I just… how old is Caroline? Now I see why she married someone so much younger than her. That is her mental and emotional age. She gives off such weird energy. The lights are on, but no one’s home type vibes.
Caroline said that her parents sent her to boarding school when she was 5 until 18. She didn't have loving parents, and it shaped her life. She admitted that she finds it hard to even have strong emotions. Give her a break man!
My Mom was House Mother at a boarding school. Caroline is typical of a boarding school kid. She was prob one of the mean girls. They're outwardly really confident because they haven't had their parents around 24/7 but also very insecure for that same reason. Also if their parents are in the army they see them only a few times a year at most & don't get phone calls or texts in-between etc . Out of sight, out of mind?

The thing about Caroline is that she is blunt. But it's not her bluntness that's the problem.
It's her delivery. It's her demeanor. It's her dry vibe. It's very posh and pompous like.... and that is very off putting.
Kinda like Lisa Vanderpump but Vanderpump is actually very warm. You can tell she's very posh, but she is charming, warm and very likeable.

Caroline is probably somewhat posher than Lisa, but they are both more part of the wealthy but still essentially striving middle class. You can tell that Caroline had a pretty wretched childhood by the "proper" (ie. totally disrespectful) way she talks down to Ayan the next day. It's very upsetting how she refuses to listen to Ayan but instead "puts her in her place" by totally invalidating Ayan's feelings and making Ayan feel as small and deflated as possible by asserting her perspective as the only and obviously correct one. That's some aggressive boarding school conditoning at its post socially pernicious right there, particularly because it seems that Caroline really does look down on Ayan for her background (which, of course, includes her race, ethnicity, nationality, education etc). For her own sake, I hope that Caroline can view the footage objectively when she watches it and use it to grow, because I think she does have a reasonably nice side but some quite awful ways of managing interpersonal tension and her own privilege.

@@canesugar911 yes. she is very easily offended, and has no interest in resolving conflict, no patience for the conflicts or interests of others, removes herself quickly from any situation that does not benefit her. i also found it very telling how she talked to her husband when he showed her the place that will become their new home, and berated him for doing too much or doing it too well. she isnt hostile, but she often seems to think shes too good for most situations she is in. brooks on the other hand boasts with sleeping with married men and even said she once had an obsession with becoming first lady.

She is the reason behind the aggression most women have for Caroline S. She told them terrible things about Caroline S the first time the ladies met Stanbury. Then she goes ahead to be lovey dovey with Stanbury.
When Ayan felt attacked by Stanbury, she never stood up for her. Even in this episode, she watched Stanbury get hurt and never said a thing and yet stood up to follow Stanbury to start soothing her. I don't think she is peaceful or a good friend. She thinks she is too good for conflict. Hence, a big sign that she isn't loyal. Worse, not a loyal friend.
Here's hoping Caroline S. is gone after Season 1. Caroline B. after Season 2. Not sure who's the worst of the 2 when it comes to their true personality showing up.

I think Sara is a good person but she pisses me off. She acts like this great savior for everyone. Brooks literally yells at her to walk away and let Stanbury and Ayan talk yet she is still there to pull Stanbury away. Sometimes people just need to talk it out and come to an understanding without Sara being the be all know all that’s best for everyone.
