  • Assembly of the ZF5HP19 FL Part 2. This transmission was installed on Audi/VW up to about model year 2005 on the Passat in some versions and up to 2002 on the A4 and A6. The 4 wheel version "5HP19FLA" is not much different assembly wise. The version for rear wheel drive vehicles like BMW's is not much different either. BMW called it A5S310Z or the A5S325Z depending on engine size. Porsche also used the 5HP19 in the earlier Boxter.

I have repaired my transmission using your tutorial, thanks for it, never the last when I have returned the transmission to the vehicle nothing worked, do I need to reprogram the transmission?, this is a Audi A4, 1.8 Turbo 2002, thanks in advance for your support.

I cannot say why your tranny did not work. If you followed the instruction you should have succeeded. The tranny have some critical areas needing attention during assembly. The lower part of the tranny must be properly seated to mate the clutches with the supply from the valve body, the upper section as well. The pump supply unit, through which the clutches in the upper part of the tranny are fed, must be assembled correctly and seated in the housing. If this is not done properly, no lockup will be possible. The same goes for the lower end. I assume you did the clutch packs properly. Finally, take a look at your valve body. It must be seated flat against the tranny. This is what we use for the old A4's without fail. Check over your work.
