Online Worship for the Week of June 29, 2024

It’s a given in our world that not everyone gets an invitation. Not everyone gets invited to the party, to join the team, to your dream job, or to be in the club. We also know the disappointment when someone else is invited that we don’t think deserves to be on the inside of the exclusive event. Jesus shares a Parable that shows God’s vision for us is very different. In the Kingdom of God, everyone gets an invitation, “the good and the bad.” God wants us all to join the party, but we must first accept the invitation. Then, we have to accept that those we don’t agree with have also been invited. When we accept God’s invitation, we discover we are connected, respected, valued, and loved just as we are and can then extend God’s invitation to everyone so that they may be connected, respected, valued, and loved.
