Not even at the ending. There was this one moment near the end when you tried to get on the citadel but that one big Reaper comes and kills everyone except of you. This was before the extended cut where you get the cut scene where your crew gets on the Normandy. In the version before your two crewmembers you took with you also died and were laying on the ground close to the beam that took you up to the citadel. Now I made the big mistake to take Liara with me who I romanced in my first play through (and every run after). I stared for like 10 minutes at her regretting every decision up until this point.
I feel so bad for the people who disliked this game. I loved every second of it, ending included. And whatever they plan next in the mass effect fiction can not come soon enough.
What? you feel sorry for the fact that we need a story to make sense and have purpose, because we're smart enough to use logic and reason to understand a story to enjoy it, instead of simply admiring the pretty lights and utterly silly cinematics? I certainly don't. there's nothing to be sorry for, honestly. ME3 was a piece of garbage when it comes to the story, which seeps through the entire experience. almost nothing concerning the main plot thread makes any sort of logical sense. think about it. for one: there are about 20 000 Reaper capital ships. now, why would several hundred of those go to ONE planet? (Earth) why didn't the reapers simply obliterate the Normandy when it came to pick Shepard up at Earth at the beginning of ME3? Why is Shepard suddenly bisexual? Why are the romances so poorly fleshed out? The list goes on. are you beginning to understand why we don't like ME3?
FunkyDouch3000 haha yeah fair enough, i can see a lot of reasons fans would walk away feeling unfufilled when you put it that way. Know what i wanted to see. now that i think about it? A joke ending. A kind of thing where, near the end Shepard flubs a line and a director says "CUT"! Pans back and they're on a set for a movie.
Athanase48067 that would indeed be something. heh anyways, no need to feel sorry for us, I guess it's a good thing some people can find joy in ME3, but I certainly don't. I might be interested again in Mass Effect if they make a sequel, set perhaps a thousand years after ME3, but other than that I and so many others are gonna leave this series alone for good, which is a very sad thing really. Good day sir :)
***** Your opinion. In mine, you're a guy with a grudge who can't see past his own myopic vision. And right, let me just shut up because you told me to. It's not like we have different opinions, or anything. Why don't you go back to the venemous BSN?
Harbinger Reaper By saying "go BACK to rambling nonsense" he was implying that what you said wasn't nonsense at all. Also on a side note this is in my opinion the best Mass Effect.
I'll concur. It's not the same thing watching a trailer after you've seen the real deal, but this trailer still manages to make me feel all the hype I felt years ago. All the "Let's End this", all the "Shit's serious now!", all the tension and "Holy shit this is happening. Reapers are coming in"
+DigitalVirusX2 I concur. I wasn't so upset with the original ME3 endings. They gave closure to the Shepard's story, albeit with minimal information. The free(crazy for an EA product) Extended Cut fixed the information issue.
How so? I mean narratively. How did the original ending narratively or even cohesively make sense? (granted I wasn't fond of either version so...) Think about it like you are writing a screen play. You have created a world that works on relatively explained science (in-game) with no true *magic* thing (bionics is explained as a scientific thing). And then the startchild pops up out of the blue, no hints, no nothing of it through the entire series until that point. I recommend you watch MrBtongue video about the ending. It is informative and quite rational. It is a bit long though so I would understand completely if you didn't want to check it due to time restraints. But if you are one of those that are willing to see both sides I think you might enjoy it more than you think. : )
I have a feeling he doesn't even know what the ''extended cut'' is , it's just more cutscenes explaining stuff , like when people complained ''Joker would never leave Shepard'' the EC had a cutscene where Admiral Hackett told Joker to get the fuck out of there .
That star child didn't pop out of nowhere. It was just an avatar that the catalyst used (probably taken from Shepard's memories) in order to better communicate with Shepard.
