- 1932 Bowtie Deuce Roadster. Although this hot rod created for SEMA 2005 may seem a little bit Ford and little bit Chevy, its DNA is pretty much all Corvette. Go under the hood with Jay for an up-close look at the high-output LS7 engine, tuned up to deliver 580+ hp.

the world is a better place cause of Jay Leno
Anybody who says get an automatic transmission is not a real car guy. Simple as that. There is nothing like a manual transmission. This car is awesome.
Fell in love with 32 fords when I was 7 or 8 years old. A neighbor, Bob Anderson, May he forever rest in peace, had one that had been in Hot Rod magazine three different times under three different builds. The last build he had put in a Chevy 350 to power the car. His was a three window coupe with the rumble seat which I always thought was so cool. He sold the car when he found out that he had cancer. Always hoped to find it myself and put it in my garage. This car, the Corvette inspired 32 Ford is an amazing build. Would love to have one just like it.
Jay, I have no……zero……..criticism of you. Only admiration. Not envy! Admiration‼️👍
I read yesterday in a German car magazine "The engine is for many more as the mover, he is the hart“. Of course he is, what else? No car shows this better as your beautiful Bowdie Deuce Roadster. Thanks for showing us so many special cars.
Just incredible. Hot rod could not be more "clean" than this. Fron all the car's Jay got this is one is on my top 10 by far.
This roadster is the missing link for Chevy guys. It has a Ford body with the backbone, heart & soul, and the chevy touches thoughout this roadster to be a Chevy. There's not a lot manufactures building hot rod replica's of this era for the die hard Chevy fans or any other major brands for that matter. It's great to see the thoughtfulness that went into this roadster to not only title it as a true Chevy using an orginal frame. But to maintain Chevy stock corvette emblems, suspension parts, grille, interior gauges, wheels, and more. It's a true tribute to what a 1932 Chevy hot rod roadster could be in a world where most Chevy guys have to settle for a full Ford replica with just a Chevy powerplant in it. Jay Leno's 1932 Chevy Roadster is bad to the bowtie!
"Especially when you have a big face!" This is why Jay Leno is impossible to hate. lol. He takes his shots at people but he takes his shots at himself as well! XD
Self deprecating. !!!!!
Jay's cars are the best. They mix the old and the new for incredible rides.
"The Holy Grail of Hot Rodding" !! What a piece of Rod roadster, a work of art!
Mmmmmmm....... mostly I don't care that much for hot rods . . . . . . but this thing is a work of art! Really. There are no unnecessary lines, no arbitrary embellishments yet it fulfills its function perfectly and invites the observer into a new experience. Mies van der Rohe would be proud.
Another old school guy that lived in Andover for 15 years, great car!
Jay, don't explain yourself. If someone watching isn't sure why you chose a six speed, then in my opinion, they don't deserve to be watching this channel. You're the greatest Jay
get off his nuttz
+Berna La why you talking about nuts for bro?
I don't care what anyone says, this is one sick deuce coupe! Love it Jay! :)
I'm 22 years old Jay and I get it buddy I get it gotta love goin through the gears
I do prefer it when Jay talks about his own cars because he puts far more effort in because he actually likes them
Its good to see that someone can make a roadster without all of the tubing sticking out of the car. Wish i had the kind of money Leno does because I would be doing the exact same things he is!
Being a Ford man, I really can't believe you'd own a Ford with so much Chevy stuff on it. All Ford/Chevy debates aside, there are plenty of awesome Ford parts that could be on that car to keep it all one brand.
10:53 living vicariously through Mr Leno. Thank you sir. That car makes me smile. "will it do a burnout? I'm pretty confident" hahaha, love it.
Agreed shifting makes you feel more connected to the vehicle more in control of the machine and its a hell of alot more fun
This is such an amazing car, I really love it. I volunteer to drive it once a week for you Jay. No burn outs.
Hi Jay this is one of my favourite sites ,I enjoy the fact that you always take the cars for a drive.Your collection of cars is great ,the passion you have for cars is wonderful and you see the good in all type of cars.Really a wonderful site
I've watched every video. This is by far my favorite car. LS7 + 6 speed man= awesome. Nice job
Jay looks right in this car, I love the E-types the most but I swear he gives a zen vibe riding around in this!
Jay, stick with the six speed gearbox. I'm old school too. This is a fun hot rod.
I'm with you guys
Where's the line? It's got a Corvette crate motor, a completely torn out suspension, power windows, disk brakes, and semi slick tires, but a gearbox that makes the car faster is suddenly "not old school"?
