I loved the fourth one, the second was beautiful and the flavor sounded amazing, the first one was cute and had an interesting flavor… the 3rd one was lacklustre to me especially the flavor pairing.

@kyothinks I've seen some creepy and gross ones on social media. Some that looked more suited to halloween than a baby shower. I don't get grossed out easily but I don't want to eat a cake that looks like a baby coming out of a vagina. 😝

@thejonnycakes went to a baby shower where the mum had done a cake that was supposed to look like a baby in the womb cutting into it - was red velvet but the red was more like BLOOD RED so it was extremely unhinged. Everyone felt uncomfortable "eating" her baby.

Im curious where ppl live that a bussiness selling 500$ cakes is common enough to merrit a bakery. I cant imagine your making sheet cakes one minute then these specialist cakes the next.
@meganwerner-gn9mm I don't know if Spirit has a bakery in the traditional sense. I think she bakes mostly custom cakes but doesn't appear to have a storefront like most bakeries. I think she might have a team to help with orders, but I don't think you can just waltz up and pick up a cake from her shop. I looked at her website, all custom cakes start at $500 but her work is PHENOMONAL.
4th cake deserved the win, no doubt, but I'm still a little surprised with 2 being equally good for less than half the price that that didn't earn 2 the edge.
The price was shocking but 4 did have that extra something special! It was honestly almost too close to call.
I agree with you that cake #4 should have won by a bigger landslide. Which obviously means, I disagree with you Johnny, it was not too close to call.. In my humble opinion, of course.

fun fact: cupid is not a child. he is the romanization of the Greek god Eros, son of Aphrodite and Apollo. the cute little babies with wings are called cherubs. Cherubs are based on cherubim, a Christian biblical angel described as "winged, human-like being with four faces and four wings." now, when that became a tiny winged baby in a diaper? I have no clue. but because their description as cherubs is similar to cupids, people tend to mistake cherubs as cupid.

I would usually see $500 and think it's too much, especially for something that'll be gone in a couple hours, but BUT that last cake was so phenomenally beautiful. The attention to detail was incredible. All the cakes this episode were really good in their own right as well.

The fourth cake was everything I thought a high quality, expensive, fancy cake should be. It's like a light lit in my brain and was "You CAN do art with cake" and finally I believed it.
Cake designs #2 and #4 were my favorites. But then I heard the flavors...now I have to try making those flavor combos 😍
Both flavors were out of control.
I'm super impressed with how straight the arrow looks in the heart cake. It's two pieces stuck in, and they obviously took great care to ensure they lined up perfectly with each other.

If it makes you feel better, the original Cupid, which comes from early Greek mythology, was not a child, he was actually Eros, god of desire. He actually was considered one of the most dangerous gods, since he could manipulate people with his powers. During the late Greek and early Roman era, they tried to minimize his mythos by making him a mama's boy and eventually a child, changing his ability from Desire to romance.
