Replacing ribbon cable is much easier than trying to repair it. A call to the manufacturer for replacement cables might be an easy solution. Also, ribbon cables like those are always in computer towers. Check computer repair stores for them.
That ribbon is part of a flexible printed circuit board, the 2ish inch wide green cable is all part of the buttons/leds or whatever is on the whole front panel. So the whole panel needs opened to replace it.
Nice payout. Those stainless steel plugs are interesting pickup and that huge bag of hardware and hydraulic fluid are nice scores. Hardware is getting expensive at Home Depot. Tell Steve I said congrats on selling the generator.
You should take a couple days off and relax but what you really need to do is find you like a nice lady secretary to help you try to sell some of that a high dollar.Items off maybe you could just hire that part time but a little office personnel never hurts . The ribbon wire is common. Any appliance main brain bord i'm sure you're able to order it off the internet, or even amazon .
hey Derek, if u are looking for parts for the cummins generator, try look up Onan Generator parts instead maybe you can find something when searching for model number.
You can always try contacting selling radwell and see how much they woudl offer you for the breakers and contactors. You fill ut a spreadsheetof what you have, mail them the parts and they mail you a check(if you accept their offer). Wouldn't get enough as much as if you sold them yourself. But you wouldn't have to keep them on your shelf and deal with the selling yourself. Just a thought.
@@ProjectShopFl The gray cable is standard. The connectors on the end are 2 parts. Some separate easily. Reassembly is even easier. No soldering, line it up and squeeze the 2 halves together with pliers. Had to do it once years ago.
Splice ribbon wire with similar size wire. If TOO THICK you run into resistance issues. Put Oscar on it. Old school computers use to have individual wires. 😊 I grew up watching my Dad playing around making PCs in 60s 70s. Now WAIT! WHAT DID I TYPE EARLIER!???? SCRAPE da BIG O GREEN thinggy mice ate yummy ribbon wires. And let cat Lady know her pussays are SLACKING! You're a hard worker. Keep up AWSOME WORK ETHICS! Please STOP making extra work for yourself. Moving things around....my rule is IF I HAVEN'T USED THINGS IN A YEAR GET RID OF IT! Is it for new shop? HAVE YOU SERIOUSLY LOOKED FOR BUILDING? About the 💩 battery. TOSS THE POS! YOU HAVE ME YELLING AT TV AND SCARING MY CAT! 😮😊
If it was me, I would set aside all the electrical stuff that I would want to sell. Then get a hold of an electrician who is interested and have them come out and take a look at what you have. Maybe they can make you an offer on everything?
Those are ribbon cables just like they use in computers. Take them off and take them to a computer repair company and they should be able to make you new ones
Now I just wrote all of this but I deleted it because I’m old. The atomic weight of copper(CU) is roughly 63.5, the atomic weight for lead (PB)=207…207/63.5=3.24… so you had a 10# bar CU x 3.24 should equate to roughly a 32.4# bar of PB,unless of course my brain has decomposed to between the z and h in Alzheimer’s and I’m completely mistaken. I like that sweet can light,I just fkn knew Steve had that hatchet you are lucky it didn’t wind up at the scrap yard. 100% you can just buy those ribbon wires maybe some dork numbers on there some computer geek shop make them. Sometime when you are in Orlando with scrap you outta go to this scrap yard I think it’s H and S,it’s by the speedway, there is a guy on YT(non-ferrous Jeff) that has a channel and videos all day I think it would be some really fun content, you are basically a star over there they would freak out if you rolled in and they pay well. It would be like on Happy Days you would be like Laverne and Shirley rolling into Al’s to make a guest appearance😂
Also, think about that oil filter press...it's taking up some good real estate. you pay rent for that sq ft'age. That machine is getting more and more expensive every day in ''rent''. Maybe convert it , strip it down for press parts and contorls or sell it.
Those ribbon cables are 100% replace never repair. Also you need to hire an eBay guy to sell all the fixtures and bulbs so much money being thrown out. As a reseller myself I’ve watched you scrap thousands of dollars for pennies. eBay is an easy business once you learn the nuances but you need a dedicated person to deal with the headache side of it.
Just wondering after you got the forklift how much stuff did you find you might of forgot about that thing comes in handy you had a crew down wonder how much stuff they got cleaned up I mentioned have them do the air conditioner just saying you always Interesting to watch just hope price goes up for you
hell yeah a new video!
18 degrees here in Connectcut now
"A weekend scrap marathon!!!" 🎉🎉🎉
👍👍👍
The bench is actually The Neverending Story.
😂😂😂
I think you need a seperate bench reserved for stockpiles.
😂😂😂
The minute that bench is clean...it's not.
It's like groundhog day in PSF land.😅😅😅

Thanks, I am excited to make chess pieces out of them.
What is the fastest? Hot or cold? Hot is the fastest. You can always get a cold. 😀 Hope you are all good again! Sounds better!

Does ribbon wire you buy from computer repair shops or parts store it comes in roles and very cheap
Thanks!
I wonder if you could break up the plastic of the breakers by "ball milling" them in the cement mixer.
Possibly

oh Steve got it already ;)
Thanks for the suggestion
That was me that suggested making a roof from one of the pieces of metal.
Thanks! 👊
but random Steve found the Hatchet
Lots of good and helpful comments on here. Not sure mine is as helpful but why not use the ping pong table for the top on the forklift?
Thanks for the suggestion. I have something in mind when I fix the uprights.

Looks like you cleaned up some of the front of the building
Yes got to keep it clean.
Looks like you got the "CC" turned on from the information I sent you. I tested several different languages and it's working great
Thats great.
The gray ribbon cable is probably found in a PC.
I found some in my computer board pile. lol

Cudos on the material for the chess set. I would use brass for the opponent pieces.
Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. 👍

@ProjectShopFl it's the fastest way to get them done. But watch a couple of videos on RUclips on removing them.

😂😂 Thanks for the info. Next time I am in that area I will try and check them out.
Keep the incinerator
👍👍👍
Are you not signing up to get the extended warranty for your Dewalt tools? If you have problems right out of the box get them to give you a new one.
No but going forward I will.

First comment and HOW DO YOU GET SOO MUCH SCRAP
Don’t worry about it
Just wondering after you got the forklift how much stuff did you find you might of forgot about that thing comes in handy you had a crew down wonder how much stuff they got cleaned up I mentioned have them do the air conditioner just saying you always Interesting to watch just hope price goes up for you
Does any of the stuff you deal with have gold in it
He buys it from electric contractors and the scrap yard.
@@Monkey-boyo_0I don't think I asked for you monkey
All the maker and see if you can get those bands… if you can it’s worth a lot more then 2 grand….
Thanks for the suggestion
Almost impossible to repair ribbon cable. The cable might have a PN on it.
It has definitely been a headache
Get new ribbon cables. It's too hard to get it fixed and it won't hold
Thanks for the info.
If you could sell it for a couple thousand it might be worth it to have someone fix it.
I am looking to get it fixed.
Ribbon wire is cheep .
Thanks!
You can put those capesidors in the dirty aluminum or shred metal .every little bit helps.
The steel yard will not take them.
