I'm glad that you are one of the handful of people that embody the beauty of the old, but forgotten golden age of violin. As a 17 year old violinist myself, you are one of the few contemporary violinists I look up to.
Mr. Troussov now "owns" this piece. No one alive on the planet - in my opinion - plays it better or more beautifully. No one. He matches the searing, white hot intensity and the declamatory lyricism that only Jascha Heifetz was able to evoke in a previous generation. But make no mistake, Mr. Troussov is his own man. His sound and approach to the music are uniquely his. I'm not reminded of Heifetz when I hear and see Mr. Troussov play. And from a purely pedagogical perspective, Mr. Troussov's form and style are absolutely perfect. No shoulder rest (old school!) and his command of the bow is wondrous to behold. A truly elegant artist of the highest order and a true "keeper of the flame" in carrying the great tradition of violin playing into the 21st century. Bravo Mr. Troussov!
Dear Mr. Saldarriaga, thank you very much for your special comment. I am truly thankful for your detailed words on my style and my playing. I was always fascinated by the old school of playing the violin, and have been searching for many years on this subject. All my best wishes to you, Kirill Troussov
@@KirillTroussov_violinist Dear Sir, I'm delighted and honored by your kind reply! Your artistry is very inspiring to me. Your phrasing is carefully thought out and beautifully crafted, without it seeming contrived or affected. It is honest, authentic, and refreshing. And your sound, like the great artists of the Golden Age, is opulent, brilliant and in natural resonance with your violin. It is never forced or cloying. Your performance of the Scottish Fantasy is deeply moving and I'm very grateful to you for having uploaded this wonderful video on RUclips. I wish you great success in your career always. Warm greetings from your friend (and fellow violinist) in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida (USA)!
Sì, Sir Kirill Troussov è il Re dei Violinisti👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻💪🏻💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🙏♥️♥️🙏🙏♥️♥️
I always loved this piece and this is wonderfully performed. If Bruch was on he was ON. A painfully neglected composer who mainly exists in the repertoire with only two works, but who wrote many others that were not too shabby either. All of his concert pieces have their own special charm. His 3 violinconcertos, his Doubleconcerto for Viola and Clarinet, his Serenade for Violin and Orchestra, are all marvellous. But also his Fantasypieces for Viola, Clarinet and Piano his Octet for Strings (his last work written in the 1920's and still holding on to german romanticism when all others had abandoned it)
My teacher studied violin with Igor Oistrakh, I recognise in this recording the perfect blend between the heritage of the golden age of violin and a great personal vision. . K. T became one of my favourite violonist and a great inspiration!
Since 1968 I fell in Asolute Love withe Scottish Fantasy and Heifitz's rendition, you have made this piece yours. To this day Bruch makes me cry on this wonderful piece, my level of playing won't allow me to play it as much I would LOVE to. Thanks for giving us yours.
Kirill...you are a new favorite violinist of mine. Congratulations for this amazing performance and thanks for your contribution to the world of music.
How refreshing to hear a performance with so many personal touches- totally sincere and genuinely felt and expressed; and, on top of that, that rare alive vibrato with total flexibility in the fingerpad- full of ardor and passion- every note sung beautifully! Not since Jascha Heifetz, Erick Friedman, David Nadien, and the never-to-be-forgotten Camilla Wicks, have we heard this sound. I am so grateful that you have preserved this soulful sound as part of your artistry. And your masterclasses are wonderful as well- demonstrated with passion and genuine interest in bringing out the very best in your students, because you clearly strive for the best in yourself and totally commit to the music. Bravo a thousand times over!
I accidentally saw you on RUclips in a masterclass and I was happy to see her play that way, besides a beautiful man a great violinist .... it seems that you were born with the violin ...! only your mouth is missing from your violin ... your violin speaks loud and clear .... long life to you I hope that also in seeing your videos you will transmit your skill ....❤️👏👏👏👏
There is no better performance of this piece imaginable. The skill in his playing is only surpassed by the heart, soul, and spirit that brings all of the notes to life. Bravo to Kirill Troussov!!!
Welch wunderbare Musik in vollendeter Darbietung!
Extraordinary! Bravo! I came looking for Beethoven, but clearly Mr Troussov, you played him for breakfast! Perhaps, sometime, Harold in Italy? My favorite performance was at a Julliard, a graduate competition, but the clear winner was voted down by 2 of 3 judge, for lacking personal embellishment. No recording makes for such a bitter sweet reminiscence.
Wow! A truly stunning performance this is!!! Technically brilliant and so poetic. You have a very identifiable personal style, like Heifetz and Gitlis - your treatment of dynamics, sound, rhythm, and vibrato are unique.
awesome performance! that's just about the way i would play it if i had the talent. and i like the Heifetz cuts in the last mov. not crazy with the slurred bowing at 23:55 - it really needs to be separate bows for maximum virtuosity, like a bat out of hell, the way Heifetz plays it.
So I found this video again after 1 year. Absolutely wonderful interpretation, probably my nr 1 favorite interpretation of this. I also really like the Stefan Jackiw version of this piece.
Beautiful timing and phrasing Maestro, making the piece an absolute joy to listen to! And it sounds totally natural 'like I can almost hear the words sung in the melodies'!❤ Unfortunately the intonation of some wind instruments is a bit of a 'jammer'😅
Sir, I'm really really your fan.Your sound that i think very strong and sensitive. So, I curious about What kind of stings you use. I really wonder.. Please answer my asking~
Hi, thank you for your nice comment!Regarding the strings. On this recording I use Thomastik Infeld orange G and D String. Titanium Vision Solo A string, also by Thomastik and Warchal Amber E string. All best wishes! Kirill
Kirill is great violist and need more recording with London philharmonic for Bruch especially. I think more rational and neutral Orchestra and conductor could back him up nicely.for Bruch violin works.
Wow, not many people have the old school sound, which is my favorite. Bravo
Thanks!!!
Of everything I listened to that you’ve recorded, Bruch’s Scottish symphony is my all time favorite. Thank you. 🤩
I love this piece😀
Wow, I could listen in this piece only Heifetz. Now I enjoy two players. Congratulations
A very kind comment!Heifetz is one my very favourite:)!Thanks!

I agree with this comment. I sense some Kogan and Szeryng in him too. But there is nothing imitative in his playing. He has his own unique sound.

Indeed Mr Troussov now owns this piece forever. Noone can come close, not even Heifetz.
Thank you!
Played with such skill, understanding and great feeling. Superb performance, quality and intonation and expression second to none.
Thank you very much!
I consider it a privilege to have received the answer. Thank you so much
🎻
If I could own but one performance of this masterpiece, it would be of this day, this orchestra/conductor, and this stunning, virtuosic violinist!
🙏
Love this - for me this is the best rendition of Scottish Fantasy on RUclips

Thank you for the comment, will find out the name of the harpist!
WoW ! Exceptional playing and you have such a pleasing sounding violin. Who is the maker of the violin?
Its a Stradivarius. Thanks for your comment!

Nice.
wow!
Great performance, bug very different from Heifetz
Kudos to the harpist. She had quite a workout.
He should backed up by the Berlin Phil, Concertgebouw, NY Phil, etc. And he should be playing a top del Gesu. My 2 cents.
A thrill
Thx:)

Made my eyes wet. Sounded like Heifetz was alive again. Very similar intense sounding technique on the bow.
Thank you🙏😇
So impressive, I really enjoyed. Thanks.
Nice to see Russian bow grip again.
:)
Sounds like a Spaniard
