I will tell you what most people, including '90s kids', were listening to in India in the 90s. Anu Malik. Do you understand how niche the concept of a rock song with lyrics in English was for India at that time?
It is deeper than just unjust; it is a civilizational skip. By the time some generation will notice, entire eon would have passed, including you... and.. .me... and million others who read this.
I just became 14 again! So much has changed since then... and not in a good way. If only I'd known it was going to be like this all around, I'd have treasured 1994 a whole lot more. I intensely miss not knowing :(
Read your words and here is one declaring to be one amongst your fraternity. And there are more than many like me. Believe it may friend. And there are so many other songs like this which touch inidviduals like us all over the planet with same nostalgia and cognition of richness of those times.
Nostalgia. Pure Nostalgia :-) Indus Creed thank you for the music. Zubin Balaporia couriered me a free copy of The Second Coming album. I still have the CD, and the envelope that had carried the CD :-) :-)
amit taksande sorry to say, but this wasn't the first rock band of India, there were other bands before Rock machine, like 13 AD, having said that....Rock machine was way ahead of their times and a class apart, cheers
Gives me goosebumps even today when I listen to this track. What a wonderful cocktail of tabla, guitar, drums, saxophone clubbed with beautiful lyrics and vocals . Take a bow Indus Creed for introducing a new flavour of independent Indian rock to the world ! This band deserves a lot lot lot more recognition and respect!
Pretty child they're cheering away as you ride through your kingdom of sand lovely child you're a hero today you're a magical mystery man Like a bird on the wing you soar through your dreams let your fantasies sweep the skies but you know it's unreal the pain is so clear like the tears in a baby's eyes Holy child you fly through the night on your faithful and glorious steed lonely child wake up to the light get back to your tatters, your home on the street Like a bird on the wing you soar through your dreams let your fantasies sweep the skies but you know it's unreal the pain is so clear like the tears in a baby's eyes
This song is a treasure. I remember listening to this when I was barely a teen. It was the first Indian song that blew my mind away. It is really sad that rock acts like Indus Creed/Rock Machine were and are so under appreciated in India. As an Indian and an avid old school rock and roll lover this kinda breaks my heart. :( Kudos to all you peeps back home that keep trying. Stay strong \m/
after 23 years managed to recollect this song, still the best and yes I was witness to the rock show of 13AD....thank you floyd matchbox.....tons of memories..
You know you are a 90s kid when all you do is talk about how much of a 90s kid you used to be. Given that these guys sound alright for their time, its par uncool to still hail them as revolutionary in any way, even worse if you think that the music our generation makes is crap(unless you are talking about what goes on in the pop world, Miley Cyrus types). The great music of our times is greater than the greatest music of the past because as a rule, art always piles on top of its predecessor to create a new benchmark, and hence, genuine artists, the few that remain, make much better music whatever was ever made in the 80s or 90s. You think our generation sucks coz you don't know any better about art of the 'today', because at some point of time in your life, you closed down your ability to take in new art and judge it for what it is. Now, every time you hear a song, you compare it with some old band that made you feel nostalgia (like scorpions?) and you think to yourself, man my generation sucks. Just saying.
@@Theblotthing You personify the old saying 'Ignorance is bliss'. The 90s was a time of less internet based nonsense when people used to actually go the extra mile and subscribe to libraries big, small and moving and would actually 'read' literature on any subject. A stark contrast with the current times when most people are content with reading the headline and not bothering about the rest of the content which too is most of the time uninformed and half baked. The current times are of instant gratification and fast food kind of knowledge where people think they don't have 'time' to 'go into the details' without unfortunately knowing another old saying, 'the devil is in the details'. There is a reason why the Scorpions, Pink Floyd and many more from the 70s, 80s and 90s are still heard today and are hence called timeless classics. Learn to develop the magnanimity to accept it when people admit that some of these gems of the past decades are worth a lot more appreciation than they garnered at the time and continue to do albeit in much lesser amounts. Mithun Ghosh ya you are right.I used to think theres no rock band in india n was shocked they did this a long time ago.Indus creed is never shown on tv,this is unfair
Uday Benegal is the lead singer of this band and all members played very well. I like the kid who makes wave from his hands on rhythm. Request u guys to come back again.
Time 4.54pm date 1st oct 2019. Place : office desk. Had heard this beautiful song first time on DD when it got featured in the world this week which prannoy roy was anchoring those days. This song sounds so fresh nd is far far ahead of the current trash . Sad that we dont get music like this. This song is my fav song ever.
They did well. They reached their music destination. No matter what ,even the world recognized on world class category. Hats off to this legend band.From.Nagaland.

