i did have a suggestion - perhaps some holiday kits for those in the southern hemisphere? I'm as Aussie, and our Halloween is in Spring & our Christmas is in Summer!
That's a solid suggestion! I'm in SoCal, so we never actually get any cold weather here! Is Halloween much different? I suspect I know what Christmas is like!
@@inkandpagejournals Halloween is slowly getting bigger & better in some areas. We do it most years & have gotten a bit popular in our town (we've been on the news & in the local newspaper for our Halloween spirit) Most years we average between 450-500+ trick or treaters visiting our house. I have been The Wicked Witch Of Wilsonton Heights for several years now, even doing an appearance at a nursing home when my father-in-law was in residence there. My hubby is known as The Un-Named lol! Sadly we won't be doing it this year due to my health issues, but I'm really hoping to be back to it next year. Christmas is hot lol! Most families do the presents Christmas morning, then it's very common to have a big BBQ type lunch on Christmas Day (steaks, sausages, seafood, chicken etc, plus cold sliced ham. BBQ/roast chicken, sliced turkey and heaps of salads etc ) then live on leftovers for a few days after. Some folks do a proper Christmas dinner(roast meats, veggies, sides, puddings etc). Christmas afternoon is usually most adults relaxing (in a food coma lol) while the kids run around playing with all their new haul. Some energetic folks enjoy playing backyard cricket or some other sport. But yeah - it's usually a time of fun with our loved ones and trying to stay cool. I've personally always dreamt of going to the USA to experience Halloween & Christmas. Your Halloween seems to be such a community based thing, it just seems so wonderful! And of course it's in autumn, which is obviously the best season lol!
