@@weirdpaulp No problem. I was wondering if you have taken any acting or public speaking classes? I noticed when you talk it sounds like you're talking from a script, and also you have multiple cuts while you are talking. Is this on purpose? I think your channel is great. You have so much great stuff that you collected over your life, i think you'd even get a bigger channel if you worked on some editing while you're talking, and also the way you speak while you talk. Maybe you are nervous? Or is this possibly just a quirky style you are going for?
It's crazy how much you documented 30 years ago. Did you envision making this video 30 years later? I like the vhs video quality better than the modern cameras. Great recap Paul, I love this. That tape recorder sound quality is underrated. Airport intro reminded me of "Silver Machine" just a little bit.
I don't know if I envisioned making this video 30 years later, but I definitely envisioned being able to tell the world all the details of how I made the album. I know this because in 1989 I actually wrote a short book about each of these three released albums I have made videos about. The books were called "How I Wrote the Songs" and I used them to do the research for these videos.
I always love seeing these videos of your musical journey. Some of the most fun times I ever had were hanging out with some guys in a local band back in the late 90s. That whole vibe of creating songs and recording is the best. It's clear that you really have a passion for what you do.
I enjoyed this video and the history behind the album. I look forward to receiving my copy of the 30th anniversary edition and playing it in my minivan tape deck.
Dude I love these rundowns!!! It makes me want to listen to the albums even more!!! Can’t wait for Lo Fidelity Hi Anxiety’s 30 year anniversary video if it hasn’t been done yet🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I have to get my hands on a reissue. I always love watching the "making of" videos for your albums. I think you have gotten better with age when it comes to your music. I can't wait to hear your new album, how is it going btw. I also noticed you used #StrangerThings. I love Stranger Things but I would take you over it any day! Keep up the cool videos and music Paul!! #strangerthingisretrofetishism
Weird Paul you make a long video entertaining. I'm watching your documentary right now and had to come here to comment to let you know that your work is awesome and appreciated.
I.C. da Light. I used to make mix tapes of random stuff like noises, tv commericals, shows etc I called Dude Tape. One part had Urkel laughing over & over with radio noise and machine guns in the background.
I was thinking some more Commodore 64 related videos would bring in some more views and subs. It is the greatest selling computer in history ya know! Just a thought. Looking forward to more cool videos as always. Have a good one!
My memory is really not that great. It's a good thing that I either wrote everything down or filmed it, now I just go back and read or watch it and remember it easily.
With this coming out in February 1989, I am sure many would have mistakenly thought you'd have copied the tune for "George Burns" from the 1988 film "Big" - but you did it 6 weeks before "Big" came out. Everyone remembers the big piano scene. I'm sure you had a "I've heard that tune before" moment when you saw "Big".
What a challenge it would be Each and every Ay to Zee In the way, your self decree Ride the street called Sesame Dynamic drums and guitar tricks Pluck those strings, and cross sticks Aptly picked some words to match Unsung heroes make songs from scratch Lead the way initially, acrostics from Ay to Zee
I laugh when I hear the line "I want to be your partner can't you see", because "can't you see" is actually part of the next line of lyrics, but they don't sing it that way
I thought you told me you dispised Netflix, so why did you put #StrangerThings as a hashtag? LOL Also, remember this forgotten hit?: “You Don’t Know” by Scarlett and Black? (1988, No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100)
Time really flies by, I hope everything is going well paul!
It sure does. Trying to get this new thrift haul filmed tonight!
You were a very creative child. Pretty awesome upload.
Thanks Evan. This video took a lot of time to make...but it was a wise investment of my time.

Quirky style. Not for everyone. And that's okay with me.
The song Airport reminded me of Back In The U.S.S.R

I love it...I love your stories

Thank you. It's always been a passion. And the journey continues, it keeps changing and there are more stories as life goes on.
That was awesome. Great video insight into your creative process. I love your videos and hearing about your songwriting endeavours.
Thanks Steve!
Love this 😃
This was great stuff Paul! Always a fan of the history! Cheers my friend!
Thanks Mike!
I enjoyed this video and the history behind the album. I look forward to receiving my copy of the 30th anniversary edition and playing it in my minivan tape deck.
The perfect place to play it! It will go in the mail tomorrow, thanks!
Wow you've got some stellar memories and seem to have always been a pretty friendly guy which is even better!
Dude I love these rundowns!!!
It makes me want to listen to the albums even more!!! Can’t wait for Lo Fidelity Hi Anxiety’s 30 year anniversary video if it hasn’t been done yet🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks Jacob! Nope, we have a couple years until that one...and a couple more albums to talk about in between!
Weird Paul I’m a patient man!!! Can’t wait for the others as well!!!
Also, very interesting songs! Especially that turntable scratching!
That was my poor attempt at being a DJ!
Dude! You are like the original RUclipsr! Keep up the good work!
Thank you!

