And the award for best 1st time director goes to....POPPINS!!! Thanks for sharing Michigan Christmas and Da Viking traditions with us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.
Still can't believe this channel only has 12.5k subs as I type this. Thank you guys for all you do. It makes us all proud to be michiganders as we watch! Really appreciate all the history you tie in as usual.
You two are the best. Michigan is a magical place. I have moved away several times in my life. Always seem to get called back. It's people like you that make Michigan home. Thanks.
Really good job. We have been living in Florida for 14 years, after being Michigainians for more than 60 years. Your show helps not being there. We traveled and camped all over the state. However,we could have done more.
Learned how to play Set-Back and Euchre at the tannery in 1971. I remember watching your uncle Guy play Euchre. He was one of the more "Spirited" players. Great video, thanks for sharing.
TERRIFIC! While traveling through Michigan and the Midwest, I've always seen the promotional signs for Frankenmuth and Bronner's, and I've never taken the detour to go visit them. Thanks for sharing!
Well done - thanks for making our Christmas celebration brighter having some great travels joining you. Blessings and well done Poppins. Oh and does Mackinac have a Yule tide?
Glad you included Mac Island. My favorite place! Bronne's' is unbelievable, spectacular, fantastic and overwhelming. I can only take about 30 mins in the store and then "get me out of there". Shout out to Poppins for a great video. Merry Christmas to all - Ho Ho Ho.🎅
You two are the greatest. We have retired to Florida, but truly miss our second home, which has always been Michigan. Please keep up your exemplar work.
Great video. Thank you so much Poppins. I was born and raised in Lansing. Was so interesting to see the different traditions. I moved from Michigan in the 70's. Always enjoy your travels. Missing the UP.
Great job Poppins🎉 the stories you guys come up with and historical facts about Michigan are some of the best parts thank you so much for sharing! Keep up the good work!
That was fun. Thank you for sharing. You missed 676 Christmas trees in Adrian Mi. My beautiful hometown. I grew up there. I don't live there anymore. I miss it. Adrian has Heritage Park Holiday Lights. That is very nice too.
This was one of the most enjoyable videos for my wife and I. We intend to use your trip itinerary, once again , for our own Christmas adventure next year. Thanks a ton and great job Poppins!
This was just tremendous, I am so grateful! Of course my favorite was good ol' 1225, the model for the Polar Express, so good to hear that steam whistle again! Yep, Poppins did a marvelous job, Merry Christmas!!
So well done! Excellent job Poppins...this lil Yooper has actually made it to Bronner's! Awesome place~ This vid was so spectacular....Merry Christmas to you all!🎄🎄
Nice job! I was a student at MSU back in the 70s and walked past the 1225 locomotive sitting on it's siding nearly every day. It always makes me smile to see it back in service again.
We enjoyed Silver Bells in Lansing for many years as we used to live within walking distance to the capitol building. The drone show looked really cool this year from what I saw!
Super fun episode. Great job Poppins!!! We’re preparing to move back to MI after about 23 years. MI is truly the most magical place on earth and at Christmas time, it’s spectacular. Can’t wait to return and retire in my birthplace. Thanks for your fabulous vids
Incredible Christmas video! Adding Silver Bells in Lansing and the Polar Express from Ashley was a very nice touch! Poppins, your first video as director, wow! Excellent work! I wish you both a very Merry Christmas! Can't wait to see where you guys go in 2024!
You are great. My mom and dad are from the southwestern part of Michigan. Michigan is always part of my Christmas. We live in Northwest Indiana and love our drives to Michigan.
I am a recent sub to the channel and I just found this. I am a Michigan "ex-pat", grew up in Muskegon and now live in Huntsville, AL. I find it very interesting that returning soldiers from the Civil War established the first Christmas traditions in MI, kind of a neat touch-stone, but honestly the family traditions really hit home. I have vivid memories of playing cards (complete with table knock when you're done playing, Poppins!) with my mom and dad. They are both gone now, but the memories are very fond. I do miss the cold and snow a bit at this time of year as well. Looking forward to many more Viking adventures in my old stomping grounds! A suggestion: Maybe a side-trip to explore the Muskegon Blockhouse, on the lakeshore of North Muskegon. Very interesting history. 🙂
Hey Michael! Thanks for subbing and we appreciate your memories of traditions. We're still waiting for the cold and snow in November this year, its been from 50-80 these past couple of weeks.
love the video. I was just editing some stuff myself and I share Mrs. Clause sounded just like Poppins or I've been watching to many of your videos lately lol
Point of order: yes Franconia is now part of Bavaria, but it wasn’t always. Even today, the Fränkisch will often take umbrage (if silently) at being lumped in with Bayern.
That Was Wonderful! Great Job Poppins! Next Year You Should Do A Show On Midland MI Santa House And World Famous Santa School. Plus Midland Has A Gorgeous Historic Courthouse They Light Up, As Well As The Downtown Lights And Shopping. A Real Nice Visit At This Time Of The Year. Ah Christmas ... My Saintly Mother Was Polish And My Father Slovak, And Both Catholic. So In The Catholic Church Calender Advent Is The Preparatory 40 Day Season Before Christmas And Christmas Season Begins On Christmas Eve And Runs Through The Epiphany (The Baby Jesus' Presentation At Temple) Or Even For Some 40 Days To Candlmas (Feb2?). So Christmas Started On Christmas Eve. A Lot Of People Still Keep Their Christmas Lights Up Til Feb 2 Where I Live Here In Wyandotte MI Due To It's Polish Ethnicity. So Anyway We Never Set Up Our Christmas Tree Until Christmas Eve. Never Saw Any Presents. In Fact When We Were Young We Had To Go To Bed And My Mother And Father Set Up The Tree, Wrapped The Presents For 10 Kids And Set Them Under The Tree And Kept Cooking Christmas Dinner Through The Night. All So When We Kids Woke Up Santa Had Magically Been There While We Slept. Of Course I Kept Those Traditions Going As A Single Dad With My Two Boys! It Was Wonderful! Lotta Work, But I Miss Those Days!
And the award for best 1st time director goes to....POPPINS!!! Thanks for sharing Michigan Christmas and Da Viking traditions with us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.

Chuck, I sincerely appreciate the people who go to Bronners so that I don't ever have to.
You two are the best. Michigan is a magical place. I have moved away several times in my life. Always seem to get called back. It's people like you that make Michigan home. Thanks.
