It’s wonderful that you have each other through this.
Having experienced loss alone. With a spouse that doesn’t get it. I see the difference.
Having someone to anchor yourself too in the darkness will really make your onward journey the best it could be: no matter how rough the seas.
Thinking of you both... long may you gain strength from each other. Xx

Rewatching this video I'm reminded of how special little Lynx was and how much you and Ali loved him. Its a horrible loss and I hope that Princess Lumi and Prince's Porter and Berkeley bring you both joy and comfort ❤

I think this is one of the best video, specially words on the beginning, so sincere, so honest so you without any fashion/make up and although it is SOOO sad, horrible situation for you both, you are now even stronger as a couple and I appreciate that you find a strength to film, to speak about, to almost show us your "naked" soul.. If you can continue to believe, to have a feeling, to "visual" that Lynx is coming home (he will any moment just pop up from somewhere) somehow "to call" that situation to happen....

i lost my husband, the love of my life to cardiac arrest. he was 30, i was a widow at the age of 28....so i know how difficult it is to just get up and suck it up....as ppl would say, you need to move on with hour life...but...there is always a light at the end of the tunnel though it may seems impossible now...life is amazing. there is so much pain this world, but it also gives us relief, nothing in the world lasts.

So incredible to have someone like that. I hope you are starting to find a bit of joy again in life. Give Ali a big hug. What a wonderful human he is Xx

Sent an earlier reply about how excited it was when your blog popped up. Then I watched the video and saw your pain. It broke my heart and everyone else's I'm sure. But I really like how you guys are handling your grief. Especially the part where you say that you have to keep doing things that bring you joy even when they may not during this tough time. As a person that occassionally struggles with clinical depression, I have always avoided things that made me happy and joyful (for example listening to music on my playlists) during those times. I'm afraid that doing these things while I'm in a dark place will "taint" them. You have made me see this in a whole different light. People NEED to keep moving forward. You are right. Thank you for talking about this. 😊🥰 And I would give anything to help you look for little Lynx but I'm in another country. I'm still praying tho and not giving up. Love you guys

Hi Lydia, I really hope that everything goes well in regards to finding Lynx. My cat was ran over the other night and he was only a teeny kitten. It hit me way harder than I ever could have expected and it feels so lonely without him now. I completely understand how you are both feeling right now however you still have hope of finding lynx and you still have your gorgeous Lumi ! Good luck with finding lynx, I hope you get your family back to normal soon xx ❤️

You’re doing so well Lydia, no need to apologize! Our little 16week old puppy got really sick last year and after a few days of not knowing how it would end we unfortunately couldn’t save her. I wasn’t able to get through half an hour without sobbing. Even typing this now, so long after, has me in tears so I’m the first one to underscribe how incredibly precious an animal can become to you and how heartbreaking it is if they’re suddenly not around anymore. Sending you lots of love and keeping my fingers crossed that you find your baby Lynx back ♥️♥️♥️

I have two cats and feel a guy punch at the thought of losing one of them...and for that to actually happen, let alone the memories of their sweet face..and the emptiness of their absence... No words. Just praying 🙏 for him to return

I'm so sorry that you're going through the loss of Lynx, but I also love that you're sharing it and being so honest about it and the grief it's causing you. I have four dogs, and they are my family. We had one sadly pass away a few years ago really suddenly, and I had a day off work because I was heartbroken and could barely stop crying. My manager had a go at me because it was "just a dog". I wish you weren't going through this but it's comforting to see other people loving their pets so much too. Praying for a swift and safe return for your boy xx

Lydia, grief is so difficult, so very difficult. I just suffered a great loss, I won't go into it because I'm trying to encourage you. One of the best pieces of advice I got was so simple but so effective, it was, "Take gentle care of yourself my friend, gentle care." I've taken that into each day and whatever comes up, I say it to myself "take gentle care". It helps.

Don't feel guilty about living your life still, or just because others think they're "just cats" doesn't invalidate how you see them, as your actual babies. I remember when my aunt and uncle lost their daughter, my cousin, in a senseless war in Zimbabwe in the 70's. So many people who lose a child, end up not being able to talk about it and grieve properly. I'm not trying to say it's the same as losing a child, or maybe it is exactly like that for you guys, but it's good that you are keeping on talking about him and talking to each other without closing up. Don't give up on your little one yet, it's very possible that he will be back. Cats can disappear, it's not at all uncommon, and still come back after quite some time. My aunts cats did this and came back in good shape clearly well fed. We always imagined they went to some old lady who fed them well and then returned when they'd had enough of their little holiday.

