Getting mine this week. Had one on loan over the weekend last week and loved it. By far the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden, and I love how quiet the belt drive is. Can't wait to finally get it
Great review Chris. I just bought the Charger 3 GT Vario 2022 for myself and the Charger 3 Mixte GT Vario 2022 for my wife. We bought them from Scooteretti in Ottawa, Canada. The owner indicated he had met you. We pick them up next week. Can't wait.🙂
Hi Chris. Fantastic review of the R&M Charger 3. I have decided to go electric and have now ordered the Charger 3. From Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In Brisbane we are blessed with great bike paths, so I am looking forward to an easier commute to work each day. I love your RUclips channel. I have learnt so much!
Hey Anthony, how has your charger3 been? And have you left your biked unattended here in brissy? Eg. Cafe, groceries etcc. Im based in brissy too and deciding between nevo3 and charger3. Was initially thinking of the tinker but i realised for longer rides like 20km the bigger wheels are probably better. Keen to hear your thoughts on riding r&m in brissy. Cheers ps. Chris at propel we love your caps do you sell them ? :)
Hi Joel. The Charger 3 is great around Brisbane. Great range with 625wh battery. I don’t leave it out of eyesight if riding and at a cafe etc. I have an ABUS folding alarm lock. Enjoy your new bike when you get it. Regards. Anthony.
@@anthabr cheers. If you don't mind me asking, how much kilometers are you typically getting from a full charge? And do you have the kiox or the nyon display? Did you get yours from electric bikes brisbane? :)
Hi Joel. I went for the Nyon display. The range depends on the mode you ride in and the number of hills. With a combination of economy and touring only, I am getting around 120km from a single charge. Yes. I ordered through Electric Bikes Brisbane.
Thanks so much for your consistent support and comments. It hasn’t gone unnoticed. I’m excited to have this opportunity to make these videos and it can be overwhelming at times but having reaffirming feedback helps me to know I’m on the right track. Thanks again!
The Charger 3 is the e-bike I have been waiting for the last 2 years. I dipped my finger into the e-bike water a few years ago when I purchased a Tinker HS. The most positive aspects about the Charger 3 is the Generation 4 Bosch motor. The reduction drag is gone and according to the review it rides much more efficiently over 21 mph. Torgue is also increased from 63 newton meters to 75. The motor is also smaller & more integrated into the frame. Finally, I like the powertube and its integration into the frame. Of course these are my opinions
Decisions... I’m sure you would be happy with either. They are both awesome! I always recommend optimizing for your most use scenario. Although having the added range of the Supercharger can’t really hurt.
The charger3 does have an option for a second battery now, but the Supercharger2 isn’t being phased out. Both are still current and will still continue to be.
Gonna change my Charger to Marathon Plus MTB tires now - after 17 months - 15.000 Km with Moto X (3rd set of tires - 4 punctures in total) - off road and under wet/icy conditions the Moto X fails often. I use the Charger all year for commuting and bike touring, gonna change the rear wheel with Enviolo hub now for a Rohloff wheel.
It would be interresting to compare this bike to other similar ones, by example Kalkhoff Endeavour 7.B Belt, which has similar configuration (belt and Enviolo) and similar price, some aspects that seem better (625W battery) or worse (no wheel size option, no front rack option, rear rack with less weight capacity)... Gear ratio of this Enviolo Charger 3 seems far too high for the non HS version.
I hope to do more comparisons later this season. I still have a long list of bikes that I need to review and I can compare after. Kalkhoff isn't available in the US so I doubt I will do that one, but this is great feedback. The bike in test was the non-HS version and I found the gear ratio to be great for my liking.
Would you say it’s possible to use the 45NRTH Wrathchild studded tires on this bike? I know they’re 2.6" wide, but there seems to be a good chuck of clearance there. Maybe the lock would be an issue when mounting them?
thanks for mentioning people's heights in the reviews, esp considering the seat-post suspension. I'm a smidge under 5'6 without shoes and find i can be on the limit of even the small sizes in certain manufacturers.
Yes, height and inseam is very important when fitting a bike. Fortunately there are more and more bikes becoming available with different sizes. This one in a 46cm should be good though.
Hi Chris. Have you heard that R&M might be bringing out a Supercharger 3 i.e. with dual batteries and the Gen 4 Bosch motor? That would be my perfect e-bike.
They actually have it already. It’s called the Supercharger2. I know it’s a bit confusing but there was never a New Supercharger so they didn’t feel the need to use the Supercharger 3 name. Below is a video of that bike. ruclips.net/video/YZ4HDD2sLy4/видео.html

A Reise and Muller with a Brose 2.1 Magnesium carbon belt drive motor, that would be the shit.
Have you ridden the new Bosch Gen 4 motor? I prefer it over the Brose.
Its almost like a motorcycle in terms of quality.
It feels that way when you ride it to. We definitely recommend this one :)
Can you review husqvarna. Riese and muller looks good but husqvarna looks better
At the moment it doesn’t seem to be available in the US. I love the folks behind Husqvarna but I prefer the subtle styling and features of the R&M. Not sure if we’ll have them in our shop if they do make their way to the US, but time will tell.
