@@Zero-di9mz SMT V it's just unfinished game like SMT Nine on XBOX. Even devs admitted to that, which is very rare in gaming industry. But devs fixed both SMT Nine (recreated into MMO - SMT Imagine) and now SMT V (hopefully).
More difficulty is what I am looking most forward to, I love going against a boss and making the "fuck you in particular" team, as you sus out their weaknesses to make potential strategies and win
@@jamalpurrier4760 I don't know the actual math, but Level had an oversized role in power. In previous games, while your level did matter, you could beat most bosses at 10 levels under, so long as you where smart about your strategy. In base SMTV you could have the gold standard for the boss strats but if you where more than like 5 levels below, your dmg would drop. This of course wouldn't matter if the game had Random encounters but since you can just walk around fights, EXP is already lower than normal.
@@fluxk7506 I mean in base SMTV I beat Khonsu Ra while pretty heavily underlevelled because I had Cleopatra and every time Khonsu tried to use his super strong fire attack his Thoth ally would use Mahamaon and waste his turns because Cleopatra blocked it, but yeah the level scaling was too much
Slime + Black Ooze's Magatsuhi is party Tetrakarn. Pixie + High Pixie heals and says "More likely to be targeted by enemies and all stats raised to maximum", but given it's named "Fairy Games" and that sounds really op, I'm assuming this is a "random positive or negative effect" spell. MATADOR'S PERSONAL HAS A CHANCE TO REDUCE THE ENEMY TO NEAR-DEATH ON ANY CRIT OR WEAKNESS HIT. Okay. Neko Shogun's boosts the power of other Demons in battle with the same personal as it, so these aren't 100% unique. My guess is other cat demons have this skill. Thoth raises the chance of chance-based personal skills triggering. Pazuzu causes enemies with status ailments to take more damage from weaknesses.
Matador's personal sounds broken but white rider's personal skill in base SMT5 says "chance to instant kill" which actually means "guaranteed instakill as long as they don't resist light or is a boss", and trumpeter has the same skill but im pretty sure its unresistable.
@@_GLXC White Rider had that skill in Nocturne too and it was just as busted there. For a game with a reputation for being so hard, there's a lot of broken stuff in Nocturne. A good healer with Mana Refill + White Rider and as long as Demi-Fiend can kill things immune to Light, most random encounters aren't a threat.
Same - bought a 2nd hand switch off gumtree for 180 pounds just for the original version and I'm going to buy this again for my PC day1 and not even feel bad.
This is shaping up to be my favorite SMT game of all time. Atlus went all out on this game by fixing everything that was wrong with the original. And the DLC from the original is free too, as a bonus (except the mitamas)
Playable Demi-fiend!! 🥳 Every complaint addressed, just crossing my fingers the story has enough focus! And after all the complaints i've seen about Vengeance, I hope people at least notice the effort the devs put in. This is something only made possible by fan feedback and the devs loving their game. Plus I don't think we'll see another case quite like this one (thanks to COVID), so i'm glad it got another chance.
I'm thinking the extreme difficulty setting where all demons are level 150 might be a new game plus thing. Super excited for that, hopefully it'll make replaying the game to complete alignment routes a lot more fun since you'll get to carry over your min-maxed demons from previous runs and still face a challenge.

If they do actually do it, and they give it the vengenace treatment like adding the ability to select your partner in vanilla IV and maybe add an ending that directly conects to apocalypse... I would die of excitement.

