Hubzetta Pernell Safe in His Arms May30 2020

Hubzetta Pernell is definitely one of my favorite singers in Las Vegas, NV. I remember making that decision some 20 years ago when I heard her sing "Don't take Your Joy Away" by Kirk Franklin. I had recently been commissioned to be the church organist for Victory Missionary Baptist Church. I remember almost falling off the organ bench when she started singing! The pastor was the late Dr. Robert E. Fowler, Sr. Hubzetta is one of the most humble singers that I have ever met in my 35+ years in Gospel Music. She can sing anything you give her. She has always encouraged her fellow sopranos to have fun while worshiping the One and only living God. She has sung background for countless artists that have visited the church (Tramaine Hawkins, Edward Hawkins, Jonathan Nelson, Crystal Aikin, Rev. Charles Jenkins, Percy Gray, V. Michael McKay, and others). She is also a fellow UNLV alumni and A.K.A. David A. Blakely is on keys. Background vocal arrangements by recording artist and VMBC Minister of Music, Jack Yates. ENJOY!
