again!

Basically you want to make sure you are using a good oil painting brush that is strong and can hold and apply a good amount of paint.

Take a new chisel brush and load it with paint medium not 100% necessary. Using the chisel edge, paint the line you need It can be made in a stroke or a few smaller strokes, no matter. In fact,no need to obsess, because the next step will make it work. Now, clean brush, and dip into a little WN blending and glazing medium, wipe it so basically there is only residue left in brush. Now, with chisel UNDER the line you just made, and brush almost flat against the canvas, pull the brush directly under your line to clean it up and stroke it till it's as thin as you like. You can of course go from the other side as well if you need. You are just pushing and moving the paint where it needs/doesn't need to be. Easy and super thin. I used this to paint rat run rigging on a boat, for example. Did all the vertical lines and let it dry then did the horizontal ones.

I’m doing the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance and the lines going down from the supporters are so thin and straight I’m having a lot of problems with first off the thickness of the lines, second them being consistently straight, and third them being consistently thin in all areas without blotching.
My question is how do you put a dark thin line over thick paint like sargent paints eye creases and nose creases? He uses that reddish orange brick color.

None of these produce very clean, uniform lines. I'm an admirer of several of the photorealistic and hyperrealistic cityscape painters who produce buildings with perfect rows of windows where all the window frames and sill are perfectly straight and uniform, or suspension bridges with suspension cables of uniformly thing, straight cables. How do they do it?
no hat! you have great hair. and why do guys wear them with the visor thing in the back? no offense but it looks stupid and it screams "I saw a cool guy do it, so I'll copy him".
Scratching the back of your brush into wet paint was the way Rembrandt accented hairs in particular in his self portraits. Nice video again!

Some Dagger brushes can make very thin lines. I use them myself.
