Excellent video! Excellent helicopter. I used to flying it in the seventies (73 y.o.). You fly it five stars! How can I get that small window "Axis viewer"?
In x-plane 12 when the flight speed comes below 20 knots and I increase collective (slowly) to slow down the decent, the helicopter makes a nasty yaw opposite the rotor rotation. Making a large and deep opposite torque pedal necessary. Also the very rapid decent due to your own rotor wash is quite exaggerated. Making me question if that also happens so extreme in real helicopter flight. What’s your take on that?
Hey, once a helicopter leaves effective translational lift it requires more power to stay airborne. When increasing collective torque induced yaw will get stronger requiring You to give more power pedal to compensate. So it's generally a realistic feature of the XP12 Flight model. However I do think it's a little exagerated. It seems to drop too suddenly and not gradually like in some DCS-models. I still think that the XP12 FM is pretty good and quite a bit better than XP11.
I think it’s also due my Hotas throttle I use as collective. Had the response curve in linear. Now I adjusted it with a bit flatter curve in the hover region so the response is much milder. Thanks , keep those great vids coming. 😊
I am really interested in what you think about DCS Mi-24 which has become my most favourite helicopter across all the big sims for its FM. It took some time to set the microswitch and trim options to my liking but now I find it to be very pleasant while demanding to fly. Alouette III by HSF is probably too much steady which is fine for relaxing flights on the other hand. Btw, thank you for your tutorials and reviews.
I think the FM of the Mi-24 is pretty awesome. Only thing: It's kinda hard to maintain a steady hover because of the limited visibility out of the cockpit. But that's no quirk, you just can't feel it in a sim. Might be easier in VR though...
@@pannawatjadmaeng872How will this help me fly the helicopter at the same speed and in the same direction by releasing the cyclic pitch stick?🙂 It does not have the autopilot function itself, since it is controlled only manually.
great. cant wait for the next episodes
Thanks for putting these reviews together. You're my go to when it comes to new whirlybirds. I can see the potential for this helicopter.

Thx 🙂, you'll find it here:forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/60093-axisviewer-helicopter-edition/
Thank you so much@dyhelisimmer4608. Please keep teaching us to fly helicopters.👍

@@thenerdyhelisimmer4608 I find the DISS-15 Stationary Flight Indicator to be very useful for hovering.
@@fh4635 Yes, it's there for a reason 😃
beautiful helo
Does this model have autopilot?
I don't think it has...
@@thenerdyhelisimmer4608 Too bad☹️ Will have to delete.
You have to put pilot weight in weight and balance.

@@WWMDandother Maybe you can try trim the cyclic.
