It's a very descent buy! Super value for money. I think above 140kms it seems to hesitate for more speed.. But maybe the engine needs more mileage to perform better! Cheers mate.
Above 140 km/h it is a bit slower indeed. Then again, over here 100 km/h is allowed during daytime. I don't think the engine will perform better over time.
BTW I think transmission sucks on this scooter. I had 300cc scooter before and it could reach 150. If you would change variomat on your I bet it could go 170-180.
@@MotoSnax Going 170 or 180 isn't issue. Real issue with this scooter/transmision is that it struggles above 120-130, where T-Max and AK550 power trough, so you are lacking in spare power when you need the most. 60-100 and 120-150
The TL in this video has 465cc. TMAX has more. TMAX costs more. TMAX is more refined. You can't compare the two and SYM cannot compete to Yamaha. I don't have experience with the AK 550 but I see the AK has more power than this TL500. It depends on where you live and how fast the other traffic is driving on the freeway. Over here during daytime it is restricted to 100 km/h, in the evening and night at some parts it is 130 km/h. I understand what you are saying that it struggles above 130 km/h and you are right. So if you need more, you have to buy something else. 😁
It's called: The lazy and good-natured version of the Yamaha TMAX, the tmax may look mean, wild and energetic in performance and faster than the maxsym 500tl/503tl.
@@MotoSnax Yes, I agree with you, but old versions of TMax are usually a little cheaper than new ones, and even their price may be close to or less than sym maxsym 508/500, but they are still good in terms of efficiency, speed, and performance despite their age. In my country, old versions of Tmax are sold. Such as 500 and 530, xp, iron max and others at a price that is almost cheaper than new. But in terms of getting a quiet, low-risk, comfortable scooter that I rarely spend on, or whose spare parts may be reasonably priced (unlike the tmax), I will choose the sym maxsym 500tl/508.
Also important to check the maintenance chart. Those cheaper brands sometimes tend to need more maintenance. So cheaper to buy, more expensive to maintain.
@@MotoSnax the best choice ever is the old version of the Yamaha TMAX like 500 and 530 , those are almost cheaper in my country . But yes, you are right. I'm starting a new channel and I want to make Vlogs from the motorcycle...kind of podcasts but from the bike... I remember that you use Drift cameras...as I will need to use a external microphone I thought it will be a good purchase.
Ghost X and XL have some sound issues. The recording level is really low, so you will have to increase sound level in post edit. I have mentioned this a long time ago to Drift but they won't do anything about it. In fact the XL has the same issue. They are not the best cameras but they are the only one with rotatable lens and decent shape. Wearing a GoPro on the side of the helmet looks ridiculous. As soon as GoPro starts making bullet shaped cameras with rotatable lenses, Drift is done for. They will release the Drift Ghost 4K+ soon, but the only difference with the older 4K is that it supports Huawei phones or something like that. I would have have made more changes (like better stabilization, fully waterproof like XL etc). So I love the cameras but I also hate them for not being better. :D Check out the Ghost X review on my website (you will need a translator). www.startersmotor.nl/overig/driftghost-x.php By the way I would buy the XL instead of the X. Has longer lasting battery and is waterproof.
@@MotoSnax Many thanks. I think that with the external microphone near my mouth the sound will be enough....as about the exterior sound is tricky because I do not want wind noise. I tried a chest mount but it's a fixed view...in the helmet is better...my only fear is always the same....the glue has the power to fix the Drift? I imagine the camera falling off the helmet...:/...(as your GPS flown away from your mirror mount) .
The mount that Drift provides has got 3M adhesives, those are STRONG. Last for years and 200 km/h is no match. So don't worry about it. Just be sure your helmet is not greasy. It should be clean and dry, attach mount. Let it sit for 24 hrs and then attach the camera to it. If you place the mic in your helmet you might have less problems but recording exhaust sounds while riding was more difficult on the X and XL than on the 4K and the Ghost-S I used before that.
Different frame perhaps? B-brand bikes usually weigh more and need more maintenance. That is why they are cheaper than their counterparts. By the way you don't really notice 223 kg if you are riding. The TMAX also weighs about 218 kg or so and has got 48 ps.
