1# Age of Empires series 2# Warcraft series (all 3) 3# Command & Conquer series 4# Total Annihilation series 5# Supreme Commander series 6# Starcraft series
Ground Control was never really a true RTS game, it was the first of its kind to be a Real Tactical game, basically a 3rd person shooter with tanks. Its a real shame it never really took off like so many of us had hoped for it would, but at the time the market was flooded with RTS games like C&C, StarCraft, Dune, Age of Empires, Homeworld etc. It never really got the chance to step out of the RTS shadow. The fact that people still play this game today is a testimony to how good this ga,e actually was and still is.
@@DeathSpiritx Real-Time Tactics to give it the correct genre, RTS game tends to have base building and resource gathering in the gameplay, GC does not, Massive wanted to get away from that genre and create a unique and different gaming experience from the rest of the games that were already established. They should have kept that same game style when they created GC2.IMO. WIC came close to it and was the real successor to the original GC, although capturing resource points was not really something that I liked, I guess it was an attempt to attract a wider audience.I think you can turn that aspect of the game off in MP for WIC, it's been a while since I played that game.
