- Hello everyone and welcome back to Inside Arsenal.
In today's show I look at the transfer battle that is now heating up over top Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko, while also giving my reaction to Manchester City taking legal action over the Premier League. I also discuss Gabriel's return to fitness with Brazil and react to what you have been saying about various topics, such as Eddie Nketiah and transfer fees.

Man City are effectively saying that the rules should not apply to them because they won the league 4 times. It's allegedly the result of them breaking the rules that won them those titles. I hope the powers that be throw the book at City, all the books, a complete library of books.
Why is Arsenal wasting time?
City are doing a great job at turning everyone against them. That club is starting to make me feel sick.
Charles “Tottenham winning makes me sick to my stomach” - glad you’re definitely healthy mate 😅
This is seriously like failing an exam then suing the exam board for making the exam too hard 🤣
More like cheating the exam and get upset when the are caught
Someone should start a petition to boot ManCity out of the Premier League
So basically Man City are claiming its not fair that they aren't allowed to cheat.
No wires at the back today... Bring back the wires please 😃
Great work as always Charles
if city win this it'll be the start of the end of the prem
One thing we have learnt under Arteta and Edu but we don’t do transfer bidding or wars, if the player is locked in and wants to play for Arsenal then we will get him
Cmon people 500 more for Charles big fat 100k you can do it for him as we love him so!!!!!👍
City biting the hand that feeds them. Surely they will throw the book at them now. Sesko looked great the other night, a little raw but looked to have wonderful attributes
Chelsea literally have no scouting system just see what ither teams are wanting
They look at FC24 cards to scout 😂😂😂
That’s a scouting model too if it’s a clueless club
"When Tottenham win something, it makes me sick to my stomach" You've got a better memory than me - I really can't remember how it feels to see them win something!!!
Aside from weekly salary, I cannot fathom why anyone would go to Chelsea or United at the moment.
We are in such a great position at the moment.
*Charles, only a few years ago you were the reporter telling us Patino is the biggest talent to emerge from the youth team since Wilshere. And in fact he is so good, he was being earmarked to enter the first team without the need of being loaned for experience.*
*And now he’s not even worth £15-20m?!?!*
You're born with talent, you have to reach your potential.
We could potentially win the league next year.
"Charles, only a few years ago you were the reporter telling us Patino is the biggest talent to emerge from the youth team since Wilshere" Charles was reporting what people around the youth team were saying.
Ugh! Cold is the perfect word for how city leaves me. But reading their whining about the "tyranny of the majority" also left me laughing hysterically. It is called governance. Kind of like democracy. Not surprising that city and their ownership group are uncomfortable with all of that. Great content Charles - you brought it even without the slides!

Well said Charles, about those cheats, Its like a "drowning dog, it scratches and claws and tries to drag anything and anyone down with them"...
What jurisdiction will this Man City v Premier League hearing happen in? And what is the top of the appeals chain? i.e. will it be decided within the UK justice system?
Talking about who I was supporting in the FA cup final I found it a difficult one to decide which club I despise the most......it was impossible
Slides or no slides your content is some of the very best Arsenal content in the world. Keep it up Charles, well on your way to becoming an Arsenal legend!!😂
nothing says 'i am guilty' like taking the entity charging you to court...
Thanks for another video charles. Keep up the great content
"Tottenham win something makes me sick to my stomach." Tottenham win something HAHAHA good one Charles!!
@@RichardStone-xk2px well no shit lol. A match that wins us a trophy does not equate to them winning a trophy though. Didn't think that needed to be said 🤣
@@RichardStone-xk2px sorry was "no shit" not clear enough for you? Obviously I was hoping they drew (we didn't need them to win). That doesn't mean you're absolved from your lack of critical thought. Go play your anti intellectual "just say yes or no" simpleton games with your fellow spuds, Dick Stone.
Charles, you are absolutely spot on! Man City are the Pablo Escobars of the EPL. While I agree with how cold you feel about the other teams you also mentioned, it's Chelsea that fits what to be puked on for me.
Big up Charles. Great show as always. Coyg!
Just noticed that you’re very close to 100k followers.Love your job mate,I remember when you were starting it. Keep up the good work.
such a pleasure charles
Charles we appreciate your videos very much ❤
I’m in agreement with you Charles on these transfer fees that we’ll get for player sales. We always think our players will do great at midtable teams but Chambers and Holding have struggled for game time after leaving us. As fans we need to taper our expectations a little
Feel like we're slow walking Sesko in case there is a market opportunity on Osimhen
I want to have football in my life. I am unable to do many of the things I used to for fun. VAR, hosting the World Cup in Qatar and man city just make it more and more joyless everyday.