Oskar Toledo Why? Well it has been few years already, how long are some going to cry about it :P? It's sad. That's all I'm saying, fans should try get over it and move on.
+Gatsu Well, there are tons of info out there. I dont know about you, but some of us really do love this story, sure, it didnt creeple my whole existence when they deliver that mess of an ending, but, as you mention, it was sad the way EA and Bio screw their own work. Yep, we are moving on and waiting for MEA, there is nothing more to do left, but the first trilogy is and will be a massive letdown and an unfinish bussiness... Sad indeed...
The best series ever, replayed it countless of times. The only game i ever did. Despite the initial ending let down, thinking back the series did gave a very good experience overall - the best so far I would say
You can cry about the ending for many more years (don't really understand why...), but you have to admit: storytelling and creating characters which you love, fight for and cry over while sitting on the edge of the couch is what this game offers. An experience which you cannot get only maybe from your favourite tv show. (maybe The Last of Us is similar, but lacks the role playing part)
This trailer shows what the game could've been, built the hype to uncomprehensible level, so that after beating the game you realised how badly did Bioware fuck up their job. The witcher 3 is an example of the game with similar hype level, but this game actually lived up to its expectations... Fuck EA.
I love the sad piano song that plays at the beginning(and at the end of the intro in the game). What a perfect track to set the mood. Just heart breaking.
Hard to believe I was feeling chills watching this over three years ago, my how time flies, and how a bad ending can ruin just about everything :/ Don't get me wrong I still consider this one of the best trilogies ever devised, but I'll never feel the same level of excitement that I used to.
The ending to me just felt cheap and rushed, there are so many other ways they could have explained the story and finished off that trilogy, not to mention I'm sure I speak for many others when I say we expected to have a better range of choices to make in the endgame, and to have the decisions we'd made over the previous 2 games matter.
I agree, the choices prior to the ending were awesome and had real effects on the galaxy, the species within it and your teammates and companions. In that regard it's still the best roleplaying franchise of all time, I just really wish they'd spent more time thinking about the ending.
Despite the endings, this is the best trilogy ever made. Enjoyed every moment, especially the final fleet battle. When all those ships came out of LS to confront the Reapers I was like OH FUCKING YES >).
Out of all the trailers I've watched before whether tv or movies or games This trailer is the best out of them all This trailer is the reason why I love this series
I love how fitting the launch trailer music is to both the 2nd and 3rd games. Mass Effect 2: "Heart of Courage" -- Shepard and his teammate's determination and courage to fight for the good of the galaxy, even if it means suicide. Mass Effect 3: "Protectors of the Earth" -- Need I say more?
When I first saw this trailer the longest days of my life followed after. I don't think I've ever been so excited and pumped up for a game in my entire life.
I've re-watched this over and over again even after 5 years had passed and still brings me the same the thrill and excitement. This trailer did really bring music from tsfh to life. My hands are very welcome to what Bioware has to bring us in the future regardless of what people say about me3 ending and andromeda. Bioware and mass effect are still legends to me
For me the ending was when the joint fleet went through SOL relay and engaged Reapers. One of the best fleetfights in sci-fi history and pretty much climax of the trilogy.
Never forgotten! I hold close and dear to my Mass Effect collection. Omg how it is so precious to me. Seriously this game revived gaming for me... When multiplayer conquered and no sight of campaign or a Great story driven game W/ unique personality characters. I hope Andromeda holds its own or at least spiritually to this amazing series. Bravo!
For those who are wondering, yes, this is a Two Steps from Hell song playing...specifically, it's the song "Protectors of the Earth" which seems pretty appropriate
4 years later this still gives me chills
Please be a good game Andromeda!.

