This is the best ceiling paint I ever used. I did one coat on my son's bedroom ceiling and covered completely! They did sell it to me but said next time a contractor would have to buy it. I paint everything myself
It is very good, the key is finding a product that dries dead flat. Even most flat paints have a little bit of a sheen that could be a problem. Benjamin Moore has a waterborne paint that dries like CHB as well. After 35 years I’m still always looking for something just a little bit better.)
In some regions it's called Masterhide, it might be the same as PM400 as well. I use SW Masterhide and agree it's absolutely the best ceiling paint due to being dead flat and hiding flaws. Problem is some homeowners can't get it without a contractor account. :/
It really is magical! I never thought there was such a difference in ceiling paint until I was recommended this stuff. I did a side by side comparison with another brand of "paint & primer in one", going over a ceiling that someone had painted pink (WHY God do people do these things??). This is hands down the ONLY paint that should ever be used on a ceiling. Period.
Sherwin Williams has one I've just been using on our bathroom ceiling called "Eminence High Performance Ceiling paint " comes in Ultra White flat. Excellent stuff as well!
That stuff is really good. Hardly any splatter, but the roller also has to be good. I recommend micro fiber rollers. I was quite surprised that my arms weren't covered in splatter.
@@manoadano unfortunately here in Vancouver BC, they stopped selling CHB because of issues in Texas where it’s made. Biggest mistake ever and a huge blow to the work I do 😪 . I wasn’t using an expensive sprayer either btw I have the titan 1700. So you should be fine
If the cracks are not too crazy you can try caulking them with a latex caulk. Just fill them in and wipe as much off as you can. If that doesn’t work you have to get into retaping the cracks which is a process! Best Wishes!
Been painting over 30 years ValSpar is the worst product out there but flat is safest sheen to buy if you do purchase a valsSpar product ... but just incase i stay clear of anything they make. I can walk in a home and tell when someone has used the product from all the flashing...but if your not a professional you probably wouldn't even noticed until it was pointed out. So many great products out there today...Sherwin Williams and Behr marguee are my first choices...
Your picture vs picture of the ceiling is really misleading. Not saying its a bad paint, but the pix are not helpful as the before shows harsh light coming from those windows, while the after shows diffused light, and the biggest issue with ceiling paint are the reflections, and this I wish was represented with more care, and honesty , at least from my perspective.
I bought the high end Behr ceiling paint and it would not cover the inconsistent roller streaks after 3 coats on regular drywall ceiling. I have heard that a product call Flotrol (additive and extender) makes the paint super consistent. I want to try one more time but I dread painting ceilings now.
I am having the same experience with the Behr Ceiling paint. After 3 coats I just want to scream! That's why I'm on RUclips looking for solutions! Unfortunately they don't sell this paint Funny Carpenter is talking about here in Michigan. After reading another comment it sounds like it has been discontinued. Any other SW CEILING PAINT you might suggest?
the basic idea is to get a DEAD FLAT paint ,especially if you have a large ceiling and the room has windows where you get reflected light .... Not all "flat paints" are "Dead Flat paints" .... Dead flat = no reflection and the paint blends with itself , no brush or roller marks in touch ups or application
@@ubacow7109 ceiling paint can be "low quality" , it's not a huge deal , dead flat is important IF you want to hide imperfections and make for easy touch up .... For some reason , I guess from light glare , ceilings show brush and roller marks a lot , even spray marks , and they CAN be painted with shinier paints and sometimes come out well , but later touch up sometimes shows .... Ceilings are tricky , and I HATE repairing a ceiling that's been painted with a jhard glossy paint , especially popcorn !!! what a nightmare that is when hard glossy paint was used .... it's HELL to scrape that popcorn off and do a repair
I was going to try thus until I seen all the bad reviews on Lowe’s. Found a bunch of negative reviews other places. Not going to risk time, effort, on money on this one.
ANY "dead flat" is the best .... All you have to do is figure out what kind of "white" or "color" you want ..... ANY "dead flat" works , you just don't want any shine at all or it can look "sketchy" and impossible to touch up without showing ..... I use ProMar 400 , cheap , dead flat , works fine .... but I'm always interested in other paints , I just find the only issue that really matters is the sheen and color ..... Not all "whites" are the same , some look quite "gray" , some look "too white" , not all "Flats" are the same , some have a slight sheen to them (not good) ..... I like a SLIGHT VERY SUBTLE white with a touch of gray in it ...... SW ProMar 400 "Extra White" Flat works pretty well as a "happy medium" decent white color , dead flat , cheap price , looks fine
Oh baby!!!!! Behr paint is far and above ANY Sherwyn Williams paint. NO comparison! ! ! ! I flip houses. I just painted 7 ceilings with stains and used Behr ceiling paint specific for it. COVERED instantly. I'm not Canadian like he is so my market is MUCH different. We all used Home Depot Behr paint down here.

Definitely worth a try!

Will try this one, thank you!
Hope you like it!

Do they even make this anymore? Can't find it in Florida, even at the Sherwin Williams stores or website.
i have 1 ceiling that needs to get done and about 3 others that could use it....going to give it a try. thanks
Best wishes!

@@mistandkole yessir very nice product.
Nothing is better 👍👍
Yup basically I use this paint religiously, either sprying or rolling it works amazingly
It's pretty silly how much better it covers than other paints!
curious...in your experience, did it require any thinning to be sprayed?? I'd like to spray my ceiling using a Wagner HVLP (Flexio 3000)
@@manoadano nope no thinning.
@@manoadano it’s not that thick so you don’t need to worry. It’s a little chalky but that’s the beauty of it

Hi, could I use this on a popcorn ceiling?
I can see you used CHB 4051 which is extra white, and I am wondering if CHB 4048 (north white) is more appropriate.
Which one would you recommend?
Stupid question, but do you need to tint this or is it good right off the shelf?
Does it go on pink and dry white?
Sherwin has a ceiling paint that’s 17 bucks a gallon (if u have an account) eminesents I think...
Is Sherwin the best pain in your opinion to use?
I use Sherwin Williams master hide flat wall paint
I called my local SW store and they say they only sell it to contractors, but they will sell me a gallon. I noticed it's not on the store website
Thanks
SW.. Promar 400 if ceiling is dingy. Promar Ceiling White for revisiting already white ceilings
Had some molding spots on the ceiling. Would this paint cover them?
For a moulding spot you’d want to use a primer like Killz or Bin.
Any advice on fixing ceiling cracks from house settling

I use the glidden ceiling paint ya know the pink stuff that turns white. It's amazing oh and use a microfiber roller to reduce splatter.
+1 on the microfibre!
You sure you don't mean the Valspar ceiling paint?
@@biodave nope... HD sells glidden pink ceiling paint. Check it out you'll find it!

This is awesome
What is the color?
Does it match steamed milk SW and downy?
I wish I Can find a color that match them all .
The colour is just the regular white ceiling paint. If you want something to match/compliment an existing colour perhaps they could tint it.
Hi sir. What color did you use in the wall?? Thankyou😊
It’s white wisp- Benjamin Moore
What size nap did you use for the ceiling?
10or15mm
I can't find this paint where I live. NY.
You can paint my house any day.
CHB - Canadian Happy Batter
Is it CHB Extra White?
Yes. It only comes from factory in extra white.
Where can I get a similar paint in Canada? I need a paint that doesn’t make marks on the ceiling...
There are some Sherman Williams in Canada- maybe you could order it online?
