The name Beech Grove is actually where Amtrak restores and refurbishes all of their equipment. Beech Grove is found on the P42's and P40's since they've all been serviced their. I'm pretty sure that the Chargers don't have that labeling at this point.

Eric, Lionel has already has been doing the red markers on certain new passenger cars, I have some and you can select which end you want the red markers lighted on or switch them off. So, its actually even better.

Hey! I saw Amtrak #108 in person recently when it helped pull the 2023 Toys For Tots Train in the Capital District of NY! Nice video!
That set makes me want an O guage set! That's truly a cool set indeed. Ahh I'm happy I have a N Scale set of Acela and many others, but an HO X2000 and Amtrak6 car RTG set. So seeing this makes me wanna buy this O Guage set to have it. I don't know if they make a Metroliner Cab Car in that scale, but that would be an awesome addition if they did.
I don't know if it was the train or the camera, but I couldn't stop watching this video! It's beautiful and I've watched a lot of your videos! Something about this one really spoke to me. Thanks Eric for taking the time you do as always to put out such great images!
NJ Transit had purchased 4 from Amtrak for their ACES train. Beast of a locomotive. I did get to move one in my time with Transit. Love the sound they make when pulling for power.

I bought this version as well as the midnight blue one. I didn't get the matching coaches since a significant chunk of my Amtrak collection (over 100 pieces) became mix-and-match around the time I built my Auto-Train. The five GGD Viewliners I bought play into this as well since they're way too expensive to only use in one consist :D
The paint on the engine is awesome and passenger cars are beautiful 😊

I have the 4 pack of Superliner cars Lionel made from years back, My Lionel cars do have the marker lights feature though. Sadly they are only 18" and not 21" like they should be. This engine would look AMAZING pulling those cars

Amazing set. I have this same one on order. Looking forward to getting it on my layout. And yes, Atlas/MTH does not make it easy to get inside these. I have an original amfleet set from circa 1999/2000 and it’s just as much of a pain.

I will say, it looks like the Amfleets are harder to open up than my streamlined passenger cars from MTH. I think it's something like six screws for those.

The MTH Amfleet cars always had the Red Marker lights with the Switch, don’t think they flicker free interior lights just Leds .I have the MTH as well . Awesome Review(:
Really enjoy watching your videos. I have the Menards beta 4.5 and a 031 circle of tubular track. Before I purchase anything else, I'd like to know your suggestion on minimum curve on a 4x8 layout. I would go bigger but space is limited. If I use my space wisely could maybe get away with a 6x10.
Use the widest curve possible, which on 4x8 would be O42 I think. On 6x10 you could comfortably do O63
I’ve been looking for some amfleet cars for my layout since i got my genesis engines (one powered and one not) like i want to say maybe 6-7 years ago i might have to go either to atlas or some second hand model train site to get some of these if i can find them

They didn’t go out of business. They’re still making trains.

Wow absolutely beautiful locomotive and cars! Very crisp details in the paint. What an eye for detail Atlas has! Love Atlas stuff. Everything they do is so well done. Yep I am with ya. Too easy to take the car apart a bit and add a few more passengers. I like full car’s especially now that the pandemic is over! Love your night lighting affects as well. It would be interesting to compare the 2 rail vs 3 rail versions of these engines. Oftentimes the MTH 2 rail units had fixed pilots and ladders for a more realistic appearance.

That's almost exactly how my Amtrack engine sounds and it's an older Mth has the proto 2 sounds I always liked those sound clips but this one has different start up sounds mine has the load baggage sound to the pfa sounds almost identical..my engine don't look like this tho mine has the 3 windows in front I never actually knew what model Amtrack it was called the only thing I do know is whenever you hit PFA first sound says now arriving from San hosezay the capital maybe you might???

Beech Grove is a suburb of Indianapolis as well. I've taken the IndyGo city bus service and seen the Amtrak maintenance facility there, from the road.
I have friends that work at beach Grove amtrak in Indiana.

When the New York and Atlantic took over freight service from the Long Island railroad they started with eight thousand carloads a year now he has 37000 car loads a year. They're better customer service brought back people who would not use Long Island railroad anymore.

The older lionel passenger cars light up and illuminate passengers i dont know about the rest

The Amtrak Auto train is longer than 30 cars. good luck finding enough Amtrak auto racks though
Fortunately I thought of this a couple of decades ago. I may have the only O-gauge Auto-Train on RUclips, if not just the first. 9 Superliners and 13 autoracks at the time of filming. Since I made that video, I've acquired 10 more autoracks, and can actually add another five Superliners from my collection. Only problem is the train would be longer than my house 🤪
@@RailRide I have one F40PH from Lionel and that's in phase 3. My superliners are phase 4 but it's the four pack they offered that were 18 in. They have the ability to change the red light either end of the car. I'm looking to add some Golden gate Depot scale ones to my collection. And then I only have one Amtrak box car and one Amtrak auto rack. It's really tough to find Amtrak stuff in O in general let alone For a decent price My superliners from Lionel cost me $125 per car
@@doubleutubefan5 Yes, in recent years it has become the case. I started buying the MTH auto-train autoracks as they came out, initially the Phase III striped ones, then switched to the Phase IV versions. I had a couple of the CSX fantasy scheme ones custom repainted into the Phase V versions, them MTH came out with the same, so I ordered the six-pack they offered in 2019-ish. So I spent a bit more than a decade building an MTH Auto-Train.
As for Superliners, I have shorty Williams ones from when they were offered in a six-pack (1992), then bought 18" MTH, K-Line and Lionel versions while building the Auto-Train. I actually overshot the number needed to match the number of coaches in the A-T consist (and I don't have room to run a train that long anyway), so my K-Line and Lionel superliners just sit around waiting for me to make up a random consist with them.
I don't think I ever ran the Williams cars, or the MTH + K-Line F40PH's I got when those came out either.

@doubleutubefan5 Yes, I'm on their mailing list. I'm currently considering two more sleepers, but in phase IV (already have two in the 'Amtrak America' phase 3 scheme), and one of the Chargers. I'm not going after the GGD Superliners since I already have almost 30 of the 18" ones and am not bothered by their not being completely scale.
This is more accurate than the Lionel ones
Everything Atlas makes is more accurate than anything Lionel makes.

Atlas Premier line locos made from purchased MTH tooling use Protosound 3. AtlasO is also selling the DCS hardware under it's own name going forward (once electronics supplies permit building them again)
AtlasO locomotives that predate the MTH tooling purchase (i.e. their Master Line) will as far as I know, continue to use TMCC (or DCC for 2-rail versions)

All THE TIME. I purchased one of those rolling magnet pick up tools from Home Depot to help get lost parts out of the carpet.