We apparently both played the game in full, but that game was "MID AF" and I know that's just my personal opinion but it's an opinion shared by MANY MANY of the SMT fanbase so I'm not alone here. Now what do I think was wrong with it you may ask...I'll tell you. 1.) the characters The characters were boring and had no personality outside of info dumping about the story itself. Not only that the majority of the cast INCLUDING the demons on the box itself are completely irrelevant to the story and do absolutely nothing. When on my first play through I was HYPE AF about seeing these characters in action ( especially that arrogant Zeus and green guy) but that never happened. 2.) The levels The levels were BLAND AF, and probably took the total of ONE DAY (with breaks included) to create ALL of the over world. All the levels look EXACTLY THE SAME just with a slightly different color palette 🎨. The levels are HUGE and get boring extremely quickly. Often times I feel myself yawning and even went to SLEEP during the game. And the music of these levels were lame and sleep inducing, and that brings me to.... 3.) THE MUSIC The music in this game is COMPLETELY OVERRATED. and sounds awful. Now a lot of people may disagree on this point but it's just the truth. This isn't an option either, the music is just terrible. 4.) The STORY itself. When you're first introduced to the story it starts out ok. Your a kid hearing about dangerous urban legends and suddenly your in the demon world with Aogami. HOWEVER this is where the story gets so mid it's INSANE. after wandering around that BLAND AF open world for TEN HOURS grinding levels due to the leveling system etc and finally beat the snake woman you go back to your world. Soon almost INSTANTLY your part of the order storyline, you find out that there's this organization trying to become God, you fight the demon King etc . and the story spirals into this fast pace mess VERY quickly. A simple comment cannot even explain the problem with this story accurately. You CHOOSE YOUR ENDING....I repeat...YOU CHOOSE YOUR ENDING!... enough said. If someone likes the original, that's fine..it wasn't a TERRIBLE GAME but it was FAR FAR from perfect. And yes I'm still buying SMTVV day 1...and yes if it's mid ill still talk about it lol 😆😆

It seems like the special multi demon magatsuhi skills don't need all demon in your party at once It will be interesting to know if you just need one of them active and all others in stock

Apocalypse have like 20 battle themes in comparison with what like 10 very similar battle themes, graphics mmm switch resolution is terrible the game runs at 505p most of the times it look awful the grain in the floor make the game look petty terrible in comparison to the 2D sprites of 4 and 4A, gameplay mmm let's count the the terrible pacing as gameplay because it is, you have small open parts to farm like 12 levels per zone, if you count SMT 3, 4 and 4A have bigger zones (but not connected) I been playing SMT since maybe 5 YO (first one was SMT 2 for me) played for like 4 years making my japanese better so I can understand what I was doing, ain't no way you can convince me that with only 3 dungeons this is the most rushed SMT after Nine (like a fellow said here) its really similar to nine, they way the history of this game is disjointed is truly amazingly bad it's not a SMT way or telling things it felt more like a Persona the way characters interact with each other what a weird game, now they even delist SMT V and it's DLC like total scumbags and let's not count that there are truly 3 and 5 endings in 4 and 4A, the endings here are not worth pursuing just however they called the neutral here (you gotta beat Shiva first actually the only good boss battle in the game) so I mean it really only 1 ending...

@@ils4844yea but you dont get it until pretty late, its why i liked the early game so much cuz i had to use interesting strategies. typically charge becomes a normal strat around what? lvl 30-40 in most smt games? i remember using this games charge pretty late cuz you dont get the good one until wayyy later. the earlier charge isnt worth using unless you had a specific setup same thing with buffs. i think thats why i enjoyed this game so much. it felt so much more different when it came to battles
Just got into the Persona series this year and turned based combat . Man it feels good to be a complete newbie to these type of games. Considering Atlus dropping banger after banger .😮💨

I still haven't beat vanilla SMTV because I'm too much of a wuss to kill off a friend. I love this game, though, and I will be getting this version. Being able to use demons registered in the compendium for fusions is such a great idea.
Ngl, you're not missing a ton. The endings all feel 25-50% complete, and everyone always dies bc V-kun is too submissive to take his destined throne himself unless the authority figure he's obeying kicks the bucket in a very transparent "we did not have the budget to animate a fight scene here" cop-out death, leaving him the only one still capable of completing the mission. That's part of why I'm so hyped to play the Canon of Vengeance. Complete story, here we come!
So Creation and Vengence are standalone, but do they let you carry your Demons or progress from one into another? If you own the original on Switch does your progress carry over to this version?
I'm sorry but I'd rather them revisit the Digital Devil Saga franchise and remaster them and then remake them from scratch using the Quantum Devil Saga story and designs 10 years from now