Thank you youtube. Indus creed is one of the best bands I found on the internet. I am a 90s kid and I don't really like bands these days most of whom are just phoney and wannabe rockstars. Only a few good bands exist today.... Like avial,JYG etc. I am so glad I found bands like indus creed and rock machine. You ppl are really awesome to pull off such a great rock scene I'm a country like India and that too in the 80's . I can't even imagine how ppl would have reacted to your music. But it definitely sounds so good that I don't even wanna compare it with bands these days. Cheers
its a superb song. i even remember the video before this one.....two men on top of the rock,........ i think it was. that was good, but this is amazing
This Legendry song was the 1st pop album in India that I heard during early 90s I feel after which followed many such songs. Simply consider it the grandpa of Indian English music industry..... Haha
It makes me say to myself that im India's son when im lost in the time of so much of other variations across the world. I witness that im a proud Indian.
its so sad that most indians discard such beautiful music and listen to crap like honeysingh
yeah thats right
I will tell you what most people, including '90s kids', were listening to in India in the 90s. Anu Malik. Do you understand how niche the concept of a rock song with lyrics in English was for India at that time?
Arpit Agarwal Absolutely.
Milind Correa absolutely, India is losing its charisma as a liberal nation.
So true
The band deserves so much glory, its almost unjust.
It is deeper than just unjust; it is a civilizational skip. By the time some generation will notice, entire eon would have passed, including you... and.. .me... and million others who read this.
one of the best indian rock bands..still listening in 2020..respect from Pakistan.
I just became 14 again! So much has changed since then... and not in a good way. If only I'd known it was going to be like this all around, I'd have treasured 1994 a whole lot more. I intensely miss not knowing :(

Me too. 14 again.

Best song by an Indian band... No Indian band can reach to this level of awesomeness
Oh my God! How much I love this song! It touches some unknown chord in my heart!
Nostalgia. Pure Nostalgia :-) Indus Creed thank you for the music. Zubin Balaporia couriered me a free copy of The Second Coming album. I still have the CD, and the envelope that had carried the CD :-) :-)

Indus Creed. The band that defined the Indian Rock scene of the late 80s and early 90s.
This was the first Rock band of India my favorite band
amit taksande sorry to say, but this wasn't the first rock band of India, there were other bands before Rock machine, like 13 AD, having said that....Rock machine was way ahead of their times and a class apart, cheers
The first big rock band from India. THere were a lot more before them.
@@hemstephen9234 Indus Creed IS Rock Machine ! They changed the name later on.
indus creed came around 1984, bands like 13AD is from the late 70s, nonetheless i wish both bands gained more recognition.
They emerged during my teen... Chanel V and MTV were making their way in India ..90’s best
Gives me goosebumps even today when I listen to this track. What a wonderful cocktail of tabla, guitar, drums, saxophone clubbed with beautiful lyrics and vocals . Take a bow Indus Creed for introducing a new flavour of independent Indian rock to the world ! This band deserves a lot lot lot more recognition and respect!
super mix of tabla, guitar, sax ...when MTV was MTV..not like what it is today..the best of indian rock...gawd how I miss those days..90s flashback
Yes, the instruments music are superb.. I love the tabla beat especially.. Its simply wow!!
Yes, it's a beautiful mix of classical and western instruments offering an awesome melody!
Pretty child
they're cheering away
as you ride through your kingdom of sand
lovely child
you're a hero today
you're a magical mystery man
Like a bird on the wing
you soar through your dreams
let your fantasies sweep the skies
but you know it's unreal
the pain is so clear
like the tears in a baby's eyes
Holy child
you fly through the night
on your faithful and glorious steed
lonely child
wake up to the light
get back to your tatters, your home on the street
Like a bird on the wing
you soar through your dreams
let your fantasies sweep the skies
but you know it's unreal
the pain is so clear
like the tears in a baby's eyes

Brings back my childhood. Mtv asia memories :) kaash mujhay koyee lota day woh din
Bilkul sahi bhaiya...
Speechless.....reminds me of a time full of joy....much simpler times with my friends and school.
What an amazing composition! Please tell me how did we end up with Honey Singh and Kakkars?
The low baritones of the guitar and the tabla played in a way that it induces a lot of bass in the end is just too brilliant.
after 23 years managed to recollect this song, still the best and yes I was witness to the rock show of 13AD....thank you floyd matchbox.....tons of memories..
The song I heard the most when I was a teenager.. Almost sang along with it every time I heard as well...Goose bumps to hear this again...
Pure nostalgia went back to 1994. I always loved this song.
