    The skin texture on silicone really makes the statue stand out. The imperfection in skin looks realistic. Well done...

    Easily the Best Statue of Wonder Woman I ever saw but that price tag is so hefty.
    I have the JND Superman on order. I never owned one of their pieces and every day I consider cancelling because I'm not sure that price tag is worth it. Thing is, you and X are reviewers that don't sugar coat issues and tell it straight up how it is. If you two are satisfied with JND's Work, I'll give it a chance.

    • @artstatuecollector

      i'm not a fan boy of any company but i give the credit where it's due. there are certain statues from JND that i don't like but their recent products are getting better and you can see it. despite some QC issues that we see now and then, i think it's worth taking a chance if you already have it on pre order.

    Likeness and quality is better than 84. The paint application has improved drastically in 2 years. The paint is also I think more of the 84 classic suit from the movie so that’s why it brighter. People try to compare the two statues but if they made the same exact expression it wouldn’t be fun. IMO they nailed likeness with two different expressions. To me the best ww in any scale is this 1/3

    For me an important issue is longevity. A solid resin statue will hold its shape and unless it has delicate parts that are likely to get broken in a move, it will last for years or decades. Something like this has so many different parts and materials. Will some parts become brittle or discolored over time? Will sunlight or changes in humidity affect it? I'd like to see if it looks this good in ten years time, or twenty. And the hair, while realistic looking, has a lot of individual strands, and I wonder how that will hold up over time. If I was spending thousands of dollars on a display piece, I would want to know that it will last, and will look just as good on the shelf when I get old.

      A rubber sword. Unbelievable, considering how important the sword is to the character. Amazon has small metal swords that look like they would work, but that defeats the 4k price tag

  • @earlleary
    @earlleary 8 месяцев назад

    I think she looks exactly like Gal. It's a beautiful piece. I do agree the sword being made from rubber is not fitting for the piece . At that price , which is a little expensive, but it's determined by the buyer how much they really want it, the sword should be metal of some sort.
    The skin tone is so exquisite! It's dead on, looks like a real person.
    I'm not sure how I would want to display the shield. It completes her look when she is holding it, but it also looks great in It's stand, allowing you to see the full statue and details.
    Very cool collection you have my friend. My collection is 98% all horror , lol. With the exception of two Cat Woman pieces and The Batman that Laughs.

    @moneywastedcollecting 11 месяцев назад +5

    I don't really ever trip on pricing too much due to the fact if something is what I perceive to be too high I just won't get it, but it's so subjective when it comes to pricing and Logisitics, materials etc.... if the company and artists who did all the work feels it's worth that price and someone buys it, I guess they were right in the pricing. This video quality and editing is definitely worthy of some cheddar lol ! 💸Great vid, I agree though if it is going to be in that price range, the ES should probably be a little lower. Then it's one of those things in life where there are always going to be things some people can afford and some people can't, Like Audi isn't going to lower their price on the R8 because I want it cheaper lol, that's life.

      @artstatuecollector  11 месяцев назад +4

But for me it’s to pricey. But hey if you like it and you have the space and money to get it, then go ahead! The bottom line is we buy what we like! I still haven’t bought a Prime1Studio statue or Queen Studio statue because of space and price! But someday I will get that space and purchase one. Even if it’s one! I have a question? In person it looks fantastic though.
      I wish the blade was made of metal but I think it would have been to difficult to capture those tiny details with diecast. I think it might have to be laser etched with extreme precision. Also the weight might be an issue but not sure.

    The fact that there’s so much technology out now to get things done precisely, they should have implemented it on a statue like this even if it’s made with silicon,as you pay a premium price for not a perfect looking gal, they made her look prettier,its not source material, also I agree if they going to make the skirt stand out then there should have more vibrant red on her, maybe if the blue was darker then the blend would have looked fine.

    Let me start by saying your video quality is crazy good, looks like I can reach through the screen it's so real! Now to be picky, I've never understood the boots on some of the WW statues. Prime 1 WW vs Hydra is wearing these high heeled boots similar to this JND piece, to me it's a take away from what the statue is showing as a whole, if that makes sense? This is hyper real with battle damaged weapons and suit, and foot wear that is so unrealistic. For me, it's one of those features that doesn't make sense when so much of this piece and WW vs Hydra are supposed to be showing a battle ready warrior. I know it's probably movie accurate and I'm being petty to most but it's the one thing that doesn't fit. Aside from that, its an amazing piece that is setting the bar so much higher, but it's nothing I'd ever pay 4k for. Love the review!

      much appreciated bro! ❤haha you are one picky dude but yeah, i don't think the movies are made to make sense. most of these statues aren't really worth the price tag but since this is the first we ever saw a statue that is full of silicone and well made at the same time, it's worth it for me. let's see what QS will be coming out with this year!

