- No one was in the "room where it happened." As a frightened young girl, Secily Wilson, found herself alone and unprotected from her stepfather. It took her years to find her voice and her tribe. Today, Wilson uses her global platform to break the silence and ignite change through the power of community. Secily Wilson is the founder and CEO of WOW Legacy Group Inc. She began her career as an award winning broadcast news journalist, anchor/reporter and television personality. Secily has spent more than a decade as a storyteller, spokesperson, and communications professional. Her foundation and the philanthropic space was developed during her role as Director of development and community relations at the YMCA of Central Florida.
Secily Wilson is the Best-Selling author of the debut book: "She Said the P Word", TEDx speaker, founder of WOW (Women Overcoming with Willpower) Legacy Group, a growing Central Florida nonprofit with a mission to Empower, Educate, Inspire and Transform the lives of women facing life adversity. Secily is also Orlando Business Journal's 2021 Women Who Mean Business Honoree, United Way Change Impact Award winner and Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista. So Powerful "History Doesn't Mean Destiny" I value your words. It is so great to hear that our past does NOT define our pth. We see so many times in the history of our own families and our countries how the same destructive situations affect people generation after generation. In Scripture too, we see that past circumstances created such malice, anger and hurt that affected multiple generations of God’s people. I, for one, have made major mistakes in my life that have not only hurt myself, but more importantly, have hurt those around me that I love. However, all of us can decide that our past mistakes will not carry on into our futures or the future of our lineage! This decision has to start with me and with you.
