  • SURIN ISLANDS, THAILAND - Koh Surin (หมู่เกาะสุรินทร์) in the province of Phang Nga in Southern Thailand is paradise on Earth. That isn't an understatement. I took a snorkeling trip with Love Andaman from Khao Lak to visit Koh Surin National Park. It is home to some of the best diving Thailand and best snorkelling in Thailand. I had to make a decision between the Similan Islands and the Surin Islands and ended up choosing the Surin Islands. It was a good decision because I absolutely loved it. From the food to the people to the natural scenery, the snorkelling and beaches. It was simply an amazing day trip from Khao Lak. The ride there took about 1 hour and 10 minutes on a speed boat. Love Andaman was great and the tour included three snorkelling stops, lunch, snacks and a visit to a Moken tribal village who live right on the beach in the National Park. Moken, are an ancient sea-faring people who have roamed the Andaman Sea for thousands of years.

    What an amazing island! It's probably one of the most beautiful places for diving. The sand looks soft and clean and the underwater world is incredible. You were lucky that the beach was not too crowded despite the high season. I love this video especially the diving part ❤. It makes me want to fly to the south now. 🏝️

    • @hungrytoexplore
      @hungrytoexplore  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah! I think because everyone was having lunch, but I guess numbers are managed because it wasn't; overcrowded, even during peak season. If that is true, I am glad that Thailand does that. You should go :)

    The people on the island are not afraid of the sea but they have to listen to it and that is their salvation to avoid major problems. they learned this from their grandparents.

    I remember those days just around 20 years ago used to go bost trips around Similan, Bamboo, monkey and so many more Islands it was out of this world! So many exotic fish in so many different colours, shape, size. There were millions of them coming to you and touching hands and legs. Its beautiful found memories ive kept until today. Funny thing is I thought the whole world will be beautiful like in Thailand clear blue sea and golden white sand. Never been so disappointed ☹️ here is grey muddy and yucky. Missing Thailand. Enjoy your time there Joe. Thank you for beautiful content.

    That was a perfect weather! Bright blue sky and crystal clear water. About those local people, I heard they originally lived on a boat not hut and hopped around islands.

    The beach without trash is breathtakingly beautiful. You managed to present everything realistically, trashful beach and all. I wish the residents would take the time to clean up, you know, but I guess making a living is more important than beauty to them. 😢. Btw, you are perfect just as you are, if there is such thing as perfect. 😊

    • @hungrytoexplore
      @hungrytoexplore  11 месяцев назад +2

      yeah it sure is! That main national park area was completely stunning, perhaps the nicest beach that I have been on. It is a shame about the trash, but it is the sad reality of the world that we live in at the moment. Sure, the locals should take pride in it, but I think that comes from the top too. The intention to ensure these places are as they should be trickles down from the intentions set by a government. But yes, it was sad to see.

    the number 100 - 1,000 - 10,000 - 100,000 - 1,000,000 Thai people would say it informally by switch the words around roi nueng , pun nueng, muen nueng, san nueng and learn nueng. And you might hear another way that meant to be less like you say "just a hundred" they say roi deaw.

    The natives of Surin Island are the Mogan tribe. Thai people nickname them "Ocean Gypsy" . They was able to lead a group of tourists who were Thai movie stars to survive from sunami. Nobody talks about them much.
    .
    These people don't want to be on the mainland. Thai king said that he should be treated as much as ordinary Thais and live according to his way of life. So he gave them his ID card and gave them his surname "Kla Ta Le" which means brave sea dwellers