      Silicon is hard to capture on film and the flaws are not as noticeable in hand. The camera exacerbates these flaws, like making her teeth look more pronounced than they really are.

    I couldn’t afford her, but I would say the price is worth it. She looks alive, and the size, this isn’t a little statue. I don’t see the pink, it looks red from the video. I agree the sword could have been made with real metal. You can definitely find more lower priced statues, but they will not look as good as this. The silicone skin and realistic hair. WOW Thank you 😮👍🏽👏🏽

    wow, 1000 pcs isn't really too limited though. For that price I would have expected more exclusivity. That's more than a lot of the common sideshow Premium Format runs which are typically 750. Looks amazing, but for that price it's a definitely no. I also agree with you that the red color needs to pop more. It's not eye catching enough. I'd be worried about how the silicon will hold up over time. I own a lot of TBLeague stuff and I haven't had any problems, but a lot of people have, but that's only $100-$200. I would have spent the money on like 3-4 1/4 statues personally. I just think at that edition size, you won't be making any money on this statue any time soon if you intend to resell in the future.
    Also, seeing all your statues in a glass room with all that sun exposure makes me very uneasy lol

    I absolutely don't care what the masses say about DC, Snyder, WW, Gal Gadot and superhero movies but Snyder's conception of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman will always be, in my opinion, one of the most compellingly convincing. Not perfect, but so beautiful. If only Snyder got to direct both WW movies instead.

    Brand new to your channel. You put a new shine on the "Go Big or Go Home" saying. 🙂 You have a new subscriber.
    For the figure, like most, $4200 is too rich for me, but it is a great looking piece. But when the component pieces are not what one would expect (rubber sword, etc.) and there are 1000 made, then even if I had such funds, I probably would not consider it. I'd pay that kind of money to have lunch with Gal herself, but not for a statue that misses on too many things.
    Fantastic presentation. I'm off to discover all your other videos. Be well and stay strong.

    I like the colors as they are, toned down so they look more realistic and less toyish. Awesome figure, I can't think of a more beautiful woman in the history of cinema than Gal. The price seems reasonable when you consider the quality.

    Will silicone decay over a shorter period of time! This might require more careful environmental control and care.

    Agree about the not-great red color on the costume. Doesn't pop enough. However, the likeness is really good. My big issue with this and any of these large silicone statues and busts is the HAIR. Is their any care and cleaning instructions because over time airborne dust, pollen, bacteria, and micro particles are going to adhere to the hair and at some point in the future it will be noticeable. Similarly.. cleaning such off the silicone. Maybe some don't care, but if I am dropping that much money on a figure withe non-molded hair... I really want to know how to maintain it from the inevitable dust that will find its way onto it.... even if you cant see it.

    This industry is based on the fact that manufacturers were selling to a select audience which is only so large. The industry began with a couple hundred dollar pieces and in recent years has soared to a few thousand depending on the piece. I think we are seeing the last years of statue collecting unless they rein in runaway prices. I've been collecting by the way for over 35 years.

    I think when the price is this high, it also comes down to why one is in the hobby. For most people, like myself, the hobby is just something one does to take a break from daily life and enjoy. So the question ultimately becomes whether I absolutely need to spend $4200 and whether the enjoyment is proportionate. In that regard, I feel that there is a lot of room to doubt the choice of spending that much money. With a lesser amount, one can get multiple good enough statues that provide the same level of enjoyment. So at a fundamental level, something like this feels like a bad purchase. Due to the nature of the hobby, that extra level of workmanship to merit the $4200 price tag does not offer a proportionately extra level of enjoyment that one couldn't get by multiple purchases of less expensive statues.

    Thanks for posting this video, great statue, well proportioned and sculpted. I agree that the sword could have been made of a metal instead of hard rubber. As for the pricing, given that her flesh is made of silicon, the price point would be justified.

    Back in the 1950s when I was a kid and I could get three used comic books for a silver dime I loved Wonder Woman and Blackhawk, my two favorite characters. Now in my late 70s, I still dream about being on the front porch of the house during the hot summers with my two friends reading our stack of comic books and sucking on a popsicle!
