Always worth it. I bought a budget folder for 375 pounds. It was slow and clumsy on hills. It weighted 29.7lbs stock I spent 350 pounds to get it down to 24lbs. And changed the wheel set from cheap 406 wheels to litepro s42 aero 451 wheels. After all upgrades the bikes top end speed went up by over 5mph from 21 to 26 plus. Average speed up by over 3mph. From 13 to 16 plus. And my bike now floats up hills. Whereas before I would be half dead. After climbing the hills where I live. You upgrade to make the bike more efficient. And it's absolutely worth it. Reach your destination faster and less tired.
