I'm glad that you are one of the handful of people that embody the beauty of the old, but forgotten golden age of violin. As a 17 year old violinist myself, you are one of the few contemporary violinists I look up to.

Mr. Troussov now "owns" this piece. No one alive on the planet - in my opinion - plays it better or more beautifully. No one. He matches the searing, white hot intensity and the declamatory lyricism that only Jascha Heifetz was able to evoke in a previous generation. But make no mistake, Mr. Troussov is his own man. His sound and approach to the music are uniquely his. I'm not reminded of Heifetz when I hear and see Mr. Troussov play. And from a purely pedagogical perspective, Mr. Troussov's form and style are absolutely perfect. No shoulder rest (old school!) and his command of the bow is wondrous to behold. A truly elegant artist of the highest order and a true "keeper of the flame" in carrying the great tradition of violin playing into the 21st century. Bravo Mr. Troussov!

Dear Mr. Saldarriaga, thank you very much for your special comment. I am truly thankful for your detailed words on my style and my playing. I was always fascinated by the old school of playing the violin, and have been searching for many years on this subject. All my best wishes to you, Kirill Troussov

@@KirillTroussov_violinist Dear Sir, I'm delighted and honored by your kind reply! Your artistry is very inspiring to me. Your phrasing is carefully thought out and beautifully crafted, without it seeming contrived or affected. It is honest, authentic, and refreshing. And your sound, like the great artists of the Golden Age, is opulent, brilliant and in natural resonance with your violin. It is never forced or cloying. Your performance of the Scottish Fantasy is deeply moving and I'm very grateful to you for having uploaded this wonderful video on RUclips. I wish you great success in your career always. Warm greetings from your friend (and fellow violinist) in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida (USA)!

I always loved this piece and this is wonderfully performed.
If Bruch was on he was ON. A painfully neglected composer who mainly exists in the repertoire with only two works, but who wrote many others that were not too shabby either. All of his concert pieces have their own special charm. His 3 violinconcertos, his Doubleconcerto for Viola and Clarinet, his Serenade for Violin and Orchestra, are all marvellous. But also his Fantasypieces for Viola, Clarinet and Piano his Octet for Strings (his last work written in the 1920's and still holding on to german romanticism when all others had abandoned it)

How refreshing to hear a performance with so many personal touches- totally sincere and genuinely felt and expressed; and, on top of that, that rare alive vibrato with total flexibility in the fingerpad- full of ardor and passion- every note sung beautifully! Not since Jascha Heifetz, Erick Friedman, David Nadien, and the never-to-be-forgotten Camilla Wicks, have we heard this sound. I am so grateful that you have preserved this soulful sound as part of your artistry. And your masterclasses are wonderful as well- demonstrated with passion and genuine interest in bringing out the very best in your students, because you clearly strive for the best in yourself and totally commit to the music. Bravo a thousand times over!

Welch wunderbare Musik in vollendeter Darbietung!

Extraordinary! Bravo! I came looking for Beethoven, but clearly Mr Troussov, you played him for breakfast! Perhaps, sometime, Harold in Italy? My favorite performance was at a Julliard, a graduate competition, but the clear winner was voted down by 2 of 3 judge, for lacking personal embellishment. No recording makes for such a bitter sweet reminiscence.

awesome performance! that's just about the way i would play it if i had the talent. and i like the Heifetz cuts in the last mov. not crazy with the slurred bowing at 23:55 - it really needs to be separate bows for maximum virtuosity, like a bat out of hell, the way Heifetz plays it.
