The difference between Willow in The Wicker Man and the Sirens is that, while the Sirens lead man to their deaths, all Sgt. Howie had to do was sleep with her and he would have lived, not being a virgin and being less of a fool for the sacrifice. The Wicker Man is one of my favorite movies of all time
Maybe so, but in Howie's own view, there is more value in being martyred than in succumbing to temptation. He might have been saved if he'd slept with her, but he would no longer be Saved, as it were. Having said that, I would not characterize Willow as 'evil'.

I feel that it's somewhat unfocused (and not sure what you're looking at btw), but one element I found really interesting, and would like to see more expressly examined, is how the films reflect changing values over time, not only in terms of how explicit the violence is, but things like who appears villainous or taps in to public fears as each film was made.
