Does nobody realize that the pyramid doesn’t actually have a square bottom and the angle he was holding it at created an optical illusion? This puzzle would actually be harder than you think.

Lol this solution was my first guess, the „pyramid“ is a tetrahedron which you draw by connecting opposite corners of a cube
It wasn't an optical illusion he actually rotated it so the silhouette of the shape was a square

@@Pnwrat understanding perspective helps you understand why it worked. The basic concept is still just rotating it correctly. So no, perspective wouldn't matter unless you wanted to know how/ why you got it to slip inside.

When he's holding it the outline of the entire pyramid forms a square shape
If you look at the pyramid all the sides are triangles, there is NO squared off side. Instead if you rotate it just so you create an optical illusion of a square shape (the outline of the pyramid becomes square by combining two triangle sides to make one square) Once squared off it will fit. Also something to note: when he points out the two triangle shapes before the square you'll notice one example is showing off 1 side and the second example is showing off 3 sides. It is when you can only see 2 sides that the square reveals itself.
That language is not welcome in a school environment!

When he was trying to put it in I immediately knew how to put it in, but for real, taking out seems more difficult. You'd have to focus on angling the pyramid correctly inside the cube.

If they're both roughly the same size on their sides then it would fit.
A triangle does have 3 sides and a square only needs a single side (that would fit) for the rest of it's other side to go in as well.
If say, I had a triangle that is 3 inches one each side and a square that is also 3 inches exactly on each side.
Aline any one side of the square to a side of the triangle then raise it up vertically. Of course, this is assuming the triangle has a hollow center in the first place.

The longest part of the pyramid is its side, its edge. The longest part of the square is the diagonal. If the pyramid's edge fits into the diagonal, it is possible. If it does not, it's impossible