Is pretty simple though Charles isn't it as the 60 million release clause is easily achievable by any of those clubs interested that you mentioned so therefore it's all about what Sesco wants to do?
Charles Watts is such a legend. That's all
The more i follow this, the more i think the sesko story is driven by the agent.
Hi Charles - I'd love to hear your thoughts on the role that personalities such as Fabrizio Romano play in driving up prices in the transfer market. Looking at the developments currently affecting Sesko (with multiple competing Clubs entering the 'race') and reflecting on what's come out about Arsenal's reported discontent with Romano's impact on Mudryk 18 months ago... it's hard not to feel this industry is negatively affecting Club's abilities to get deals done with players. Watching Fabrizo's video's now are all about brand promotion (the suits he wears, different sponsorships / endorsements) and he feels a puppet of agents to drive up prices artificially. All part of the madness surrounding modern football as you often say... J from Nova Scotia, Canada.
Arsenal supporters are the problem placing video and the many arsenal channels including Charles banging on and on.
Hi Charles,
Regarding player price and valuations, I don't think there is anything like "fair price" in the market, every club makes their players expensive to state their intentions. Chelsea and Liverpool inflate their player prices. If Liverpool are valuing Sep van der berg (a 22 year old defender) at 20m, then MIka Biereth (a 21 year old forward) with 19G+A in 29 games is worth more, or at least same. Don't you think so?
-- 'Femi
I just followed you, love watching.
Imagine we in possibly the best stable position the club has been in what over a decade? And yet we are struggling or battling to sign a relatively unknown player with a team possibly at the worst they have been in recent years in Chelsea is mad lmao .
I've never understood why arsenal can't sell players at decent price, I now believe the way fans talk about our players is a factor
100k subs soon Charles 🔴⚪🙌
I’ve watched the prem since 98, gooner since then here in the states. If city wins this suit they’ve laid out, I’m done wasting my time watching anything EPL related.
Hi Charles 👋, I hope all is good 👋 👦 ☺️ 👍 😊 🙏. I hope Manchester City are found guilty of FFP charges because they think they are above the law. I also hope Benjamin Sesko signs 🙏 with Arsenal God willing 🙏. Have a good day Charles 😂. Arsenal rocks 🏆 🙏 🤲 🪨 🎸 😎.
I think the question on City is/was: did they agree to adhere to a set of agreed upon rules? Is there an option to ban them? Their childish yet time consuming and expensive course of action, ie lawfare as opposed to fair play warrants a pretty severe reaction from the other clubs and the league.
He could stay put and develop more before moving, good option.
He could go to Arsenal and be under pressure to perform in the hardest League in the world from day one.
He could go to Chelsea and sit on the bench and get a few minutes as a sub
Or he could go to Newcastle under the best development coach in Europe, just look at what Eddie has done with our squad, still a lot of players from the Steve bruce time LOL, but look at Big Joe, Bruno, Anthony Gordon and the best striker in the PL Isak there improvement has been Fantastic.
🐐🐐
@Extratime Charles you are so right. I have the same feeling about Man City too and it makes me mute my ESPN FC watch when Man City win because I know all the pundits will be going on and on about it. I even dislike when pundits try to compare Arsenal style to Man City. We don’t play the same way. Arsenal’s style is a combination of Wenger tight space passing style and creative flair combined with press and quick recovery that is Pep’s Man City style. Man City play like video games football.
Hey Charles , saw fab romano reported Arsenal enquire about Onana.... Do you think he'll be what we need to play in the big UCL matches ...I guess not yet ... We need a Bruno Guimaraes or Douglas Luiz kind off signing. But wouldn't be against if arsenal sign him bcoz we know arteta knows far better than us . I also think we if sign him for 50m .... we'll have enough source to sign a winger which is a must .
Hey Charles. Gaz from Adelaide Australia here. Move your vids watch or listen to your vids every day. My question is if Eddie and ESR leave the club. Who do you think will/ deserve the numbers 10/14 hugely important/ classic in history of arsenal.
Many thanks
Gaz
Would it be possible and better that Arsenal keep Ramsdale and rotate him with Raya depending on the opposition and the type of game the squad needs to play? They both have their own strengths and weaknesses and the game plan or strategy and tactics, not their stats, are the more decisive factors in their performance and role for any particular match.
