Im making her a double baby blanket version of this, so that she can wrap both babies at the same time on her chest. Can’t thank you enough for contributing to the process of helping a loving mama welcome her babies home!
For anyone trying the pattern with a chunkier yarn, the concept stays the same but you'll have to rework the number of loops in each heart and sc in-between. A lovely pattern that translate well into different styles of yarn if you're willing to work with the pattern.

I am new to crocheting, this is beautiful. I am a little confused on when to count 4 over or 5. If anyone knows, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you

Tho I'm not sure which part you might be referring to; the first chain where the OP was mentioning '4+5+5+5...4'; from my understanding is that, as long as your first stitch is 4 and the ending stitch is 4. so for example, the length of your project is.. 20 stitches in length, so + 8 stitches. (4 for the front and 4 the back) I hope this helps 😅 good luck and ❤
