An introduction to local Mt Angel history. With the help of Nate Deshler and the Mt Angel Historical Society, Jon Deshler created this short piece to share with the community during the Oktoberfest of 2022, and beyond at MATS.

I lived in Mt. Angel from 1948 till moving to California with my family in 1953. At the age of 5. My father taught and coached at the High school stop the Mount. After returning to Oregon my folks purchased a cabin on the Abiqua so my brothers and sisters could spend the summers in the fields harvesting strawberries in early June until the end of the Hop season on the Aman farm. This work created in me, a work ethic that I have passed on to my children and grandchildren. Thank you for your documentary. David Barrett.