Hello Lydia. I find your channel very relaxing and i love watching your long vlogs. i usually dont comment but i really couldn't resist myself so here it goes. its a common misconception that quinine found in tonic water protects you from mosquito bites. This misconception started during the British colonialism years. During these years British people who lived in Africa drank gin and tonic, and quinine which is a substance in tonic water protects humans from malaria which is transmitted by mosquitoes. Quinine works by interfering with the parasite's ability to digest human haemoglobin and formation of toxic products to this parasites that cause malaria. But quinine alone does not protect people from mosquito bites but from malaria transmitted from a mosquito bite.
I hope all this makes sense.
by the way i am a medical student and a huge fan of your channel
    lots of love
    Ana

    @awakeafter12 5 лет назад

Kudos to Ali for explaining with such emotional maturity what its like to grieve for an animal.♥️
    Lighthearted observation:
Anglophones (especially British) are not good with emotions. We either deny their existence, or acknowledge them after-the-fact .eg. “I was a bit sad, but I’m ok now!”
Whereas here in France emotions are recognized in the moment (sometimes dramatically ...when we throw ourselves to the floor, overcome by whatever we are feeeling...happiness/despair/ love/ anger/ elation etc)
The 2 extremes really😏. But there are the pros and cons of both!
    Sending you happy thoughts!

He is in my heart and memories. After Rusty, it took us 2 1/2 yrs. to get another baby boy (4 mons. old doggie) and now soon to be 10 yrs. old and I appreciate him everyday he's with us. I hope that Lynx will return and your heart is full again. The good thing that Lumi is with you and is happy and healthy.

Grieving takes days, months, even years. It robs away the joy and hope in life. I have to force myself to work. Totally understand what you r going thru. As a content creator, you cant stop making videos altogether and you still have to put on a smile. This is hard. This video was taken days after Lynx was missing. Its not that Lydia keeps talking about how she is dealing with the lost. When it happened, she totally stop posting on instagram. And everyone including me was checking her instastories updates to see if she is ok. I would rather want a youtuber that is true to her feelings than someone who pretends everything is good. When we cant sympathize, try to empathize instead.

Lynx’s paw prints will always be in your heart and he had two wonderful parents! I know you will never replace Lynx and of course you would never want to but you do have a lot of love and caring to give to another little pet that would also need loving parents. Just a thought!

Hi Lydia, I am keeping you and Ali in my prayers for the safe return of Lynx. Sending positive vibes your way from Hilton Head, South Carolina. As I mentioned before, I had a similar experience last week and my kitty returned after 24 hours. I've heard of cats returning after lengthy times away, and hope that you'll be surprised soon with Lynx at your back door. Sending prayers, love and hugs to you both.

Learning to smile through the pain is something we all experience in life sadly. Just happy to share a little of your day - it doesn't always have to be 'perfect', authentic is always preferable I've found. Wishing you both well :)

Four minutes in and am about to start crying. I can't imagine how hard this was for you to do this when it was all still so raw.

Continue gathering your strength from each other. Some people might not understand, and say it’s just a cat. Those people do not understand that those are our fur babies. I had a puppy he was my little love! I understand. Love you both ❤️

I hope the flyer drop works, my brother in law lost his bird and a month later did a drop. Turned out some old dear had found the bird the next day and given it to her son, wasn't on social media. So it can help. Also, silver lining is you and Ali will realise how good you are together. When i lost my dad my husband was there for me and it made me look at our relationship in a different way. Four years later when he says something about my dad or a funny memory about him it makes me love him all the more. You can still share your love for lynx and memories of him together and he will always be there then.

I can’t believe that somebody would send such emails... it’s just mean. I still hope that Lynx will come back to you! But whatever it is, I am sure he is in good hands! Be strong and don’t lose hope!🙏🏻

Everything you're feeling is normal, and you should never feel like you have to vlog or worry about if it's a "good" vlog or not. All of your vlogs and videos are good (better than good!) because you're real and authentic. For you to be open and vulnerable enough to share your life as you and Ali go through this difficult time is a gift to your viewers. As someone who's going through a grieving process for a different reason right now, I know what it takes to pick up the camera and vlog when your heart isn't fully in it, but how helpful to the grieving process it can be to share it with your audience and let them inside and offer comfort. Don't worry about good vlogs versus bad vlogs. Vlog if you feel like it, don't if you don't, and remember that your core audience will love you through all the ups and downs and grief and pain you'll feel as you and Ali continue to search for Lynx and process everything you're dealing with. Love and sunshine from Arizona. :) xx

I can't imagine losing our Happyface. He's been with us since my daughter was four and she's 11 now. She calls him her cat brother because he's always been there for her. Hope all things work out for you guys.

Couldnt stop the tears. Lynz was likw a little son to you both. Its nit a worse Blog. Its ok for you to express your sadneds. Its very healthy. It may not be the same. But we grieve for you. Each day honestly I keep wondering is Lynx back. Almost everyone who has pets. If something happens it grieves their soul. So i do understand your pain. I pray God give you and Ali faith and strength. I pray deeply for Lynx to return. I cant imagine what could happen to him. Where did he go. So sad. Im glad youre both taking some time out to enjoy each other company. Relax. Enjoy. Blessings to you both.
