Always love what you create, but really enjoyed watching this coming together. Your layering and paper/pocket choices are a plus! Flip flaps are such a great way to keep extra photos and I love to use them! TFS
Thank you Erica, I am a big fan of pocket cards on my 12x12 layouts. Sometimes I cut them up for embellishments or use them to add layers. I love the versatility!
Haha don’t let me fool you, there are days I struggle and have to walk way from a layout. It gets easier with practice though. So glad you enjoyed the layout.
Love the layout. I am interested in getting back into scrapbooking and didn't know about close to my heart until recently. I am interested in a catalog. I have been watching you videos and your layouts are beautiful
Hello Kimberly that is so great you are getting back in the Scrapbooking. It is such a wonderful hobby and I love the community. CTMH has been around a long time and I am a big fan because of the quality and the product coordination makes my life a lot easier. I am so glad you have been enjoying the videos and I hope you are finding lots of inspiration. It is always nicer to have the catalog in your hands but you can see it online really well. I will add you the link below. The awesome news is CTMH will give you a free catalog with your order. Right now they are even including the new core catalog which will be live August 1. Just be sure to add it to your cart when prompted. Please let me know if I can help in any way. Happy crafting!
Thank you Sheryl, some days they come together easily and others take a little longer. I love layering scraps like this, I’m glad you enjoyed the layout.
Love your style Erin! Aren’t you excited for the assortment of enamel embellishments that are coming up in the new Core! My customers will like them I think!
Hello Colleen that is an excellent question and it probably looks pretty funny when you don’t know the why. All photopolymer stamps come from the factory with a coating on them that makes them shiny. This can interfere with how the ink clings and effect the end result of your stamped impression. When you rub it on your arm or the palm of your hand it removes this coating so they can take up the ink and stamp nice and crisply. Stampers refer to this as seasoning the stamp, some opt to use a gum eraser but I find it easier just to give it a quick swipe on my arm. Even when the stamp is not new I find this practice to be helpful because it will remove dust or lint that may be on the stamp.
Cute layout! What is the surface material use use to work on? I’m looking for a “mat” that will protect the Formica surface on the island in my art studio from mixed media mishaps. Thanks for your fantastic videos. Just got my first order from your CTMH shop and so excited to start creating.
Hi Cynthia, I would recommend the All Purpose mat for mixed media. It has a grippy back so it stays put and the front is completely wipeable. Even if your media dries on it you can remove it. The mat rolls up nicely for storage too. erinjacobson.closetomyheart.com/retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=8035
Hi Erin, cool layout. Do the flip flaps require a three ring album. Do I need to use a CTMH page protector? I have old albums I would love to use the flip flaps on.
Hi Susie, flip flaps can be used with any albums or page protectors. They have an adhesive strip and can easily be as heated to any protector. The pocket plus inserts should work with any album system but I can’t say for sure.
Great question, I am currently using the Epson Picture Mate 400 printer and LOVE it. I did a video demoing how I print at home and everything I use. You may find it helpful. I do recommend an app but later found out it is only for iPhone so heads in case you have an android.
Fantastic layout. Great colours and even better photos. Looks like fun!
Thank you Bonnie, it was a really fun day. I enjoyed documenting these photos with this paper pack.