A car is either old-school or it's not, and this car is definitely not old school just because it has a Tremec. Nothing against manuals, they're fun, but I think it's pretty nonsense to talk like a semi-auto would suddenly cross the line from purebred classic deuce to whatever y'all are talking about. That line was crossed way before he even chose a gearbox.
I've only recently "discovered" Jay Leno's Garage - on RUclips. What a really fanastic show! Jay is so much more the genuine petrolhead enthusiast than the smarty pants boys on Top Gear. Jay, i don't know if you ever get to either read or know about these Comments, but thanks so much for sharing your with us your world of motor vehicles - a few more bikes would be good. Cheers Stephen
Jay is the Man and a class act! Seriously one of the most grounded Hollywood celebrities
HAS TO BE A STANDARD SHIFT! Thank you for sharing all of your AWESOME car's, and motorcycles and all of your SO cool mechanical engineering marvels!!!!!!!
What an absolute sweet thing that is! Gotta love a deuce coupe!! I love you, Jay! You're my hero.
Silver streaking . Gene and Richard would be proud .
I'm positive you've worked your butt off for many years and it's sure paid off! You have the coolest toys any man could dream about.
This is at least the 3rd time I've watched this episode i love this car the fact that you put a full hideaway top and power widows in it just makes it a usable car and the stuff u did to it in 05 makes it even better thanks Jay
Thank God it's a stick. Hat's off to you Jay for appreciating a manual gearbox.
Just clean clean clean, it actually takes a lot of work to get a car that clean, especially the engine compartment. I love that look without a bunch of stuff hanging all over the place. Nice.
I love that it is a manual. Like he said everyone puts automatics for ease. I bought a 283 Chevy with a 4 speed for my 32 roadster.
I like the Chevy flip open cooling vents on the engine side panels.
They were a great idea.
Just a beautiful car. That color is to die for. Thanks Jay.
That is one beautiful rod. Probably the finest I've seen. Kudos, Jay.
OH MY THAT BEAUTIFUL SOUND... SO classy
my favorite body style of all time. jay has excellent taste.
the dude running the Audio mixer needs to push up the Jay Channel allot more...
That is one great car... it’s not about what everyone else wants, but your own tastes. I love the shimmering paint. I would also have done the manual shift. Great job Jay.
What kind of money would it take to make another car just like this; with different paint scheme?
Thank you for sharing your love of cars.
Well on my country custom garage, they built the entire thing from scratch, and can scaled it accordingly to your budget, and the minimum amount that you can spend "just for the look" with slow engine is $19000
I agree. Stick shift is a lot more fun to drive. So we both are old school, and that is fine with me.
How I like cars to be: without a spec of dirt - fantastic!! Lovely car, love the colour too
I enjoy watching Jay have so much fun with his cars....
Back in the 80's I had a friend who had 35 1934 Fords in a barn in Saskatchewan. jay would have loved to see inside that barn
Jay is just the nicest guy for being well off..jay always keeps it real...
This is how you do a Rod ! Just perfect ! Beautiful.... Done right !
I love how happy he looks when he cruises by.
Ears exploded at 2:43 :/
-you are undecided about that?
I felt that..
@@fishhuntadventure I'm pretty sure our ears actually exploded....
12-21-13 -- WOW - THIS 1932 BOWTIE DEUCE ROADSTER -
WAS DESIGNED & MANUFACTURED BEFORE I WAS BORN IN 1938 :O
That Rod is so Rad! Awesome design , beautiful lines, Dependable mechanicals, Everything a Hot Rod should be! Well Done Jay, Well Done. JT. from Oregon { Use to have a 30 chev coupe and a 34 chev two door in high school }
This is my fav car, seen on this channel by far
Awesome car! I love going through the gears. There is nothing like driving a car with a proper "old school" manual transmission!
I agree with the stick shift comment Jay! I love my 6MT G35 Sedan, daily drive that thing in NY traffic and I LOVE it!
Agreed! Manual gearbox is the only way to go!
I've watched most of the episodes that have been made so far and THIS is the one car I really want to drive. It looks like real hoot!
Damn you Jay Leno!!!! Why must you live the life I dream of!!!
Just a beautiful, beautiful car.
Boy, it's good to be King.
He is sooo right about the six-speed. There is is nothing like "shifting" and having the "feel" of the car. Driver, motor, gas pedal, clutch, and sometimes the brake. You're one with the car. Bark those tires Jay..........
My Dad had a A model roadster when he was a young fellow, he and his mate were on an interstate road trip and a cop stepped out onto the road in front of them, the old man hit the mechanical brakes and the police officer had to jump for his life as they went sailing by, they pulled up about 100 yards down the road,he reversed back to see if the P/O was still alive and was told by the Police man to keep going because it was so fast for an A model that it must be in good nick. I think he may have been in shock.
