soo glad i found you all thru nate and katie a refreshing channel worth watching been following since you started to help nate what a godsend !!!
Thanks for hanging out with us! Nate and Katie are good people and I was more than happy to use my skills and help them out a little.
Beautiful trees! Agree to buy local, better overall prices and always tastes so much better from a great butcher! Happy Days! Cool, get to see you work on the elderberries! ❤👏👏🥰
Thank you! No sense in buying meat from around the world when you can basically get it from a neighbor. More than likely a whole lot healthier for us too :) Elderberry and honey will give ya a little boost and help keep the cold bug away.
Have a great one!
I totally agree with buying local. I do so whenever I can. I need to check my elderberry bushes. Thanks for the reminder 💜
Sorry it took so long to reply! Don't forget about your elderberry. They are about to fizzle out around here.
Good morning you guys make a great team, I enjoy watching your videos. 😊
Thank you! Sorry it to so long to reply! We have a lot going on and a week goes by before we know it.
Have a great evening and thanks for coming along:)
Yes I understand fully that homesteading is a full time job and then some lol. Have a great rest of your day😊
i really do enjoy your channel no crud just life hugssssssss
Thank you! No time for crud here! :) You never know, could be gone tomorrow and I wanna go out with a grin :)
Enjoyed your video. 💚
Thank you!
I have one of those stools and it’s great. The best part is you can push yourself up from the kneeling position when there is nothing to hang onto.
That's great! I find the older I get the harder it is to get away from gravity :)
Hello,
I love how open your kitchen is and that you have a great view of outside. Also, I have the same freezer as you do and I have been buying meat and etc...such a great unit.
Thank you! The kitchen/living room is where we spend most of our time indoors, so we wanted it as open and airy as we could make it.
It's always nice having plenty of food just a few steps away:)
Elderberry jelly is my absolute favorite. My daughter keeps an eye out for it for me. Hard to find but worth it😊
We'll have to try and make jelly next year. Elderberry is very abundant around our place.
I'm planning my elderberries today. Sitting here trying to figure out where in my urban yard they should go. It's going to be awhile before I get fruit but I will have them very local at some point!
I hope you have alarms on those freezers. With neither one being in main house, an outage could go unnoticed.
We do not have alarms but that is a good idea for us to think about! One of us is in kitchen at least once a day so we do keep somewhat of an eye on them.
Thanks for the comment though! It is something to think about.
Wondering why you have to lime to grow grass...3 trays of elderberries looked like hardly any in that jar...enjoyed ❤ Bonnie
I just put some where I had cleared a lot of cedar trees. That many cedar trees for 30+ years makes the soil rather acidic. It helps stabilize the soil PH and helps the natural grasses grow back quicker.
It does take a lot of elderberries to make much of anything. We still have some from last year and this is just enough to get us thru the cold/flu season. We actually have been picking some here and there and throwing over to the chickens for some good immune health.
Thanks for your input!
