I backpacked from packwood lake over old snowy to the other side of the goat rocks in 2012. One of the most magical places I’ve ever been. Some of the biggest oldest trees I’ve ever seen are around that lake.
That's really cool you did that.. and it's funny too, because I was just thinking this morning that I wanna do something similar this summer. Start at Conrad meadow go over Gilbert peak, maybe Old snowy and Johnson peak. And finish by Packwood lake. I'm thinking 5 days or so..
I camped there first time a 6 years ago.. I was wondering if I can climb that Johnson peak there at the time. I did it 2 months later.. lol. I love the entire area.

Tak jsem se Pavli konečně dostala k tomu ,abych se v klidu podívala na Tvůj filmík ..Já si tak vždy oddechnu a naberu sílu , když se tak procházím s tebou v nádherné skoro nedotknutelné přírodě. Závidím Ti Tvou "svobodu "pohybu ..odjet jet si kam chceš a kdy chceš ..Ta příroda je nádherná a jen mně mrzí že jsem velmi omezena na pohybu a tak jsem Ti vlastně moc vděčná, že díky Tobě mohu tu krásu s tebou absolvovat!! Budu se těšit zase na pozvání...

Yes. It depends on the year. I remember hiking there in late November with no snow. September should be definitely ok.
