Premise: Joshua 5:9 says, "And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away (lGl: G] I)the reproach (hPr; j] ,) of Egypt from off you.
Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day." Joshua 5:2-8 speaks of Joshua circumcising all Israeli men born and grown-up
during the forty years in the wilderness. Through circumcision, the LORD rolled away the reproach of the newly-born Israelis.
Purpose: This sermon uses Joshua 5:9 to link three prophecies about Jesus rolling away our reproach. It shows the fulfilment of: 1) Joshua 5:9 to Matthew 27:33; 2) Psalm 69:5-21 to Matthew 27:34; and, 3) Psalm 22:6-19 to Matthew 27:35.
