I'd love to see more of a chevron pattern rather than diagonal lines it'd look so cool when moving, i imagine it would look like a fuzzy tv signal or something
Isidora Espinoza I was thinking that too. Especially that back panel would look cool in a v or a w so that you could get rainbow stripes no matter which direction you pull it.
@@MommyOfZoeAndLiam I was thinking that same idea! Also, the styling could have done a different side parting on the rainbow side, pulled across to the solid side. And how cool would it be on a solid fashion color. Ooh! Pink and pastels!!!🎀🦄🌈💖🎨
Love that! I hid a tattoo from my father for 15 years! He finally saw it by accident, grabbed a WINDEX BOTTLE and chased me trying to “wash it off”. No, I’m not Greek, he thought it was a “lick on”. Ohhhh Fathers, we gotta love em!♥️
It’s true what you say about “work society” becoming more accepting of funky hair and tattoos. I work in a traditionally conservative industry and in a specific company that’s always been pretty conservative. Even within my work environment, I can hardly believe how much more accepting people have become of what everyone used to deem unprofessional. I’ve watched the dress code get more and more relaxed since I started there 7 years ago, and they’ve done away with almost all of the rules about piercings. And people still respect us and want to do business with us! I think most of it has been driven by people willing to stand up and be like, “I’m an awesome employee, and having colourful hair, facial piercings, or visible tattoos doesn’t change that.”
It's true. But I have no tats and I have both types of clients. It's not about what *I* look like. It's about how I can slay your hair! WOOT!. Anyway, those are my thoughts, and I will maintain my tat-less body and conservative one-length bob, but I am going to do this on some of my clients who march to their own drummer.
About 10 years ago when I was on vacation in Philadelphia I asked a hair stylist if she could hide color. I told her what I wanted. Basically the back section of hair red. So when I curled my hair it popped. Worked out wonderful. Hairstylist said she never would have thought to do that. Glad to see you're doing it.
There something about your face shape I think that suits that amazing hair color! Its extremely flattering and makes your skin look as smooth as butter!
You know what's crazy? I just saw the community post for this and came to check to see if to was up. And I arrive within 5 minutes of this being uploaded. What a coinkadink
It's been around 4 years since I've had any crazy colours in my hair. I've had kids and gone back to my natural colour to give my hair a break. IT IS READY FOR THIS!!!!
I want to believe that you hit one million subscribers by this time next year. I believe in you that much. You are so real and passionate and lovely and calm and you have an amazing auroa about you and so many positive vibes... just putting it out there and i sincerely believe you can do it. Love you so much. Your videos make me happy and calm like a meditation and you give me inspiration to be a better me
I wonder... I doubt you would get the same kind of result, but I bet you could get an amazing rainbow effect just by making the color strips thicker. Of course, this would probably require you to have pretty long curly hair in order to add a whole bunch of colors. I mean, it's unfortunate that some looks just aren't gonna work between curly verses straight. But that would be my guess is instead of the really narrow strips of color to make each color in the rainbow wider....
the world needs people like you because i would never have the patience for this sort of thing! lol gosh that diagonal is sooo pretty and worth all the work.
I love your channel.. you havent turned into a big beauty guru (yet).. and I know you are going to change as you grow but seeing someone in this still small platform that you KNOW is meant to succeed in this community is a rare treat.
The mesh strips disclaimer was pretty cool. Also how you like when people who are not stylists or colorists try to use your techniques. It seems very real and humble of you in this day and age 💎 also you have to know that a lot of people who enjoy this type of hair are not going to a salon to keep it up or change it as mich as we like ❤ thank you
I would love to see how you would approach this process on human hair wigs, because you're dealing with the issue of having gaps in between the wefts... I'm just now getting into making wigs, and naturally, the next step would be playing with colors. Also, thank you so much for offering your skills/tutorials to encourage others to learn. It's a competitive market - to help others, when you could keep your tricks to yourself, shows a big heart. And OMG your bangs in this video have me hypnotized!
It is so relaxing to watch it when she is creating the color stripes. And I like listening to her explanations because you notice she really understands about her work and likes doing it. Thanks for sharing it with us! 🥰
I like the combined back and side panels. Only thing I would change would to have the color all the way to the hair line so a ponytail or high bun would show off the color.
MommyOfZoeAndLiam I also live in St. Louis like her, but I would feel weird sharing rates. I feel like it’s so different for each customer, and I wouldn’t want to share info that could be misconstrued or cause headaches for her or other similar hairdressers. If she isn’t sharing that info publicly, then I won’t either. Sorry, I hope you understand.
LOVE that you’ve done this video!! I’ve been looking for ideas for hidden hair colour and this is exactly what I was looking for! Love your work, can’t wait to see more!
Love this.. hidden hair color allows for this fun expression. I have done this for the last 5 or more years and it is typically not acceptable in my industry. I took cues from reactions.., if I get someone who says wow your hair is bright! That’s crossing the line... but if I get comments about omg I love your hair... because they are surprised by subtlety.... Your artistry is amazing!
I love this! Thank you so much for your content and creativity! I change my hair every year for my birthday (1/1) so I’ve been trying to think that to do next year...you’ve inspired me to make this the year of the rainbow fringe!
I'm doing both with arctic fox poison underneath my blonde hair soon. I'm mad excited. I'm not trying to hide it, I'm just not brave enough to dye it fully in case it doesn't fade nicely.
I used to do thd two tone hair (copper-red and red-plum brown) but your mermaid video inspired me to do that (a bright copper/ginger and a deep warm purple) but also take a sliver of hair up and slightly over my part (like the rainbow but a little smaller). Those side peekaboos though.....
You’re so awesome and I’m learning a lot from your content I’m making a wig and I’m gonna use this technique to keep it black but have that splash of colorrrr. Jesus loves you and thinks you’re a total rock start! So do I!
I LOVE THIS!!! I'm one of those that my work frowns on crazy color. But if I can tuck it up underneath, so it's not as identifiable, I think I can get away with that!! Woohoo!!
So pretty! I'm lucky to have jobs that don't care about hair color or tattoos. I work in live entertainment running lighting boards, spotlights, and doing things like wardrobe and props. Most road crew that comes in looks like the rest of us stagehands...weird. Haha! Weird in the very best of ways. I'm about to do a sunset look today and am gonna try to use some of your techniques...not sure what's gonna happen, but I'm hoping for the best! Thank you for all that you do! You are an inspiration!
I think you nailed it! I would call it more of an oil slick color technique. Dope!!! Can"t wait to try it! The new updated mullet. party in the back....or front.
I've had underlit purple since 2007...thankfully when i got hired at my doctor office job in 2012 they didn't care as long as i can conceal it. My top layers are pretty light and every now and then when i re-dye my dry crispy blonde ends get a lil color bleed...but after a few washes it fades to a nice ash which is what i prefer
I have virgin hair and have been so scared to do anything to it but lately I’ve been getting so bored with it. I chopped off 12inches to donate after having long hair all my life. Now I wanna dabble in color and after watching this you gave me the idea to do it on both sides and underneath. So I can have dyed hair but won’t be a huge change.

I normally lighten my tips and put pink in it cuz i love pink and I'm a rebel and i would threaten my work with the union if they had an issue with my hair colour or tattoos