@CharlesWattsAFCNews Great stuff as always, Charles! What do you think Arsenal should do with Nwaneri this season? Thank you! Olivier
I actually agree that 30 mil £ is a minimum for Nketiah
As much as I dislike City, they've had to contend with much stricter rules than Chelsea did when building the club up. Before their respective takeovers, City had 2xPL/4xFA/2xLC, and Chelsea had 1xPL/3xFA/2xLC. They were comparable clubs, and both were able to dominate the league rapidly due to the massive influx of cash. Chelsea gained not just the trophies they won under Ambramovich but were able to build up the infrastructure of the club and even when he was forced to sell, he pledged to wipe off over one and a half billion in debt Chelsea had accrued through his interest free loans to the club. Which is surely flagrant violation of the rules? Now Newcastle face even tougher rules than both of those clubs and despite being arguably a more successful club than either were at the time of their respective takeovers (4xPL/6xFA/0LC) will likely find it harder to build up to the level of the top clubs than either City or Chelsea did.
So yes, I don't like what City have been accused of doing at all but I can also see why it would seem unfair for both themselves and Newcastle that Chelsea were seemingly able to game the system and get away with it.
Hey Charles, if in the off chance that Sesko decides against moving to Arsenal, whether that be staying at Leipzig or going to that other team in London, where do you see us turning our attention to? A striker is of course at the top of our list and I really don't see us paying the price that Napoli want for Osimhen unless there is a swap involved. Appreciate all the insight.
But we'll have to wait and see..😂
Hi Charles,
I watch your show every day & share a lot of your views - even saw you over the Arsenal a few times! I can't understand why Arsenal (as well as other top Prem clubs) aren't being linked more heavily with Xavi Simons. It's clear he's not going to play for PSG this year and they seem happy to loan him out - I saw Bayern were sniffing around him. To me this is a glaringly obvious loan move that would help us cover our concerns in the wide areas for a relatively cheap fee/wage, whilst giving us time to prioritise other necessary areas to strengthen and then reassess next summer, similar to Odegaard. What do you think?
Joe
Handsome man.
if Arsenal gets 30 mil for eddie, accepting lower than 40 mil for Ramsdale would be a crime
I really can’t understand anyone considering 30m for Rambo, we would have to spend at least 30m for a backup keeper and they’re unlikely to be anywhere near as good.
Hi Charles,
I keep on wondering if there is going to be a significant difference between selling this summer vs next summer with the changes in spending rules.
Surely next year, when the new spending caps kick in... clubs will not be as constrained under PSR?
Just wondering should good offers not arrive this summer... if it wouldn't be better to loan out players with more than 2y left on their contracts (Ramsdale, Nelson, Eddie, Vieira)?
Why is the price low for Ramsdale because he wants to go but so high for Rashford who wants to go.
Eddie is a good player. He just plays a style of football that doesn't necessarily work as well w Arsenal anymore.
Hi Charles. It seems, based on reliable reports from TNAT, James McNicholas and yourself, that a deal for Sesko is there to be done given the player is keen to play for Arsenal.
So my question is: what is the hold up?
Possibly that the transfer window isn’t open yet?
Hi charles, if you were in the unfortunate position of having to choose between sancho or rashford, who would you take? I personally would go sancho as he can play both wings- but ideally dont want either
Thanks for content. To confirm - you absolutely under value our players, same your player game ratings (£35 mil + quality sell on clause @ minimum for a proven / premiership experienced / home grown + England capped + record goal scoring / young talented and injury free / a position in high demand, he plays as striker - Eddie). + Now need to consider increase in value of Arsenal club stock, inc players (desire to join exciting project, or, to buy from).
I'm a bit confused: if City win this trial would that actually affect FFP too? In my Interpretation FFP is more like sth thats installed by UEFA and City and other state-owned clubs would still need to apply to those rules (right balance of Transfer incomes and expenses) regardless of dodgy sponsorship deals - or am I getting this wrong?
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
This City lawsuit is an admission of guilt. Add the noncompliance. They're getting the book thrown at them.
is ivan toney 65m? how about isak? and if he sign leipzig and raise that money, then get osimhen. we need a ready striker and best of all, a premier league tested striker. so my question is, toney was a hot topic last january. what the heck happened?
Hi Charles! I would like to know, how much did man city win after winning the PL and so on?
Is it the re start of the Super League plans ? The beginning of the end for National leagues
Regarding sesko we all know that he is our top priority in the forward line but at the same time we haven't seen any indications that arsenal are willing to pay his release clause, do you think we can get the deal over the line paying money that is below the release clause, i personally don't think we can get it done unless we pay the release clause.
I think if arsenal want him they will do whatever it takes to get it done,in this case what it takes to get it done is to pay the release clause and i think arsenal will do it
Who is Adam Wharton? Should we consider getting him to partner Rice?
He is the same age as saka x
man city are the drake of the league!
Every player Chelsea have decided to sign off other clubs they have signed
City know they can’t charge higher prices because they struggled to fill out their stadium for years, because they never had the fan base to make the same kinds of revenues as the other big clubs. We used to charge some of the most expensive prices for tickets in the world and we were still packed out every week because we actually had the fans.
