But the biggest one of all was Nick I met him and family and earl various times Nick was an amazing person to be around as was his fiancé Jackie , why bad things happen to good people I don’t know ! I wasn’t a keen watcher of Motogp after all this happened ! Glad Vale safely retired Rest In Peace All & All that have lost their lives in the past ❤❤❤❤
It still bugs me that Nicky Hayden was killed by a woman driving her car, illegally on her mobile phone, not concentrating on an ordinary highway. What a waste.
Good to have a video like this. RIP to all. Actually attended the Sepang round in Malaysia just last weekend. Was watching the start from the roof of the pit garage building that afforded us a view of the riders initial braking for Corner 1, thru Corner 3 and beyond. Witnessed the 3 bike crash. All 3 riders (Quartararo, Binder, and Miller) escaped injury, but Jack Miller was very close to a very bad (or worse) injury. Race was immediately red flagged. Went back to the lounge and heard Miller was conscious. Tried not to think too much about Marco Simoncelli. Just was hoping for the 3 current riders. For sure, it was a huge loss for the whole racing community when Simoncelli lost his life. It’s a dangerous sport, but let’s stay alive.
Kim Newcombe, crashed at Silverstone and died through incompetence at the British hospital he was sent too. Kim was posthumously awarded second place in the 1973 500cc World Championship, behind Read, but ahead of Agostini.
The added dangers of street circuits. Unfortunately I was about 150mtr. behind him when it happened, had to slalom through the debris and everything looked very grim. Middelburg had more heavy crashes at Tolbert/Leek in the past (Zoet).
He was such a nice guy. I'm Italian and he had the accident in the region where I live. The road is dangerous. His accident should teach us that we shouldn't use earphones on the road. RIP Nicky, World Champion
you can add Luca Salvadori to the list… he died at the Frohburger Dreieck near Leipzig in Germany at the 61st Frohburger Dreieck Race on a SBK/STK 1000
Only found out nicky haden had died a month or so ago such a shame for people to die so young .that's why everyone should enjoy life and just get along no matter your race or religion.
Omobono Tenni, known as *The Black Devil* raced 239 motorcycle races before his death in 1948 at 42 while riding his Moto Guzzi in a Swiss race. He's the only italian to have ever won the Tourist Trophy of the Isle Of Man in 1937 on his Guzzi 250.
If you are Scottish and of a certain age you would have to include Bob Mac, first to lap IoM over 100 mph. If you’re Zimbabwean(Rhodesian, then Ray Amm 2:50 and Gary Hocking.
Pazzesco come siano morti più giovani piloti in età moderna con piste, moto, gomme e abbigliamento tecnico "sicuri"... Non posso credere che negli anni 60 non morissero piloti giovani in gara...
Hayden died when he was hit by a car while riding a bicycle in Italy. And, "wakai" means "young" in Japanese, and he did die young. Also, in 2000 I saw Anthony Gobert beat Hayden twice on the same day at Sears Point. I also saw Gobert pull a wheelie going down the corkscrew at Laguna Seca. He was good but I think he had a drug problem.
Motogp is a brand name that now appears to be generally used to describe motorcycle grand prix racing through the different eras. It's annoying, but there you go. But there again the ones who know know, the ones who don't probably wouldn't care.
@@61js Sorry but MotoGP started in 2002, anything before was called GP racing. Doohan was once quoted in saying he would be insulted if called a MotoGP champion as he and most people might agree that GP era and inparticular the 500 two strokes where incredibly difficult to ride at their level.
I woke up five minutes late for that race. But decided to watch live..... It'll only be a lap or two. Saw the red flag and thought "it's got to be Marco" Then they showed what happened, again and again and AGAIN!! It was shocking. I am a hard person emotionally, but I cried my eyes out when I saw that, and I am not ashamed to admit it. Definitely a superstar, cooler than penguin p!ss.
