A designação do Camel Trophy 1995 foi escolhida para fazer referência à civilização Maia, que dominou a região da América Central, onde esta edição teve lugar. Os países visitados foram 5 (Belize, México, Guatemala, El Salvador e Honduras), obrigando um planeamento demorado, que se prolongou por diversos meses.

A definitely one of the high points in my whole life of adventure:
The '95 Mundo Maya was absolutely beautiful. All those vehicles @ the ruins of Copán, Xunantunich, Caracól, the wildlife etc ..... FANTASTIC!
I was the guy driving driving a Russian military UAZ 4x4.
