The fact you went through them at the end from memory, shows how much passion you have for this brand and clothing in general. Congrats! Time to save money to get some heavy boys!
Thanks for this, currently looking at getting a pair of Iron hearts. I think I like the sound of the 1955's being an older denim guy. Amended 1yr later, i have the 888 16oz slub. Perfect fit.
Bought my first pair of iron hearts today! I’m a 32 in waist and tried on the 777 and feel the tight and leg too slim so I sized one up and they felt better, then tried on a 888 and loved the room in the tight and hem opening sat perfectly on top of my sneakers. Went with the 888’s 👌🏽
TJ is the Effin man‼️ brother keeps it so raw and conventional with the videos and information so organic he provides us with his personal phone number… come on you can’t get any more human being than that
Great video and description! Just ordered and received the new Oiled N1 Deck jacket and it arrived quickly to the US. Love the jacket and the experience with The Shop Vancouver. Thanks guys!
Thanks a lot do the video bro, best explanation of the fits anywhere. I wish they would keep the taper through the hep instead of going damn near bellbottom on my 555’s.
777 and 666 translate. youll note 555 and 634 are sorta similar , 888 and 1955 are sorta similar , so if youre a 777 guy , youll probably be a 666 guy in straight
Thanks for making this video man! When you mentioned you grew up skateboarding and playing hockey that resonated with me. I as well grew up in those sports and triathlon, so I have the hockey cheeks and thighs which make it difficult to find denim that fits me to my preference. I have the 888 and love the rise, just a little tight around the thighs for my liking and I was originally going to go for 634 next, but you just convinced me to go for 1955. Thanks again for the help!
Fucking perfect video. I’m not new to Selvedge or raw denim but all the numbers for Iron Heart were just too much for my ADD to pay attention so I never put the work in to figure out each different fit. Thank you so much for this 🙏🏽
I was looking at the Iron Heart America website. It's a little confusing that there are different measurements for the different denim weights within the same line. For example, the IH-555S-142 (14oz) size 35 has a 35.4 waist but the IH-555S-21 (21oz) size 35 has a 36.0 waist. The other measurements are different as well.
Yeah, ignore the waist size and click on the “how they fit” tan and check the measurements against jeans you have or measurements that you want. The waist size on the label varies from TTS to vanity for no apparent reason. But the sizing chart tells you everything.
TJ May the universe bless you! Thank you so much your videos and information… saving up for a 888 and the 1955 heavyweight boys 21 or 25oz :) I wanna try to wear them year round.
I roll that 21oz 1955 a ton. I had to quit with the 25 oz ... shit was just too much and kept breaking my hemming machine. 30$ hems for 4000$ fix . is working backwards. Keep your eyes on our page .. 1955 coming up soon
Hey TJ! I was hoping you could help me out. Graham from IH has been very helpful but I would love to get your opinion too, as a fellow big thigh guy. I have a pair of 888od at home that I have been trying out for almost a month and I just can’t decide if I want to keep them or not. My thighs feel fairly tight in them, as i can pinch maybe half an inch of fabric at most. Meanwhile the rise seems on the higher side so the front gives me a much more pronounced ’bulge’ when sitting down than any of my previous denim. There is also plenty of excess fabric around the general crotch area. The general shape of the pants is also a bit more slim than I had envisioned. Nowhere did I see these described as slim before I got them, but your description of a big guy slim cut is spot on. They do look better on me than any previous slimmer cut i have tried, but It’s more of a question of if that’s what I want anymore(iI have to decide that on my own of course). My main question is simply if my issues sound like me not being used to the fabric weight or if this cut simply isn’t for me. I just now measured the thigh width on my sugar cane Hawaiis and 3sixteen classic straight and they are close to identical if not a tiny bit narrower than the 888s and those 2 jeans are the best fitting pairs I have tried (I think they are both 501 inspired cuts). They are both mid/lightweight though which makes me suspect it’s a weight issue(maybe that applies to me too…). If I go up in size to fit my thighs the waist would be much too big too as for some reason most of my bodyfat and muscle decided to attach itself to my thigh area. I am simply hoping to find out if the 634 would be better for me or if IH simply doesn’t have my perfect cut? (1955 seems to be largely out of stock at least in Europe, and the rise might be too high anyway?) If so let me know if there is any other jeans you might recommend! I would like to try something on the heavier side with some interesting texture. If you can answer any of this at all I would be very grateful! Despite all of my questions, this video is very informative and helpful! I wish I had a guide like this for every brand, it would save me and a lot of other people so much time. It should be pinned to any IH cut question thread anywhere!
send me a text , 604 229 2134 and we can chat. I think i know what you mean about the fabric in the crotch , i saw that in a pair of 633 , but a photo or short video showing me what you mean can help a ton, and then we can see.
Feels more like a waist to butt to thigh ratios. I don't have particularly big thighs, but I have a smallish waist and a developed butt. My 888s fit perfectly. My 666s are too low on the waist.
Yea i love these. stock should be showing up from our first pre order on both of these in a few weeks. I wear the size 42 in these ( usually a 40 , medium north American , Large Japanese )
I'm a bit confused on the sizing between the 634s and the 1955. As far as the measurements show, the 634s has more room in the thigh and the hem than the 1955. Am I missing something or is the 634s the best option for us big thigh guys?
howdy, I'll be coming over from the island to grap a pair soon. I like to wash my jeans pretty often for good reasons...other than fades not being so drastic, what is the downside of washing frequently? like once a month...
nah , just as you said you'll get a lighter jean, nothing wrong with washing denim ... just denim heads that are on forums will tell you youre doing it all wrong .... the only wrong thing would be using the spin cycle and getting marble lines on em ... that ruins your shit
I hear several in the IH community and just denim in general, to get your pants snug to break them in. I believe the goal is for the jeans to form to your body so that they fit like a glove, kind of like breaking in a pair of boots. I ordered a pair that seem pretty snug, but I think they are to stretch up to an inch in the leg and waist. Is this a correct perception? Do you prescribe to this belief?
I personally do not subscribe to that . yea they will open up a bit .. but buy jeans that fit you and your body type. I buy jeans to fit , and they stay that way .. people always go "well they will stretch out too big ... my jeans opened up 2" " sure yours did because you bought them 2" too small ... mine stay the right size because they only really stretch out to as big as you are. buy jeans that fit and wear them.
Would like for your to compare the 534, 666, 1955. especially the difference between the 534 and 1955, and how does it fit. I bought the 666 (in 36), and would say it fit very similar, with a smidge wider hem, to my recent Levis 501 (in 34). So readers who wants a real reference, ur welcome.