Thanks! I finished writing one of the last 8 songs that need recorded, today. I still have 5 more to finish writing.
the face at 0:01 and 0:04 is comedy gold, but nonetheless i love these videos paul
Amazing video. I thought 22 mins was going to be too long but before I knew it the video was over.
I thought 22 minutes was too long too...but I couldn't tell the story any shorter!
Weird Paul you make a long video entertaining. I'm watching your documentary right now and had to come here to comment to let you know that your work is awesome and appreciated.
Thank you so much, it means a lot to me!

"Dude Tape". That's pretty amazing.

Hi Paul!!! Love!!! xoxo The Clarences
I am really digging the hello kitty radio. I didn't know you were into that Paul lol.
Sure, I love Sanrio
That's very impressive Mr. Paul you have a great long term memory bank, cheers to brain health!
My memory is really not that great. It's a good thing that I either wrote everything down or filmed it, now I just go back and read or watch it and remember it easily.
That was fun to watch and cool hearing your history of coming up with songs! ... have you ever come up with a Greatest Hits album?
Yes, there is an album called "25 Lo Fi Years" that was released in 2012. It pretty much has one song from every album on it.
These are great, I'd love to hear the full album.
You can, for free, here's the link: weirdpaul.bandcamp.com/album/now-i-blow-my-a-b-cs
Hey Paul why couldn't they put you on the masked singer? I enjoyed the video man 👌. Okay until next time. Smell ya later. (Lol)
"Hate" would work really well on Black Flag's "Damaged" LP!
I listened to A LOT of Black Flag back then!
At similar situation I would have written song called "Jeesus palaa, tule lämmittelemään".
Not going to translate that one...
I tried to, but Google translate didn't do a good job
Another great album! Up next is Does Anybody Want This! I believe it was released in October right?
That is correct!

I've never seen Big.
You'll hear Tom Hanks playing "George Burns" with his feet. Is that a reason to see it? Don't know. It's awful in the edited broadcast version.
Yo I have that same radio + cassette but it's green
What a challenge it would be
Each and every Ay to Zee
In the way, your self decree
Ride the street called Sesame
Dynamic drums and guitar tricks
Pluck those strings, and cross sticks
Aptly picked some words to match
Unsung heroes make songs from scratch
Lead the way initially, acrostics from Ay to Zee
Beautiful.
Also I think you later re-recorded Dreaded Glaucoma Test on your 1991 album Lo Fidelity Hi Anxiety if I’m also correct.
Right again!
El el chico, cabeza de coco. Manual de supervivencia escolar de ned
Man people were edgy back then. That’s actually kinda cool. I’m referring to Elvis (JaIlHoUsE rApE).
Edgy for sure.
I want you to write a song called: Barf Balloons.
You seriously need to post your songs. all of them.
You can listen to almost every song I have released here: weirdpaul.bandcamp.com/
4:58: What’s that in the left corner? Looks like the front or back of KISS’ Dressed to Kill LP.
21:42 Nice vid Paul, what were the big changes?
You'll have to wait until October to find out.
Is there a way to burn these albums to CD? I really need them to record copies onto cassette for myself (I don’t sell copies of albums illegally)
Do you like the song Dance With Me by Orleans?
It's funny.
How come?
I laugh when I hear the line "I want to be your partner can't you see", because "can't you see" is actually part of the next line of lyrics, but they don't sing it that way
Oh I see!
What happend to the band?
You are still making songs or You are planed doing it again?
I have a band now. We just practiced tonight. Here's a video we made last year: ruclips.net/video/73mGTzQCKvk/видео.html
Can't find 'butthead' on itunes 😑
I still haven't gotten that album up there. You can listen to it here though: weirdpaul.bandcamp.com/track/butthead
My toenail clippings smell like cheese
Z 28 wow
Weird Paul What's Your Middle Name
Allen.
Do You Still Play Guitar
All the time. I'm in a band and we play live a lot. I also have a new album coming out this year.
So what happened to your writer's block?
The story will continue at the end of October...
I thought you told me you dispised Netflix, so why did you put #StrangerThings as a hashtag? LOL
Also, remember this forgotten hit?: “You Don’t Know” by Scarlett and Black? (1988, No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100)
I boycott Netflix. But that's all the more reason to USE them as much as I can for my own personal gain.
I don't remember that song at all.
Do you like Neil Young?
He's great. For Christmas, I got a copy of his LP, "Everybody's Rockin'"
