    His 50.65 is a ASU school record that’s ridiculous

      Sorry to ask that but why is it more spectacular than the record he just beat ?

      @Tanguy_Balluais well hes swimming a longer distance, so going out that fast for a split is crazy

      Too bad he couldn’t swim the 100 as well, probably would have taken first and broken 50… dude is crazy

      @Tanguy I think he may have been saying his 1st 100 was a school record.

      @zeppo4169 yeah I think that is what he meant and that is ridiculous.

    His 100m split would have placed him second at this Ncaas! There is no doubt he would have also broken the 100m record if he swam it. To make clear how ridiculous this time is. Corbeau who placed second behind him was only able to swim a 50,7 hundert meter time. Leon was faster than him with his split! That’s how dominant he is 🥶

      I agree with all of your points, but his 100 split of 50.65 would've placed him 3rd in the 100 (2nd was 50.60, 3rd was 50.78).

    • @Rowingfan
      @Rowingfan 2 years ago +2

      @EricAngle yes you are right he was a fiew hunderts of a second slower

    He would've won this at worlds if he would've swam it

    • @speedingAtI94
      @speedingAtI94 2 years ago +1

      don't be ridiculous. short course yard is almost like a different sport than long course meter. a lot of short yard kings in US failed miserably in long courses.

    • @sethaldrich6902
      @sethaldrich6902 2 years ago +4

      @speedingAtI94 and yet he took down Michael Phelp's world record in the 400IM long course so he is clearly not one of those people. In addition, at the French championships, unrested, he went 2:06 only a second off of what the Chinese guy did at worlds. So def wouldn't call it ridiculous. Guess you're not much of a swim fan and don't know much about Leon Marchand.

    • @speedingAtI94
      @speedingAtI94 2 years ago

      @sethaldrich6902 1 second is a big difference in swimming. Each race is different because each pool is different. If he can win 200 meter long, he would have done it. Hypothetical swimming wins are meaningless.

    • @sethaldrich6902
      @sethaldrich6902 2 years ago +3

      @speedingAtI94 clearly you've never swam, shave and taper drops two seconds sometimes more. He didn't swim it bc he choose to swim the 200 IM which was the event before the 200 breast so he couldn't do both at world championships. Hes definitely proven he can swim in both pools and is a threat to take down the world record .

    • @JakeClark3672
      @JakeClark3672 2 years ago +3

      @speedingAtI94He didn’t swim the 200 Breast because it was literal minutes away from either the 200 Fly or 200 IM, can’t remember which one. So the logic “if he could win he would’ve done it” doesn’t really make sense. And yeah hypothetical swims don’t necessarily “mean” anything but it’s also not anywhere near “ridiculous” to say that Léon could have won if he’d swam it.