Yea, we're not amazon, or in an industry that makes the margins that most people assume we make... The Shop is a small, single man operated business. We charge a flat rate shipping in Canada and US to cover some of the costs to ship and we pay the rest.
I'd let yourself get use to it before taking them in. Hemming them properly will also give them the right look, sitting at 36 if you are a 32 will make them look a lot wider at the hem than they are

haha welcome to the shop videos , everything is pretty much off the cuff .. its confusing but do it long enough and it all sorta makes sense haha.
Fast, simple and succinct! Best explaination out there! Thank you 🙏
Amazing that you did that in one take. Impressive and helpful.
Thanks for this, currently looking at getting a pair of Iron hearts. I think I like the sound of the 1955's being an older denim guy. Amended 1yr later, i have the 888 16oz slub. Perfect fit.

Heck yeah! Thanks for making this. Got my actual hands on this brand recently. Such quality!!! I’ll be coming back to this when I’m ready to buy.
its a lot of numbers . but once you have the idea you can sort of feel your way around it a bit
TJ is the Effin man‼️ brother keeps it so raw and conventional with the videos and information so organic he provides us with his personal phone number… come on you can’t get any more human being than that
single shot off the top of my head , don't know any other way to do it hah . glad you dig it
Thank you so much. I’ve been wanting to know the Fit’s for so long. That’s why I haven’t but any iron hearts pants🙏
Its a lot of numbers to follow but i tried to break it down to something easy to follow. Im sure ill make another one soon enough

Love how real this was. Thanks for the outline.
Thanks a ton for making this video. I finally figured that it's either the 666 or the 777 for me. Cheers mate.

Thanks for this! All these numbers are confusing, but now it's clear. I think I'm 1955 kind of guy.
love the 1955 !

The Henry es-13 eco horse hide western . It’s up on our site

What leather top are you wearing? Do you still have in stock?
The 1955 is the only one i would wear but i heard they stretch a bit when washed
Great video! What’s the brown jacket behind you?
No brown jacket .... but theres a Green jacket which is called The Henry , our Eco Horse Western Shirt with Y2 Leather

you can see them on our site www.theshopvancouver.com
Does anyone know which one is closest to the Levi’s 512
Gosh, I know this is an old video. But do you know what brand or kind of shirt you had on? never seen a leather button down like that before

Doesn't the 888 sit atop your stomach given how much front and back rise they have? I find that to be really uncomfortable
will really depend on your body shape ,I have a video that will talk about this stuff coming soon
My current wear is 511 Japan 🇯🇵 Made…Should i go to 777 or 666?
Great question...I'd like to know as well.
is there a slim fitting, cropped leather jacket that has a little shorter sleeves than the schott 613/618?
the denim style type 1 (ib-140 or KB-140T) from y2 , I wear it often... you can see it on Insta with measurements on theshopvancouver.com

Sounds like you didn’t get the right size. 634 is straighter and lower rise , you can see the charts on sites and compare the two
Love the 888s but why must they always have a 8.5" leg opening. Don't want to buy these and send them to the surgeon day 1.
I'd let yourself get use to it before taking them in. Hemming them properly will also give them the right look, sitting at 36 if you are a 32 will make them look a lot wider at the hem than they are

555 all day. can wear with engineer boots and ride for hours in them. (body types beware)
Just wondering if it's a fashion crime for older guys, say 60, to wear really slubby raw jeans
No
ok that was impressive but give yourself a break next time and put a cue card next to the camera 😅