Thank you for sharing a bit of your enviable life, Jay "Big Face" Leno.
You jealous, bro?
600 HP in that little, light weight car? SHEESHKABOB!
It's really an awesome buggy.
Absolutely agreed on the manual stick shift; It definitely makes you feel more connected to the car. When I was a kid you got an automatic because you didn't know how to drive.
I love how the floors are dirty. Shows that Jay actually drives the car.
A lot of criticism on here. They are his cars, he can do what he bloody well likes with them
Sure, nobody is saying he can't... People are also free to criticize them. I love 99% of the cars on here. This one, not so much.
I've got an LS1 with the Tremek 6-speed in my car... I LOVE that transmission.... it's the perfect compliment to the LS series motor.
I wonder how his mic picks up his talking but doesnt get drowned out by the open wind passing through. Impressive.
GOD I'd love to drive and own this car! Absolutely amazing. And like its already been said, Thank you for building a stick shift hot rod.
Gorgeous Machine well I guess, it covers the best of both worlds, modern and "vintage", Jay , owning any toy you want to, how about getting or building a true "Vintage" type Hot Rod, over size drum brakes, flatty w/ strombergs, stick + quickchange, old style suspension and steering (king pins), Tuck "n" Roll interior, with keeping in mind that's it a hot rod not a rat rod.
I know this is an older video. However, I hope someone from BASF sees this. Jay Leno's '32 Ford bodied Chevy frame/motor hot rod which he wasn't sure what the name of the silver was should be called Leno Silver. Same shade as his hair... Of which I am so jealous !!!
It's the most sensible and civilized hot rod I've ever seen! Still really cool though, that colour is wonderful. The rims and engine (appearance) are quite off though. That engine needs some blue instead of red, and the rims... I wouldn't even know. That noise though, great engine choice!
honnestly,if i would break into his garage, i wouldnt even know what to take! Such a nice collection of nice cars!
I am proud of you for keeping a manual transmission!
Nice one Jay ! Stick shift is for real drivers! 100% the way I would do it!
Amazing Hot Rod Jay, this would be my dream vehicle ! I love the combination of old school design and modern technology. Oh and for the person below asking about the seat belts - it has seat belts, but they clamp on Your waist area (look closely).
wow that blue pearl is amazingly beautiful
Whoever told you to put paddle shifters on a deuce deserves a slap on the face 😂 lol
Jay... That's the nicest 32 I have ever seen. So very clean. Your a very lucky man and really seem to know it as well. LOVE your cars and the videos.
If probably have done the 429 super cobra motor myself but hey, you got what you wanted out of it and that's the point
Absolutely gorgeous car , Jay has a true love & appreciation of the american muscle cars , and of course the money to own and play with them :P Great vid dude , keep up the great work ...
Love the look of the Deuce Bowtie. Has a great sound too.
overall sleek, simple, solid, and got powah!
No, I get it.
I love a standard transmission
After 50 years of driving, (all 2-doors with manual transmissions), I finally bought a 4-door, automatic. It's the 10th vehicle I've ever owned. I kept #9 though. Just for fun. :-)
Jay hasn't stayed in his lane in any video yet. lol
So true and drives forever with his turn signal on.
And he never has license plates on his street driving cars. DIPLOMAT IMMUNITY. !!!!!
Listen to the sound of that thing gooo by! Awesome!... Love It!
That LS7 provides all the tunes you need.
So much perfection in such a small car. I love it.
Sorry F40, I just found a new favorite ;)
I like how he can't say "It's really fast" without giggling 😂😂
That is just one of the coolest cars you got Jay. Cool factor 11
that...is the cleanest engine bay i have ever seen.
What a beautiful ride, sweet paint and well put together. Thanks for sharing Jay!
So glad to c a car that's not a rat rod
Surprised cuz I know Jay usually prefers original wheels or at least original style and these couldn't be further from that. These look like they belong on an early 2000s Honda or Toyota if we're honest
i love how he's careful not to melt the double yellow with his burnout.
When I drove into Jay's garage in my Ram 1500 Hemi (Atlantic Blue Pearl) he said "lets go for a ride."..........2150 by.......
YES!!! Manual Transmission
1-- What overheating problem???
2-- Clutch went out? $400. It'll be ready tomorrow. All done at home
3-- Transmission works right? I'll let you know in 10 minutes
You can keep every last auto transmission ever made.
Sincerely,! CLUTCH_:AND STICK
thing was chirpin the tires on the highway! lol! this thing is just FLAWLESS J.. i mean really, its perfect in every way
Agree with you 100% regarding the gearbox, Jay
Dam I think it looks more badass with the top on
