    That's a mandolin not a banjo.
Sierra is such a generational talent that its difficult to pigeonhole her in one genre. As for the crowd, I think their jaws are collectively on the floor watching all this.

Sierra, like her music, is all over the place. She is one of a kind. On mandolin is Joshua Rilko, upright bass is Geoff Saunders and on fiddle is Oliver Bates Craven. They are simply the best to see live. We saw them at The Warfield in SF this month, they and the crowd were electric!! Happy to contribute and thank you for the reaction.

That tone your looking for in the mix is Oliver's fiddle. He's playing it through a flanger effect. A really interesting idea and it gets a Hammond organ beling played through the Leslie speaker type of sound. Such a creative idea. Nice reaction vid. I hope you enjoy the Sierra rabbit hole most gone down when they first hear her. Her music is a fountain that gives.

Great Reaction!. I've been a Sierra Fan for around 5 years. She is the real deal. She can sing anything. She changes up styles, she keeps changing up her own songs over time. She is a great performer partly because she has a way of finding a fresh take on her own songs. I'm not sure what is up with the audience here but I think the "Listening Session" a venue / series that doesn't draw a usual Sierra Crowd and maybe quite a few in the audience were new to Sierra. There are quite a few RUclips Videos of full shows, and multi-song segments, but here is my favorite. The audio quality is decent but not as good and quite a few other live videos. The show however was a great show. I was in the 2nd row center, but this video captures one of the best Sierra crowds I have seen. Sierra spent some time in Seattle and sort of launched her career from Seattle. The fiddle player touring with Sierra her is Josie Tomey and she is from Olympia WA. Portland is a pretty enthusiastic town for Sierra and for Josie. This was only the fourth show that Geoff Saunders played with Sierra. The band has gotten tighter. Sierra has kept adjusting arrangements. Sierra is more confident in going full our bit voice / Janis Joplin territory on her vocals now than she was two years ago.... but this was a super fun show and a great crowd. ruclips.net/video/Wti-N3Q0ZSc/видео.html

That was just so much fun! She has a wonderful voice and the whole band has a great stage presence. I had never heard of her before and immediately went to look her up. First thing I saw was that she is coming to a concert venue very close to me this Spring. Unfortunately, the tickets are too expensive for me, but, man, I would be there if I could justify th price. Wouldn't mind hearing some more of this artist though.

RUclips has videos from their Delfest 2023 performance or even the performance at the Ryman this past week. They have a country, bluegrass, new orleans style jazz, gypsy-folk and even latin mix that continues to draw me in. I think I like every song they've done, and I've never been into Country. Feels like a modern twist to a bygone era. Her fans call it a "Si era" lol. I'll be making more Sierra requests soon.

It's not a banjo. It's a mandolin. All mandolins are eight string.

Thank you for pointing that out. I was getting annoyed hearing her refer to what is obviously a mandolin as a banjo.