I know that the announcer said to play the Creation or Vengeance route in any order, but what would you guys recommend first for someone who has not played either story? Just whichever sounds more appealing? I want to go Creation, but Vengeance seems to have all of these cool characters. I won’t play my second playthrough for a couple years. So which one?
Honestly as someone who finished the original SMT5 Just skip the canon of creation and play the new story Cos wow the original story was a huge nothing burger It's really poor
Canon of Vengeance seems like the better story but we don't know about the endings or if there even are multiple. I like canon of creation but it has many flaws especially with certain endings and difficulty (the optional boss to unlock the "secret ending" was harder than the final boss of that secret ending). If Vengeance has only one ending it would be the perfect first playthrough with Creation being the NG+ mode for the multiple endings etc.
I bought it on Switch, but couldn't get past how poorly it ran on the system even on docked mode so I guess I'll be double dipping (which I don't mind since it's Atlus) for it on more powerful hardware.
Most changes are really cool, but there are a few that make me wonder if the OG will stay my preferred version if I want to play the creation path some more times.

Koropokkur's is the Ice version of Feng Huang's (increase in Ice damage when hitting an Ice weakness)

Apocalypse have like 20 battle themes in comparison with what like 10 very similar battle themes, graphics mmm switch resolution is terrible the game runs at 505p most of the times it look awful the grain in the floor make the game look petty terrible in comparison to the 2D sprites of 4 and 4A, gameplay mmm let's count the the terrible pacing as gameplay because it is, you have small open parts to farm like 12 levels per zone, if you count SMT 3, 4 and 4A have bigger zones (but not connected) I been playing SMT since maybe 5 YO (first one was SMT 2 for me) played for like 4 years making my japanese better so I can understand what I was doing, ain't no way you can convince me that with only 3 dungeons this is the most rushed SMT after Nine (like a fellow said here) its really similar to nine, they way the history of this game is disjointed is truly amazingly bad it's not a SMT way or telling things it felt more like a Persona the way characters interact with each other what a weird game, now they even delist SMT V and it's DLC like total scumbags and let's not count that there are truly 3 and 5 endings in 4 and 4A, the endings here are not worth pursuing just however they called the neutral here (you gotta beat Shiva first actually the only good boss battle in the game) so I mean it really only 1 ending...

@@ils4844yea but you dont get it until pretty late, its why i liked the early game so much cuz i had to use interesting strategies. typically charge becomes a normal strat around what? lvl 30-40 in most smt games? i remember using this games charge pretty late cuz you dont get the good one until wayyy later. the earlier charge isnt worth using unless you had a specific setup
same thing with buffs. i think thats why i enjoyed this game so much. it felt so much more different when it came to battles

I still haven't beat vanilla SMTV because I'm too much of a wuss to kill off a friend. I love this game, though, and I will be getting this version. Being able to use demons registered in the compendium for fusions is such a great idea.
Ngl, you're not missing a ton. The endings all feel 25-50% complete, and everyone always dies bc V-kun is too submissive to take his destined throne himself unless the authority figure he's obeying kicks the bucket in a very transparent "we did not have the budget to animate a fight scene here" cop-out death, leaving him the only one still capable of completing the mission. That's part of why I'm so hyped to play the Canon of Vengeance. Complete story, here we come!

I know that the announcer said to play the Creation or Vengeance route in any order, but what would you guys recommend first for someone who has not played either story? Just whichever sounds more appealing? I want to go Creation, but Vengeance seems to have all of these cool characters. I won’t play my second playthrough for a couple years. So which one?

Canon of Vengeance seems like the better story but we don't know about the endings or if there even are multiple. I like canon of creation but it has many flaws especially with certain endings and difficulty (the optional boss to unlock the "secret ending" was harder than the final boss of that secret ending). If Vengeance has only one ending it would be the perfect first playthrough with Creation being the NG+ mode for the multiple endings etc.

I bought it on Switch, but couldn't get past how poorly it ran on the system even on docked mode so I guess I'll be double dipping (which I don't mind since it's Atlus) for it on more powerful hardware.
I actually really wanted dyad compendium fusion, so I am very happy that's it's been added.

Since he's a guest character, I'm assuming that he's playable as part of an even harder sidequest you unlock after defeating him.
