As a daughter of indigenous parents from Oaxaca, I think you guys represented Oaxaca the best! I always watch RUclips videos of Oaxaca and tourist typically say or do things that I don’t really agree but you guys showed so much respect and open mindedness for my culture! Thank you so much! Next time you go to Oaxaca, make sure you guys check out the Mujeres del barro rojo un My parents hometown of San Marcos Tlapazola, 45 mins away from Oaxaca City!
Jocabed, thank you so much for the kind comment. We are so happy we were able to capture the Oaxacan food culture correctly! It was really important for us to get a local guide to help explain and teach us all the traditional ways. We would love to check out Mujeres del barro rojo next time!
This definitely makes me to travel to Oaxaca! The people seem so inviting, the culture seems fascinating, and the food looks delicious! Thanks for adding Oaxaca to my bucket list!! Also, I hope all is okay. 💛
Another great video! The food looks fabulous and it seems like the Mexican people are very warm and welcoming, anxious to share their recipes and culture.
My wife and I love watching your videos! They’re all creative, informative, and fun! Have you listed your camera and editing equipment/software on any previous posts? If not, would you mind sharing? We are beginning to travel more and would like to be able to document and share our experiences.
Hi Rich! Sorry for missing your comment. Yes, our camera gear is in the description. Faris has been doing freelance videography since 2017 so he has accumulated a lot of gear. We always recommend buying something in your budget first and nowadays an iPhone is so versatile. We like using Final Cut Pro for software because it is the most compatible with our MacBooks and makes the whole editing process faster.
A lot of ppl who don’t know about history don’t realize Mexican food before colonization was and is very healthy and organic. Ppl just assume all Mexican food is tacos or unhealthy food…but they are thinking after the Colonization period. Thank you Mexico for tomatoes in the Italian foods, chocolate for the European chocolate bars and vanilla..
Mexico (anahuac the most under rated civilization in history, domesticate to the world since centuries ago with love, corn, xitomatli (tomato alla colors), vanilla, avocado, chilli, frijoles (beans), cacao, amaranto, calabacitas (zuchini) chia, ahiote, chayote, guanabana, chirimoya, tejocote, etc
Wow I love y’all so much for these. That cliff hanger is intense but as long as y’all are safe and healthy. ❤️ Traveling through Mexico is top of the list for me now thanks to you two.
Thanks Adam! We will probably post it Wednesday, but yes we are safe and healthy. You will love travelling here. It has made our Van life so much more fulfilling
Awesome! There are a few day trips you can take outside of the city that look great, but as far as the city goes we did a lot. We would recommend a food tour. Lots of history and unique cuisine.
9:11 "eating bugs in mexico traces back to the mid 16th century". it goes back way further than that. thousands of years. our history doesnt start when the europeans arrive.
Here in California the government leaders are banning gas stoves and comals because they’re not environmentally friendly. Makes me want to move somewhere like Oaxaca where you can live your life!

Canadian here who just discovered your channel, you do an awesome job, very in-depth, respectful and high quality, keep up the great work.