It’s why when people try to deny the charges you have laugh, imagine actually believing that city where organically making the same revenues as Liverpool and Man Utd back in 2009 😂😅
Name a City legend.
Name a legendary City team.
All my life (40+years) Man City were an average championship team. Their best player was Dimitradze, Their best ever striker was Shaun Goater and they used to sing "feed the goat and he will score".
They went from Championship mediocrity to being the richest club in the world overnight. They didn't grow naturally like other teams did, by winning, winning grows your fan base (look at Man Utd), they were artificially grown with money, money they cheated to get.
@@jc6087 I'm assuming you mean Kinkladze rather than Dimitradze?
Hi Charles from Johnny! I don’t know about you but I don’t like the Onana news. More of a Rice cover than someone that starts alongside Rice. Not as good on the ball as Partry or as intelligent as Jorginho. I wouldn’t even let Partey go if all we’ve got is Onana, and we probably invest in a 6 next year again. Curious why they are not looking for the availablity of Douglas Luiz if Bruno G is not available (although Villa probably also feels no real pressure to seek).
Charles is arsenal a serious club, when it comes to transfer dealing?
What kind of stupid question are you asking 🤣🤣🤣
If Man 💩TY pull this off then our game is a busted flush COYG ❤️❤️❤️
Why is he going to play week in n out when there is Openda!
The guy's name is 'Šeško'. Please pronounce it as written. i.e. with the 'sh' as in 'ship'. It's not hard!
Ramsdale £2000 and take a chance he is a big risk for any team x
Personally speaking I’d value ESR at £45M, Ramsdale doesn’t need to be sold, so anything less for £40M why bother. Eddie at £30M is fair and £12-15M for Nelson is also a fair price. All should include sell on an option to buy back clauses.
With regards to Citeh, I’d expect the Parliament to step in if they win this shame of a court case.
They are asking to make up the price on interco trading. ie Citeh could charge Dubai £100m for a signed shirt. It’s a joke. I hope they only serve to dig their own grave.
The Premier League are the ruling entity and I understand that the teams in it are not franchised, like in American sports, but could they simply expel Manchester City from the league? MC themselves have tarnished the Premier League product with their off-field antics and in short not playing to the rules of the league - whether that is by not opening their financial books for investigation or that they have been charged, although not proven, to have caused over 100 breaches.
In a similar way with F1 the teams submit their financial documents to be scrutinised by F1 and I'm sure if they refused to do so F1 would simply say they're suspended or expelled from the competition for non-compliance.
Ever y transfer fee is over
In spanish we have a phrase to reflect the Man City actions: "Now it turns out that the ducks are shooting the shotguns"
Would you sign Rashford on loan fee 15m £ and option to sign 50m £ ? Arsenal to pay 100% Rashford wages during the loan
If Biereff played for any other team he would be hailed as the Haaland sold for 50-70mill like Rasmus Holjland Arsenal should extend his contract play him instead of signing Sesko
Charles I think u bought into this thing too much about players that can play multiple roles..White should now play rb only...We need a quality cover for Saliba(no makeshift)sell calamity Zinny and bring in Hauto...what about Diomande?
City know they are going to be found guilty so in desperation they are trying every legal avenue they can. They think they can get the charges dropped if they force a rule change...
‘Tyranny of the majority’! Wow. I’m almost speechless. You joined the PL you must abide by the rules of the majority. This is straight up facism
99.5k subs 👍
ESR only 5m less than Odegaard 😂
The whole City affair feels like one of those movies where there's a massive conspiracy involving loads of people pretending everything the lead character knows to be true is false, and presenting a completely different "truth" as reality. Meanwhile, the lead character slowly starts wondering if they've gone mad, whilst trying to fight against the plot.
It's like there's a load of people acting like City are totally above-board and when anyone mentions anything different, they're accused of being sore losers/irrational/trying to maintain a cartel of their own/mud-slinging to discredit them, etc.
The actual definition of gaslighting
Not sure I've seen many films like that tbh
@@kunimitsune177 the one that springs to mind immediately is Flight Plan with Jodie Foster. Can't think of others off the top of my head.
I'm starting to despise Manchester City more than Tottenham
Eddie is a proven EPL striker...30M is minimum for him
They want to make up their own rules but everyone else have to stick to them. When they signed up they AGREED to bide by the rules.
If they win case theres no point any of the other 19 teams competing it the end of football, the premier knew this would happen why let them in the league? MONEY AND GREED.
If the Citeh owners don’t like the EPL rules they can “jog on” to another league. They should pick up their toys thrown from their pram and go play somewhere else.
Would it be more beneficial for Arsenal if we just leave them to negotiate these signings in secret instead of drumming them up and sparing the likes of Chelsea from needing to hire good scouts? 😆😁
