    Sixteen years ago my online course with Cesar Millan..every assignment at that time had an effect son my journey with my dogs and others too. During all these years I have kept watching his RUclips videos and my learning journey even became richer. I have even felt his painful life moments he had gone through and the portrayal and depictions of others but still he managed to find his way back to the top blessed with his dearest ( his parents, his heroes Calvin and Andrew). As much I am grateful with my career journey I am grateful for cesar wisdom and yes to better humans better planet.🙏🏼

      Go,ogIe the term I posted above, it's a heIpfuI method. You don't need a leash to stop your dog from jumping up. It's more powerful when your dog CHOOSES to listen to you. Not through force or anything, but because she wants to.

      Researching what breed of dog you own plays a major part also. Several breeds need more training and exercise compared to others. They need to have mental exercise too.

    • @nic5647
      @nic5647 2 года назад +74

      Wrong. Good trainers use LIMA (least intrusive, minimally aversive). This principle is understood by any trainer certified by IAABC or CCPDT. Proper behavior modification understands you can use positive or negative forms of reward or punishment. The technique illustrated uses positive punishment, the worst one for training and the one most likely to cause unintended consequences, like fear of strangers or people. Instead you could use a combination of positive reward and negative punishment. Break down what the dog wants--attention and play. When it exhibits undesirable behavior--jumping on you--take away what it wants--your attention (negative punishment). Do that by simply turning away. Once the dog calms down or shows a desired behavior, turn back to the dog and give it attention and play (positive reward). If you train a sit gets him play, he will start running over and sitting excitedly in no time without jumping. No leash required at all.

    Cesar, thank you for your dog training lessons. I have a neighbor, who hardly takes her dog for a walk. Having our homes side by side, I have been listening to her dog barking for almost 6 years. Because I am a very patient person who wants to get along with neighbors. She lets her dog bark many many times a day. One day, I was up early and decided to have a cup of tea on my patio at 5 am in the morning. There she started to bark again while the owner was sitting and doing nothing about it. It must sound like music to her ears, I guess.
    That early in the morning, I had to say "shut up" to her dog. Since my tea time was spoiled I went inside my house and decided to write an email to her. I explained to her, how I have been feeling over the six years, I am having a headache and do not enjoy sitting on my patio and in my home.
    Wow, she must have read my email. I don't know what she did, her dog is not barking, in about a week, I heard her barking maybe twice. A few days later, I wrote another email, thanking her and wrote, finally, I can read a book in peace and drink my drink on my patio.
    She is avoiding me and not talking to me. I feel like, I have been a very good and very patient neighbor; it is her turn to say something. She can do this in writing or just by saying "Hello" to me.

      @@kevkevgo5038 I've raised wild and exotics. If you don't know anything about Animal behavior you have no business being a dog trainer. There's plenty of proof that Cesar has screwed up multiple times. He clearly jerks that dog back to cause compliance. This man is not even legally licensed or trained in animal behavior. To make it worse.

    You notice with most of the dogs, its not actually training the dog its more training the owner to do certain actions because dogs behave according to what you are doing. If you are doing the right actions, then the dog will follow

      Watching the original Dog Whisperer series, you notice very quickly that it's always the person (not the dog). You reach a point where you know how the show will go when you see the intro ("before" behavior). It starts to get repetitious after 3-4 seasons. Then you start wondering how some people even needed Cesar. It was all out there already. They had ample opportunity to watch the 2-3 seasons by the time they were on a season-4 episode themselves. They didn't need Cesar to tell them anything. (There are some tough cases, the owner is experienced, still couldn't do it.).

    • @jojoblank8883
      @jojoblank8883 3 года назад

      No it's forcing a dog to behave. Not teaching them anything. Cesar believes that humans are alphas to dogs. That is false. Wild wolves don't even have alphas. This man just makes a dog scared to do anything.
