@@seretith3513 I don't think those videos are meant to be the perfect retranscription of the zen philosophy as much as they are a way for people to relax and forget about their earthly struggles for a while. To me that's the most important thing ;)
@@seretith3513 I could see that, zen is more about letting go, accepting the chaos and flowing with it rather than experiencing “perfection?” (Symmetry/Straight lines)
@@mr.theking2484 You also aren't doing it. This has nothing to do with skill, it's literally just slowly moving an object around a grid and sometimes tracing objects to form interesting patterns. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the video, but the purpose of it is not skill. XD
I absolutely love these. It's too bad we don't have tons of channels uploading this constantly, because I'd gladly watch. good tradition too, for sure.
The effort, and sheer precision put into these videos are overwhelmingly satisfying. Especially the geometric calculations that secretly lay behind the scenes between each pattern, and how everything just "clicks" according to the design of the shape, and axis you trace around. You have earned my subscription without even asking.
I grew up with B/W TV, so my brain learned to interpret colours from shades of grey. As I watch this as the patterns were laid down suddenly there's a patchwork of colours in the lines and light. Excellent Brain Candy., Thanks for that. !!
Im so into Japanese culture at the minute, especially Zen gardens and now I have thankfully found these videos. Turns out they are the perfect piece for my Jigsaw of tranquillity, that I didn't know I needed
I have a habit of watching youtube videos way too late when I should be sleeping. I started putting your videos on when I know I should go to bed and it puts me in such a calm sleepy state. Thank you
how many appreciate these moments of Beauty? the actual experience of getting to see the creation and evolution of Beautiful Images and Technique. appreciating the moment
I don't know how to explain why But watching and listening to this puts me so at ease. Like I can let go of all the tension I have in my shoulders It's beautiful and so relaxing
i watch these as soon as i know they come out. no matter what time or place it is, i watch them and they immediately relax me - i come back to this channel often when i have panic attacks and nothing soothes me the way this does. thank you
This is incredible! Shout out to the ancient guy who had the idea to draw in the sand with a rake... But seriously, this is amazing, the shapes are so perfectly made in such a calming way that you feel emerged in a space of its own where only these shapes exist... The 60fps make it soo much more satifying! :))
I love how erasing the sides at 7:40 put the middle part into perspective 👀 Also, I love that the color of the sleeve changes with the lighting as if to imply day & night or light & darkness without which we wouldn't be able to see the shapes and patterns.
Looking at this, I'm sure the first guy to create zen gardens was a dude who felt so damn bored he began to play with sand and realised "Wow, this is actually fun and extremely relaxing."
For some reason, this was especially tingly at about 4:10 marker, when your more open grip on the handle made it appear as though you were guiding the rake and design. I think it was due to the handle being mostly out of the frame.. As others have commented, I love the geometry and the clearing to a blank slate so much. I also love the sand sounds and the gentle gong. I'm autistic and your content just checks all the right stimmy boxes some moments. This is beautifully done, you are so talented. I hope you keep sharing, longer vids are my fav =]
I really enjoy these videos. I wonder if the different patterns have different meanings? Also, how is the sand so smooth? What does the gong of the bell mean? So many questions, lol.
There is sand that instead of being cubic it is like pebbles. A place called squeeky beach has this type of sand and it makes a squeeking sound when you walk on it or move it. To make your sand all a uniform grain you can sieve out the larger parts then sieve out the finer parts giving you uniform grains. You can make it as fine as powder or as course as sugar. I am sure there would be some that will certainly give a different mood.
I got rid of my toilet and now I have a zen garden instead. If I ever make a rock pile in it I will leave it there for awhile as a reminder to myself and others (if they ask) not to make the same mistake again and how to avoid damaging one of your most important trenches.
I'm a student recently having a reserch on 'stone culture in Eastern Asia'. May I have your personal opinion on the Japanese dry landscape? Especially on the steady stone which have the lines arounded. Thank you for answering or not. I vaule your opinion s.✨(i have Japanese friend so using Japanese is alright ! )
Sadly, he never responds or likes comments. Maybe one day, he will start. I can’t be upset lol, these videos do a lot more for us then I think he realizes. I sleep VERY well. Anyways, you have a good day / night!
Everything about this videos are awesome, the tools, symmetry, patience and the little "ding" after every pattern. I simply love this channel!
Turns out Symetry is actully so much not Zen according to a Priest who professionelly builds Zengardens all around the World

Thank you for sharing this art with us. The real hero is the lighting; I enjoyed you changing it for different patterns

Absolutely beautiful... And peaceful. Please tell me where I can buy the sand and rakes. I can't find them anywhere.
5:40 the way that little rake with the deep grooves fits perfectly between the lines of the large rake....no no no no...I am way too high for this.

Thank you for this! I was depressed today and this helped!

I love everything about these videos and I’d like to learn more. Can anyone tell me what the gong symbolizes/why it is played when it is?
❤️❤️❤️
What type of sand do you use for this? It seems very high quality.
The way the sand looks reminds me of a blanket for some reason
These help me not get overly angry in situations where I have every right to be upset but I know me being angry won’t help the situation
