Grif Remembers Fighting the Meta - Red vs Blue

- If you watch Episode 3 of Season 12 at the same time as Episode 20 of Season 8, you'll notice that Griff tells his story at the same pace as the fight against the Meta happens. Here's a video showing the fight while Griff tells his story!

I never noticed that Grif was actually telling the truth in everything he said.
I mean everything he went through was insane to the max.
He left out some details but never lied.
Even the strength of bears part was in the fight its self. Ifnyou go back and watch the fight straight up, I believe it's when Griff is thrown off Meta's back, you can hear Griff yell that he's (the Meta) got the strength of (10?) Bears. I can't remember what number he actually yelled at the time but he Did in fact shout about it During the fight lol.

I remember there was a comment saying the reason why Simmons said The Meta had the strength of 20 bears is because only 20 bears have the strength to grab Grif
The fact that Griff jumped on the Meta and held on as long as he did is still amazing.

Watching this video, Grif's decision in the recent Season 15 episode makes more sense... sure it was for comedic effect, but he did get dragged off a cliff and he seriously did almost die. With all the other stuff that's happened to him, I totally understand him not wanting to go through all that again.
Also getting punched in the dick repeatedly by copies of Tex.
Ever since he left blood gulch, he’s been shot at, beat up, almost dragged off a cliff, got caught in a civil war, and we don’t even know what on the Charon industries ship after Epsilon died. At that point, I’d be surprised if he wasn’t fed up with it all

The fight with the Meta has to be the best in RvB history, they didn’t have freelancers or special equipment, four bottom-of-the-barrel rejects beat one of the toughest SOBs in the galaxy.
That's kind of the point, in all the seasons really. They are absolutely horrible "soldiers". And that's what gives them the edge. The people they face are intelligent, tactically gifted, with a mind for war. The Reds and Blues are mostly just dimwits who fumble themselves to victory.
I love how when Simon says "more like twenty bears" he says it with a hint of genuine goddamn fear in his voice, he's telling the truth he just doesn't want to remember the fight.
Nah, I think it's more that he likes the admiration he's getting from the newbie troops. But he's also terrified of them because they are girls lol!

Zack Peaslee Grif isn't coming back. He left because Geoff quit.
as for church it seems he may not be dead but i dont see how the alpha is still alive when it got the emp.

I was surprised that Grif didn't lie about any of the details to make himself look better.... although I guess that would be more Tucker's domain.
You tend to forget with all the Freelancer stuff, the comedy, and the fact they tend to struggle a lot(because they're ment to be sim troopers). At the end of the day they still went through a shit ton. They beat Agent Wyoming, the Meta, an army of Agent Texas. They're incompetent, but have stumbled and flailed their way through so many fights
And not only that but time paradoxes, literal business, AND two experiences Mercs.

Human slingshot...*cough* RWBY Volume 1 *cough*
When you think about it, the glyph slingshot attack against the Giant Nevermore was the first team attack in the show. Yang set up the slingshot using Blake's weapon, Ruby was the projectile and Weiss used her glyphs to launch Ruby and propel her up the cliff.
Now I want someone to do a fancomic of Ruby telling the story of Volume 1 Chapter 8. Weiss could show up for Simmons' part.

honestly, watching grif tell the story i thought he was exaggerating to make himself look cooler, but seeing it ya all that stuff really did happen

I know this is late and all but what happened to the griff shot? They had it when they fought their way out but was not seen on the last season.sa so very sad.
I think Grif said in (i think) season 12 that the UNSC confiscated the grifshot when Grif lended them it when they asked to “check it out”