i should go
8 years later : same
@@TimTams_64 So did this age well?
This is still one of the greatest video game trailers ever made. ME2's trailer is also equally amazing.
Two steps from hell makes it better for me
@@XavierXonora totally agree, tsfh can make opening a can of pickles epic
2 years later and this trailer is still unbelievably bad ass
After 5 years..Still, this trailer is great :).
After 9 years...
@@maxischmidt8845 after 10 years…
this game still makes me feel like i realy lived in that situation bioware thank u !!

..at the rubbish ending!
Don't give a crap about it anymore
Same here. Now I just enjoy the ride.
10 years later,i shed a big tear
Mass Effect is such an amazing trilogy. just started my 7th play through, from ME1 to ME3, never gets old.
12 years later, and it still feels like the first time I see this one...we love Mass Effect ❤
Best game series ever
That was sdubid
The Mass Effect series have one of the best soundtracks i have ever heard... I love this game i cant wait for Andromeda
The trailer music is Two Steps from Hell.
I know, but i was referring to the start. - Leaving Earth
The most fucking epic game series of all time!
6 years later and this trailer still gives me the chills
after finishing the series, I was staring at my empty screen for 15 minutes, just...reminiscing...
Man I replayed this game throughout all of 2012! Left school early on release day because I couldn’t wait till 3pm :P
Around the same here...
Also crying about 2 hours straight during the end of it all.
Not even at the ending. There was this one moment near the end when you tried to get on the citadel but that one big Reaper comes and kills everyone except of you. Am I the only person who couldn't play a video game for some time after playing through the Mass Effect 3 ending??????????
Damn, this trailer still gives me goosebumps. Amazing.
Derively same
People still talking bout the ending, my 2 cents. With the Extended Cut the ending by itself is a solid 7/10.
+DigitalVirusX2 I concur. I wasn't so upset with the original ME3 endings. They gave closure to the Shepard's story, albeit with minimal information. The free(crazy for an EA product) Extended Cut fixed the information issue.

fucking amazing game. best of the trilogy
What is the song in the background (and Darude-Sandstorm isn't the answer.
Leaving Earth - Clint Mansell and EA Games Soundrack (ME3) and Defenders of the Earth - Nick Pheonix and Thomas Bergersen.
i know i m two year late to reply bt if u still care, its protectors of earth not defenders..

Why is this epic-ness missing from Andromeda trailers? ME2 and ME3 trailers want to make me run through a wall!
Because Andromeda isn't about a war. Also this was the launch trailer expect something similar in a few weeks for ME:A
The stakes aren't the same. Also this trailer had the buildup of the 2 previous games.
kleindropper Mass effect Andromeda launch trailer tomorrow!
Mass effect Andromeda launch trailer is out
Thanks, as expected, not much improvement. Maybe someone can overlay a good "Two Steps from Hell" soundtrack to make it more palatable.
Compared to andromeda this trailers are so much better
withouts thosee pop songs they use now
You sir, just made my day. People like you are the true fans of the Mass Effect series.
They dont make them like this anymore
The 443 dislikes are indoctrinated people.
I didn't particularly hate the ending but I was disappointed my choices from mass effect 1 and 2 made no major changes
Despite the endings, this is the best trilogy ever made. Enjoyed every moment, especially the final fleet battle. When all those ships came out of LS to confront the Reapers I was like OH FUCKING YES >).
Put EA in the place of Illusive Man and the Reapers. Now you can see everything clearly.
+Enceladus lol nailed it.
This just makes me want to play Stellaris to the end game now...
editing level 100
The best trilogy of all time, i love Mass Effect. The first game was the best, but i love all of them. :) Thank you Bioware! :)
That Sound track at the beginning of the trailer😍😍
It's been 8 years and I don't think I'll ever play a game I would love more than Mass Effect.
11 years... Amazing...
Gah, can't believe it's been 3 years
muffika1 cant belive its been 4 years
Man I miss this so much, I’m in college now 😭
"Earth has been taken, the galaxy is on the verge of total annihilation, and you are the only one who can stop them. ." - gives me chills.

Legendary edition is hours away. The Hype Builds Again. This will be Mass Effect 3's redemption arc.
It's good to have people like you in the community :)
I'm just here, to reminisce about the good times. RIP Mass Effect, Commander Shepard's punching angels now.
Love how the final few seconds of the trailer show the citadel beam, liara should have said 'this is where bioware screws us over, isn't it?'
No matter how many times I play this video, it doesn't get old.
Just imagine this as a 2 and a half hour film on each installment. Star Wars VII will surely sweat
The leaving earth theme is so fitting for the beginning
The space scene above earth just blew my mind with epicness
WE COMING BACK BABY

I don't know why but I always pictured the Thresher Maw at 1:29 saying:
"Don't worry, I got this Shepard!!"
the way that thresher just takes down the reaper is BOSS
I can't remember ever looking forward to anything more. Playing this game series is quite possibly the best decision I ever made.

Protectors of the earth music, he'll yeah
Now picture if this trailer was live action. I just got chills
